A little provocative, a little seductive with staying power
A fragrance that I have read a lot about now, and which I fortunately was able to test today through a sample.
I've been wearing it since 8:00 this morning, so a good seven hours.
So let's start at the back:
Even after the said 7 hours, he is still good to smell, but with me rather close to the body. The smell has not changed much since about 3 hours.
I can clearly smell the vanilla through (also my girlfriend, who I just held my arm out to smell, and who before said she likes the smell of sweet perfumes with vanilla very much). But besides that I clearly smell the notes of amber. I can only perceive musk maginally, almost not at all.
Since I am not a fan of roses, it is not surprising that I did not find the fragrance outstandingly good in the first 1-2 hours. There I found the rose quite dominant, but actually in a very tolerable way.
But at the beginning, about the first 30 minutes, I liked him very much. There I noticed an enormous scent of freshness, flowers and something sweet, and still I could smell the oud, too.

All in all he is very cute, which I usually like to wear as well. In the first moment he reminded me a little bit of Armani Si, which is why he didn't seem very "inventive" to me. But that changed when I noticed how complex this fragrance is.

All day long I've been thinking about when I'd like to wear this fragrance, but I can't think of any occasion except maybe to celebrate. On a date it would have to depend very much on the surroundings, or I would be very sparing with the scent, but even then I can imagine that it can be absolutely hypnotic and seductive.

And yet I would definitely wear it again, and I'd like to. And maybe even more in situations where I don't feel so well, so that I have the feeling that something strengthens my back, which Delina would definitely do due to its long durability and great sillage.

All in all a perfume which I like well, but for which I miss the occasions

First love is not forgotten
It's 2012. Late summer, I guess.
Pauline, just 16 years old, is in the perfumery with her mother. Actually, she is only interested in make-up - and that excessively. So far, her only perfume is some kind of drugstore scent, which she doesn't like at all. She doesn't like her mother's perfumes either, they all smell so citric like toilet water. But because her mother takes so long to pick them out, Pauline sometimes smells one or the other perfume.
Especially in those she has often seen in advertising, that goes without saying.
And that's where she notices the beige flacon, which also looks familiar to her from advertising. She also knows that it's from a really expensive brand, but little Pauline always had an expensive taste anyway and you can test everything anyway. And how likely is it that she likes this scent of all things? .... Shit.
"Mama, Mama! Smell!! OMG Mama smell, he smells soooo good!! What do you think of him? You should take this one, it's so great!
- (Mother smells annoyed at the perfume) "Oh God, Pauline, are you serious? This smells terrible, so old-fashioned anyone, like an omega perfume, that's way too heavy."

But Pauline doesn't think so at all, because this certain something that distinguishes this fragrance from so many other perfumery scents, of all things, caught her attention immediately. Of course it's a heavy scent, but what's wrong with it? Aren't heavy fragrances particularly elegant and a sign of class? At least when Pauline thinks of heavy scents, she always has to think of Chanel No 5 and Coco Chanel and how beautiful and elegant this woman was.
And besides this heaviness he had something else. (Note of the reaction: It was the green notes) Something that - so Pauline imagines - made the wearer stand out from the crowd. Something surprising, unexpected, exciting.

That's how extraordinary women smell and that's how she wanted to smell from that day on!

Unfortunately the 30ml bottle is not very cheap. But after telling everyone about her new discovery, her godfather finally agreed to give her this perfume for Christmas.
A beautiful gift! The first (and for the next 8 years also the only) perfume that triggered a feeling in her and which she likes 100%.

Since then, not a day has gone by without her having a little manifesto at home. A fragrance to go through thick and thin. That always gives you security and makes you feel a little bit more special.

An absolute classic that has been with me for 8 years now. (Of course it has lost its "specialness" in the course of time, but for me it will remain so because of all the memories I associate with it)

Beauty of nature
This morning I took out my bottling of Iris Torréfié and now I had to test it after all, which has not yet convinced me in the perfumery.

I had nothing to do today anyway, except study, so I was able to keep a pretty good eye on the fragrance development.
I didn't like the beginning - as I did at the first test - very much. Too fresh, too much bergamot, too little flower. I thought to myself that I would never spend so much money on something like that.
But after about half an hour to an hour he sat down so that I was absolutely thrilled. The vanilla already came through a little and of course the iris was very strong. Thus it was naturally also somewhat powdery. But I am a huge fan of any iris scents and this powdery note. Nevertheless, the scent was already after 1.5 hours very close to the body and even before that, I did not notice any great sillage.

After 3 hours it smelled vanilla, wooden, milky and like sofa covers. I suddenly saw myself looking out the window with a cocoa on the coffee table and a fantasy book in my hand. Outside it could be 30 degrees and we were in Bali, but it could also be -5 degrees in the Alps.

It is not a heavy scent, it is rather a clean, clear scent (above I said milky, good that I do not contradict myself). It smells like a person who is in control of their life and enjoys the little things, who has an eye for what is hidden from most people because it is not obvious, which may be due to the fact that the fragrance remains so close to the body. You have to smell to perceive it, but when you do, you can smell this warmth for many hours after spraying it on.

If you want to stand out, you'd better look for another fragrance, because you might never get a single compliment for Iris Torréfié. But this is not because of the - not very big - sillage, nor the durability, nor a "bad" scent, but because it is so unobtrusive and naturally beautiful that people who smell the perfume on you will probably be envious that you simply smell so beautiful by nature.
And that's what makes it so elegant in my eyes.
The fragrance literally says: "I don't need to distract from my wearer (I find it rather feminine), she shines enough on her own. I emphasize her inner and outer beauty only in the right moments. And these moments only come when someone proves to be worthy of getting closer to my wearer.

If it wasn't so expensive, this would be a fragrance I would definitely buy to have something at hand that I can wear to any situation to feel good.

Finest fragrance I've ever smelled
I have only been working with scents for a short time, but today I had to experience on my own body what scents can do to people.
When I smelled him for the first time this afternoon, I felt as if my life had suddenly become more beautiful.
I have also sniffed a few other fragrances from L'Art et La Matiere, but from the first moment, I was enchanted by the Tonka Imperial.

In the first moment, something never before smelled so strongly in perfumes, which then turned out to be rosemary. Since I have an incredible weakness for this spice, it's no wonder that the note had this effect on me.
Afterwards, the warmth came directly through the almond, which probably reminds everyone so much of Christmas. Although I see the connection only minimally. For me it almost smells like honey. This "honey scent" changes a little bit with time, but basically remains the same all the time (by the way, I think that what smells like honey to me is actually jasmine). The more time goes by, the woody the scent becomes and the more the incense comes to the fore, which only makes it more attractive to me.
The fragrance is still excellent (7 hours), even if the sillage is not very big.
This is a fragrance that I could wear all my life and eventually will. So seductive and yet gentle and elegant at the same time. If one fragrance can give you self-confidence, then this one will.
For me it is the perfect fragrance for the evening, or for going out for dinner. You do attract attention, but you would never look as if you were trying to impress with the scent.
I found it very feminine at first, but after a few hours I have to say that I can imagine the fragrance also very well on men.

I couldn't leave the shop without buying Tonka Impériale. He seduced me and now, probably for the first time in my life, I'm addicted to something. I don't want to miss him anymore, if it wasn't love at first sight, then I don't know either.

If the scent were a song, I'd put him in touch directly with Dolly Parton's Jolene
