In Praise Of ...

Sonoma Scent Studio. I have just started to familiarize myself with this niche line because over at BN they praise it to high heaven. It is a one woman operation. Her website is very orderly arranged, provides all the perfume and background information you would want to know, the scents are multiple and seemingly of very good quality. That remains to be seen after I dive into the various sample offers. First I want to travel around the internet a little more and google various reviews of the offerings, and then make up my mind which ones to order.

The owner/perfumer, Laurie Erickson, also has a blog which deals with current news in the field, and much more, and I added my name to the mailing list. I just love it when somebody writes good. Plenty of photos, also. See this link:

Okay, which one to order? I narrowed it down to "Fig Tree". A natural rendition? We shall see (I mean sniff). Internet conversations have it that the scent is so much like "real fig tree aroma" that the Greek blogger lady Elena Vosnaki was very impressed as she "certainly knows fig". The 5 ml travel spray was a good deal. This firm deals with rather small sizes which I think is good. My order was quickly placed via PayPal and a free sample was offered for which I picked "Rose Volupte" (a yummy rose?).

Of course the thought occurred to me what such a small home based studio enterprise will do when the EU allergy regulations and the continuing IFRA regulations pound on such an independent company. She complies with all current regulations - has a spot on her website for just notes and ingredients - see this and enjoy, I learned a lot.

And in particular, the much discussed Oakmoss -

Update:

I was reading her Blog and right now she has a Draw on the occasion of her 10th Anniversary.
