~ Nu-gere Fougere Invasion ~
~ How do you sit down and attempt to add something constructive to a famed fougere bottle that's been reviewed from every angle? Out of the mouth of babes perhaps? I asked my youngest son at the kitchen table what this scent reminded him of? I was surprised when he said, "Dad this reminds me of the fanciest store at the mall....you know the one with the escalator and pretty salesladies in dresses with lots of fancy new things on the shelves!" As simple as that is from a child's imagination it does fit the image that IB gives of everything new, upscale and elegant. This newness image surely must be found in the powdery cardamom and lavender but it's the long lasting grapefruit and violet opening that's making the sales pitch here and a very persuasive one indeed! Simple yet complex, fresh yet sparkling, light yet deep, calming yet invigorating. Perhaps the most pricy versatile people-pleaser money can buy! When my sample is done I may find I will start an "Invasion" fund for a full bottle but the artistic bust topper will have to wait! I have too many other new children's toys to buy at that fancy store in the mall!

PS Oh yes, 10/10!

~ Inviting Tea ~
~ This Bvlgari deserves a description that some may shy away from. To my nose the "S" in soir describes a sexy, sensual, subtle scent for a man. It's meant to be enjoyed on a date with that special someone and to complete the evenings gentlemanly handsome wardrobe. The inviting cup of tea you pour for her is steeped in citrus with warm papyrus and sweetened with the amber in the last drops of the drydown. You will smell sophisticated and tastefully discrete while your intimate date night with Soir's longevity will last a longtime past the goodnight kiss.

~ Noir Neutral ~
~ I have never read reviews or watched video opinions on this TF before other than what I have seen on forum replies and the chain of notes above. I have this on my arm now as I type and I am completely neutral in my initial impression of testing. Of course I get the rose, chocolate (and red wine perhaps?) and it appears to remain the same and linear in the last two hours I have worn it. It is a touch sweet as I am getting more vanilla but perhaps too rich for the type of scent I usually enjoy. The dominant rose here no doubt will be the redeeming factor for my final opinion because I do enjoy florals. It definitely smells well blended and like it's price tag, expensive! My initial impression is this could be worn by a mature, elegant, confident woman or a man of the same but not just any man. He would need to be well dressed and well spoken and with this sprayed on his lapel would be complete!

- I have seen this mentioned in "sexy scent" threads but to my nose this is more about power and magnetism in a bottle!

~ Smooth D&G Casanova ~
~ Based purely on a generous sample gift of the vintage original formulation. This homme invokes in me the scent of a smooth operating Casanova. With it's long lasting lemon/lavender opening it surely had lured in many a wearer and wooed admiring noses in it's true smooth sandalwood sillage! My loyalty to Platinum Egoiste has kept me from discovering other nineties gems but this is one I am glad someone knew it is "a must try" sensual gentleman's scent. The sweet tobacco here is subtle, suave and oozes elegant sophistication. The lingering basenotes to me is where the tonka and wood work their magic captivating my taste. This would be a great D&G to rediscover as it's popularity in the spotlight has decreased but what a statement it could still make! I have never smelled the reformulation and I would be afraid to now and tarnish the image of my treasured 5ml of this masculine perfumery classic.

~ Spring Rose & Spice ~
~ Perfumer Ms Laurent has captured her creations intent by making my own "heart beat faster" and now "speaking my mind" with praise for this handsome perfume! I have had d'un Soir suggested to me many times as a formal gentleman's scent but always resisted, that is until now! This doesn't fail to evoke a pleasant image and it suits me well. If you are man reading this and are hesitant of rose notes rest easy! The unisex creation I find here in pepper and wood balances out the sensitive romantic notes of rose and cardamom to perfection. All with no fear of the cumin note as it is very subdued compared to the original. The smooth sweet dry down carries me back to pleasant memories of the green spring rose garden and country home of my youth. A charming fresh sillage with great longevity in tasteful glass that will compliment any shelf of the finest niche bottles.
Kind Regards, Plat ~
