A noble scent
I have had, and tried, many Amber perfumes. But this one is top. Based upon reading about Geza Schoen's efforts to use excellent ingredients, I like to confirm that they shine through in this creation. The price is accordingly steep, but there are no regrets. You can buy 5 spray bottles of 8 ML and have travel sizes and gifts for others.

So as I am sitting comfortably in a chair, reading about bitcoins, my mind starts to wander as the delicious wafts of scent travel from my right arm into the surrounding air.

The opening is fresh and minced with light citrus elements. The middle gets thicker, and I am reminded of French milled soap, of that lasting rich creaminess. Speaking of lasting, this perfume lasts many many hours and then rests on the skin like a patchouli, amber and musk harmony. All in all, to me it seems like a slightly salty amber perfume, but amber is not in the foreground, the whole composition is so light, airy and still creamy and ever so lightly powdery that it is actually difficult to pinpoint a definite note standing out. Very discreet and elegant, suitable for men also, I believe.

This is not a perfume that announces the wearer, rather it becomes a part of the presence of the person.

That's it. The glass bottle is nice for display but that is only an object, the scent in it counts, and that I bought in travel sprays.

The Henri Bendel Department Store signature perfume
Henri Bendel fashions his store as "the ultimate girls playground" and elegant women shop there. This scent announces "here we are", in the spirit of cheerfulness.

The scent opens right away with a noticeable fruity/velvety note, I cannot point my finger on the exact configuration. It continues rather straightforward to a warm woody base with some musk mixed into it. In full bloom there is something luminous about it, something light and fluffy.

That is the idea of "shop until we drop". A scent to remember, to remember the good times.

There is also a scented candle. Not even lit, it scents up the drawer where I have stored it.

Not Tihota
Tihota smells pure and angelic, this thick vanilla scent is much stronger and more powdery. The rum note does not hurt either.

A freshly baked poundcake comes to mind.

The scent opens full and creamy and barely changes after that. Longevity is very good.

Worth every penny because it smells exquisite. A make feel good scent, I can wear this every day.

A Summer Breeze
There are better and more expensive scents in my collection, and yet, those are not the only criteria. What is attractive about this particular perfume? Hard to pinpoint at first sniff ... the fresh strong cloud can be overwhelming and strident but, and here is the but, this is only a short moment and the perfume dries down beautifully. There are fruity notes and even candy notes. Good to wear and feel comfortable in. Especially in the Summer heat.

Well, I got it as a gift on a vacation stay on the Mediterranean island Majorca but all pleasant Summer associations aside, it is a good "go to" scent, one large spray under your clothes and then it lasts warm and long.

The next day, there are the lingering notes of cedar wood, very pleasant and lasting ... and only a full shower can finally wash off the quality remnants of a good perfume.

Loewe makes leather goods, there is a faint leather note although not listed.

In short, not world history making, but worth acquiring.

More than pretty in pink (pepper)
So I followed the notes and bought this perfume blindly. Well and good, it is not a waste but not as glorious as the reviews on the German twin site make it sound. As if they found the holy grail. That is not the case here and I have written more enthusiastic reviews of other gems that I have. Where I said, "Now THAT is a nice perfume!" and could not stop sniffing it.
But I want to be fair to the perfume and the maker and the whole presentation.
The Ankh is a symbol of eternal life and the poetic idea was to combine this with love. Love for beauty, love for life, love. Is the perfume beautiful? Yes, it cannot be denied that it is well made. It begins with a crisp pink pepper note which does not entirely disappear throughout. Creamy jasmine follows and soft orange blossoms hold the heart. The base gets a bit softer, I can detect patchouli and the perfume finishes after about five hours in a pleasant skin scent. There is very little change or development, just potent pink pepper and flowers in harmony.
One generous spray in the beginning can already be overwhelming until the less brilliant heart notes come through. Yet, the sillage is moderate, it is just the sharpness of the pink pepper that is remarkable to the point of bothering.
I found my way around this dilemma - I decanted it and don't use the full blast spraying method, instead I dab very slightly at the pulse points, with feather light strokes, and the effect is much more diffused and softer than a spray which leaves a wet trace on the skin. Then the sillage is like a cloud and much more subtle. Apply this perfume under your clothes and let it warm up.
So, we are friends after all and I did not have to put it out on the Souk or find other ways to get rid of it. (Reason: "See, you bought this one hastily, and now see what you have got!")
