With Wysel Gyr to Kashmir
I realize that only a few people here know Wysel Gyr. He was the Swiss equivalent of Karl Moik or Carolin Reiber, and "Öisi Musig" was comparable to "Musikantenstadl". To my amazement, my mother, who actually detested folk music, kept indulging in dreams in which she was travelling through Kashmir with Wysel Gyr. To yodel and wave flags? This idea made me feel quite uneasy. Why Kashmir of all places? I will unfortunately no longer be able to find out.

Years later, I finally had the pleasure to experience "cashmere " olfactory: "Casmir" by Chopard. My colleague at the time used this fragrance more than generously. As fragrances were not yet reformulated at the time, I got a full broadside practically every day! Discreetly pointing out to her that the scent was too much, unbearably vanilla-y with undertones of slightly sour apricot baby mush and gave me a headache? No way! She had an extremely sensitive mind :)
And we didn't have any spacing rules back then either! Fortunately, the cooperation did not last too long, and "Casmir" soon belonged to the past.

Recently, a practically full test bottle fell into my hands, at a truly ridiculous price (didn't know Chopard was Swiss, for me it was always "très français " :) Shouldn't one strike there? Despite dislike in times long past?
Well, the bottle was already beautiful. Probably a Stupa (Buddhist building) modeled after.

But, what was that? The fragrance was exquisitely matured during decades of abstinence on my part (or I finally ripe for this fragrance :)

The scent does start with the expected vanilla, but actually very nicely garnished with fresh fruit salad, coconut thankfully very subtle. This vanilla smells pleasant, not pappsüss, the woody notes are able to prevent this skillfully. Over time, I find the scent to be more floral. Beautiful jasmine makes its presence felt, as does rose geranium. I don't notice anything of the lily of the valley. But somehow I find lily of the valley in oriental fragrances a little out of place anyway, I don't know why! Over time, the scent becomes alternately woody-vanilla, then soft-floral again. Later, one or the other little fruit winks again. Exciting :)

Conclusion: I am pleasantly surprised! Either this fragrance has been reformulated beyond recognition, or merely the overdose of this fragrance at the time has triggered my (indeed unjustified) antipathy.

Thank you for reading my errors and confusions with Casmir :)

There....And Gone?....Wow....
Cleaning is dull. Nachputzen, because the room keeper hired for lack of time has cleaned slovenly, even duller and also annoying. Sometimes but schnöde cleaning work also has its good, especially if you meet perfume samples when cleaning up :)

The prelude of "Wow" is designed, as if from a wooden cabinet me a smorgasbord of spices tumbles against. I smell cinnamon. Maybe even some clove?

Subsequently, nothing more....What? Already over?

Then the scent then turns up again, the spices have discreetly removed and a wonderfully sweet violet scent wraps me unobtrusively! Now and then the cinnamon sticks his head in the door. Is this really a men's fragrance?

Cardamom is listed in the fragrance pyramid. Hmm, interesting....for me cardamom smells somehow different. Since I often spice my coffee with cardamom, I am actually very familiar with it. Cinnamon and cloves it has to my astonishment none in it...there I have probably mistaken me with the handle in the cabinet...Oh never mind...

The violet is very dominant, but in a light and sweet way, most reminiscent of violet sorbet. I definitely feel this violet is quite feminine. When the spices come to the fore again, the scent seems masculine again. Definitely wearable for all genders.

Vanilla and tonka give the warm base, yet the fragrance is not overly sweet, but remains pleasant. Over time, I also perceive the fir balsam, which I like rather less, because it then begins to remind me of "Le Mâle " by Gaultier, although it fortunately lacks its penetrance.

All in all, yet a pleasant and beautiful fragrance, with which one certainly does not attract negative attention, because it is spicy, but still discreet.

This perfume is advertised with a black panther, which seems to me entirely inappropriate, for this the fragrance is too "tame".

But who is looking for a gentle spicy-floral fragrance for the upcoming Advent season, with which you do not slay his environment, could be happy with "Wow".

Irish Spring
It's so green when Ireland's blossoms bloom....In the original it was of course called "Spain's blossoms", but I'm not Eliza Doolittle :)
Unfortunately I don't know Ireland (yet), but it's high on my list of desired destinations. Until it is so far, I console myself with this nice little water, which seems to me extremely sympathetic, natural and strangely familiar. A true "Uisce Beatha" (water of life), for once not to drink ;)

I remember green-striped bar soaps in my grandparents' bathroom, which gave off a strong and fresh scent (I think they were even called "Irish Spring" or something like that :) After I was put into the warm bath in the evening as a child, this soapy scent then mixed with the smell of the alpine meadows as I lay in bed later. The ringing of the little bells of the animals in the pasture accompanied me to sleep. Patrick" reminds me of exactly this scent! I do not perceive any floral nuances. Patrick smells mildly spicy, mossy, a little herbaceous and simple

Green Green Green! :)

I gave this cologne to my dad for his last birthday. He had always wanted fragrances! In his younger years, he wore "Pasha" by Cartier. But since you can no longer tolerate strong fragrances so well in advanced age, my choice fell on "Patrick", especially since my father knew Ireland and liked the country and people very much. He liked the fragrance immediately!

The creations of "Fragrances of Ireland" are made without animal testing. "Patrick" is said to be the "national scent" of Ireland, named after the national saint Patrick, who put an end to a plague of snakes on the Emerald Isle. In Ireland, there are now no more snakes :)

Patrick. What else?

Jack of all trades
The rose is not for nothing called "Queen of flowers" and praised in numerous poems, songs and literature. Rose fragrance has a harmonizing, relaxing, anti-anxiety, appetite suppressant, but sometimes also stimulating and as an aphrodisiac. In addition, rose oil has antibiotic, virucidal, fungicidal, anti-inflammatory....
Rose is used for perfuming, body and hair care, in natural medicine and in cooking. A true gift of nature!
Rose fragrance also plays a major role in religion. Were accompanied nevertheless numerous Marienerscheinungen by miraculous rose smell. Furthermore, according to reports of hospices for the dying, this fragrance is used to facilitate the last hours for patients.

Since I noticed with astonishment that numerous people do not like rose scent (except perhaps in connection with animal odors), I wanted to break now simply times a thorn or lance for this wonderful plant :)

"Rose absolue" is, as the name already suggests, pure rose. Authentic, fresh, rose just! No dark red baccara, no tea rose, no artificial pink cultivation. For me, the scent most closely resembles a pale pink or even apricot garden rose.

Since Annick Goutal fragrances are generally a bit more expensive and "Rose absolue" is not characterized by excessive durability, but you can definitely trust that really genuine essential rose oils from around the world were used. Only then can you benefit from the fabulous effect of rose fragrance on the mind!

For going out, the scent is too weak, for's office too bad. Rather for the garden party, dance tea or even the church :-)

A true gem for all rose lovers.

Dreams aren't foams, they're, um...sticky
What a wonderfully pretty bottle! I blinked and the view came into focus. Tall, slender, turquoise and with a sparkling lid! Before I could take this gem to myself I was abruptly jolted out of my dream by the beeping of my cell phone. Confused I started into the day. Was I already so far that I now DREAMED of perfumes?

Weeks later in my favorite perfumery, I stopped as if rooted to the spot and could hardly believe my eyes....Da. Stand. It. The bottle from my dream! I had definitely never seen it before, I would have noticed it! I bought it immediately, without having tested it at all (I usually never do that).

Bullseye! Sweet, creamy, vanilla, spicy (the star anise in it was fortunately subtle, because I don't like anise that much). Over time, the scent became softly woody. The longevity was enormous, sprayed on in the morning I could still perceive it well in the evening. Although sweet-gourmandig is not usually one of my favorite fragrances, "Réminiscence " just made me happy!

Unfortunately, the joy did not last long. The fragrance did not tip, but it mutated into a tough, bubblegum-like mass! Sticky, slimy worm tortured itself out of the bottle! I was stunned. Yet I had carefully stored the fragrance in a cool, dark place!

At some point, I lost the bottle, I had put it out of sight, because I did not even want to look at him.

Réminiscence is now no longer available in stores and can no longer be found on the Internet. Quasi from one day to the other disappeared from the face of the earth!

Fortunately, there's the fragrance but still (or at least very close as I find):

"Coromandel" by Chanel!!!
