Piapedersen

This starts out fresh and sharp; grapefruit and pepper and something watery. After a few minutes it warms up and becomes a beautiful rosy vanilla with a depth I can not explan, probably the musk lurking in the background. This is not complex or in any way a primadonna, but it has an honesty, that is worth trying - maybe you'll like it.
The most interesting about the bottle is the wooden top, giving you the impression of something natural and healthy. The box has lovely guilded decorations on white.
Boiling it down to matter, this is lovely, not impressive. Wear it on a rainy day and your mood will be lifted :)

This one has character. Period. I know a few people who wrinkle their nose at Oriflame's fragrances, stating that they are all copies of more famous, fashionable and expensive scents. I have quite a few of this brand's lovely ones and I find most of them delightful, wearable and sold at a reasonable price.
AEN is one of its kind. Spicy in the opening, but after a few minutes the vanilla comes forward and this mix can easily keep up with a scent so famous and respected as Dior Addict. Sillage is fair, less than an arm's length but the longevity! Wauw, I must say! Marvellous. It is a bit like carrying a secret for a long time, being able to keep it close to your heart without anyone knowing :)
I even like the bottle. That is where I think Oriflame usually fall behind, not paying enough attention to design. But this bottle is wonderfully heavy, classy with metallic top, a bit like something you picked up at the apothecary in the late 1880s... All in all, well done. Recommendable.

Sometimes when I turn on the radio in my car and listen to the different tracks being played I cannot help wondering: Has it finally happened? Has the world run dry of new combinations of notes and words, so that from now on we shall never hear a new track or song - every combination has already been created?! But then there is always a surprise, a new beat, a new voice capable of adding something new and interesting to the music scene. Luckily.
It happens sometimes, when smelling a new scent, that I stop and wonder: has it finally happened? Has the world run dry of new combinations of notes? Shall we never ever smell something outstanding and inventive? But then I get my hands on something new and beautiful or interesting. Luckily.
Unfortunately that is not the case with Midnight Wishes... My first thought after spraying was: "oh yeah, this is... I know this one... what's its name... Come on, I know it!..." This one disappears in the crowd of all other standard fruity-foral-vanilla-mainstream scents. Likeable but too boring for my taste.

This is a fragrance that has it all. The phases are all beautiful, the strength is indisputable and the depth is magical. You are swallowed by this; brought to a distant place and not bothering; embraced and feeling safe. I recognise that this COULD be considered as a seductive scent, but to me it is warm and open, a bit mystical so it leaves you inttrigued and puzzled. You want more!
Unfortunately, I only have a sample of this. I would like to have a 100ml bottle and 3 extras in my stash. That would make me feel safe. This is definitely a winner.

Yesterday I tried this out for the first time. When I put it on, I immediately thought "this reminds me of something..." After a couple of hours, working in my garden, it struck me: Be Delicious by DKNY. But Lucia is SO much better.
It is not as simple as BD. It keeps working on my skin and eventhough I can only read three notes here, I am sure that there must be at least ten. But I am not very good at working out the notes. I am positive, though, that there must be more than the three mentioined.
Bottom line:This is a beautiful fragrance, good for spring and summer. Fresh, flowery and light, not sweet at all. Should you ever find this discontinued gem, do buy it. It is really something. Unfortunately its longevity is not more than 3-4 hours. it stays close to the skin, sillage is average. Even so, I still recommend this.
