My lucky day
Today is my birthday... What do I receive in the mail? A 30ml sealed edt Tendre Poison, bought from a woman, who has had it on her shelf for 10 years and never got around to opening it! How lucky can one be?
I had this scent 15-20 years ago, when it was a new and exciting flanker of the original Poison, which I at that time did not like ( this has changed), and I loved it. I have always had a thing for fresh, acidic scents, and this suited me so well. I went through my 30 ml pretty quickly but did not have the money to purchase a Dior perfume, so I didn't - what a mistake. I was not even thinking of the possibility of it being discontinued. Had I known, I would have saved money, stopped eating for two months and bought a heap of this lovely scent.
I cannot get myself to open the sealed box. I will put it on my shelf... sorry, shelves and perhaps, on a rainy day, or when I feel totally miserable, I will open this gem and enjoy the unique smell of Tendre Poison.

A decent flower fragrance
This fragrance is a bit hard to work out. To me it is a bunch of flowers, sweet, a little citric and fairly discrete. It has an intense vanilla note which compliments the other notes beautifully. The longevity 8-10 hours. Sillage is poor. I had to sniff my arm several times to assure myself that it was still there. Next time I sprayed it on my chest and neck area, and that worked a lot better.
To me this scent becomes boring quite quickly. It smells good, yes, but that is all. Nothing happens during the hours that you wear it. I bought it because I found an offer I could not resist, and since there were no reviews I became curious. Luckily, I did not empty my account.
I hope Herbalife has more interesting perfumes to offer.

Ispahan the Great
First time we met, Ispahan and I, was at a friend's house. She was in the middle of moving, and packing down her things was apparently something she had postponed for too long. When I came by she was trying to make all her stuff fit into the moving boxes she had bought for the purpose. I made myself helpful by emptying some of her shelves in the bedroom. When showing her some of the many bottles that were on her vanity she said "hey, you can have them". So, among Byzance, White Linen and other jewels that are all used long ago, was Ispahan. A big bottle.
Having these was a real treat. Being a student with no money, I was so thrilled that a friend gave all these fairly expensive perfumes. So I made a big mistake by not being the least curious about the Yves Rocher bottle. I knew at that time that this was inexpensive perfumes and therefore I jumped to the conclusion that it was also uninteresting perfumes with no qualities. Oh dear, how wrong I was. Luckily, I became wiser :)
When finally I found it i the back of the closet and tried it I was stunned by its personality. It has great longevity, moderate sillage and an absolutely wonderful development. It starts out spicy, really spicy and a hint of vanilla. After half an hour the scent softens into a vanilla-nutmeg-tonkabean mix with tiny whiffs of flowers, and it stays like this for 3-5 hours. The last phase is vanilla. So lovely. The only drawback is that if you spray it too close to your face, your nose and mouth are overwhelmed with it and you start tasting it. So be careful.
I like the bottle. It is pretty simple and the colour is deep. I just wish that they would not use plastic. Glass bottles are so beautiful and classy so why on earth (I know: money!) do they make it out of plastic? But there is nothing wrong with the vessel here. It prepares the user for what is inside, in my opinion.
Since it is discontinued but still sold on ebay for a reasonable amount of money, I would not hesitate to recommend this to everybody. This is really a great perfume. So good luck hunting.

DKN-Yes!
I love Donna Karan's more mature scents. I am not a huge fan of the apples though I recognise the appeal to young people. BlackCashmere, Cashmere Mist, Gold and Donna Karan on the other hand are great and interesting perfumes, all of them. But the only one I own is gold Gold Sparkling. I wish I had them all!
Gold Sparkling is a very lovely scent indeed. Sharp and fresh, a tiny bit bitter but first of all: delicious. This is a fragrance for daytime. I would wear it when going to a café, shopping, lunch, a day out in the sun and for work. I would not wear it while doing sports (the bitter note makes the sweat more obvious), at dinner, or on a romantic date. Actually, that is one thing like about this scent: to me it seems obvious what it is all about.
It has an immense longevity. It stays in your clothes for days and that is amazing since it is so fresh. Usually the fresh scents do not last long on me (ô de lancome, vv de verino etc.) But this does. It stays close to the skin, so you offend no one. But YOU can smell it :)
The flacon is very classy and seems inspired by some of the wonderful Japanese masterpieces from kenzo, miyake and shiseido. Nature refined, but still nature. Using the raw materials' unique structure instead of changing them into something you can not recognise. Black Cashmere has that same beautiful, Japanese feeling to it as well, shaped as a stone. I think Donna did a great job here :)
Thumbs up for Gold Sparkling!

In memory of Margit Brandt
The scent is named after the deceased Danish designer, Margit Brandt (1945-2011). It was created posthumously, and I believe her husband, Erik Brandt, has come up with the main idea. They worked closely together since their marriage in 1966, and they became quite succesful.
The scent is very similar to Elie Saab le Parfum. It starts out with the same beautiful orange blossom, though a bit more citric and sharp. Since I am very fond of citrus notes, this only improves the experience whereas everyone who is more into the flowery notes of ES will find it a degradation. The top works for one to two hours and then the jasmine suddenly takes over. Warm honey and jasmine keep finding the way to your nose for at least one hour. The cedarwood ends the party, which is a soft landing after five to six hours.
I find the scent beautiful, and I can definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Elie Saab. Both longevity and sillage are better than average and that makes the price reasonable. But I am not sure if it is still for sale. I bought my bottle from an old lady who hadn't even smelled it. She got it from her son as a gift but hadn't felt tempted to try it.
The bottle is lovely; classic and nice to hold. I like the simplicity and the detail with the black top.
