Burning logs flit through the Jazz Club
I have already written what I consider to be a very detailed commentary on Jazz Club and I think this fragrance is wonderful. With one of the most beautiful I have ever smelled. Now Jazz by the Fire is supposed to be a combination of the Jazz Club and the By the Fireplace and that's half true I would say. You would think that in this fragrance you have tried to combine the two originals at 50/50 each, but that doesn't work. The "Jazz Club" is clearly dominating and in this fragrance a splash of roughness from the "By the Fireplace" was added.

Since the Replica series tries to represent certain scenarios as scents, one could imagine that someone with a burning log from the campfire, like such a speedster in the soccer station once briefly scurried through the jazz club and left a slightly smoky touch in the club. :)

Herod Intense? More like Herod Light!²
I cannot understand how some people here come up with a Herod Intense designation. I have been sniffing both scents alternately for 15 minutes and recognize the Herod in this scent but it smells more like I have been smelling Herod for ages and he is just at the point where you can only smell a slight residue of Herod. But it is not so that you cannot smell him anymore, but he smells very soft in comparison. You have to imagine that you have been using Herod for 8 hours, all the scents have melted into each other and are just about to leave your skin so that you can only smell him very slightly. You take this smell then and turn the power regulator up again. Thereby you can perceive it again very well but it doesn't smell like in the beginning. This is how I would describe it in layman's terms :)

LNDL... not less but also not more
I was actually very excited about this fragrance because I really love LNDL and wear this fragrance to 90%. Until now, because my last reserves from the year 2014 are coming to an end and unfortunately these were not the strongest years of this fragrance. I don't really want to buy this new, watered-down plörre anymore and that's exactly why the Midnight Rendezvous was something like a glimmer of hope.

Well, so I got myself a bottling in the souk and counter-tested it first on the back of my hand in a 1:1 comparison against the original from 2014 and then applied the fragrance correctly for another day and tried it out in everyday life.

To make a long story short:
It really smells like LNDL, I have hardly noticed a real difference. But that was it then unfortunately. No trace of the hoped for better H+S. Unfortunately!

Smoke, smoke and then smoke
Contrary to all the good reviews here, here's a comment from a rather amateurish nose ... my :D.

On the test strip he still smells quite ok and I can actually recognize the honey and a little bit of other smells besides the tobacco, but I can't name them. But when I spray it on the back of my hand it gets so smoky that I smell as if I just came out of a café where everybody is smoking. I smell nothing but smoke. Horrible and really so bad that I didn't even want to spray it on myself to test it completely in one day.

Is that tea I smell?
Today I was in a larger branch of the turquoise giant where they also had rare designer and niche fragrances and wanted to have a look at the assortment to gain more experience besides what I'm currently collecting in the souk. I also came across the Replica fragrances and got my hands on "Replica - Jazz Club". My expectations were really not big. Since I'm still a bit naive about them, these scents seem to be something between designer and niche and don't cost too much I thought to myself "they won't be that great - after all, I've ordered at least 20 far more expensive scents in the souk so far and even then nothing really blew me away". There was once a "Herod" or "oajan" or even "Oud for Greatness" which I found great but they didn't trigger anything in me that I still had to think about them an hour later

So I was all the more surprised by the "Replica - Jazz Club". I hardly got the palm of my hand off my nose half a day today, when I arrived at home I had to go to the computer immediately to look at the scent's reviews and videos and even now, several hours later, it's still buzzing around in my head so much that it made me write my first comment on a scent.

I am, as already mentioned, still super new to the perfume game and recognizing scents is as easy as maneuvering my heavy weightlifter ass over a wire rope. In other words, it is almost impossible. But if I had to try to describe him I would say he is really wonderful, attractive, slightly sweet vanilla, discreetly tobacco like, masculine and yet soo ... hmmm, somehow soft and unobtrusive although he was taken really well. To recognize the scents is as mentioned my big strength *wink* ;) and what he reminded me of is not included in the description and comments but somehow he reminds me of a really delicious tea. Something like black tea with vanilla or something. I can't say for sure. Anyway, I took a 10ml bottle in the souk to test it more intensively but I think I must have it. I can imagine it really well on a date but also in everyday life because it is so unobtrusive. The shelf life was also not bad on my skin. It's not a monster with 12+ hours but it lasted 6-8 hours and with the price of only 75€ for 100ml you can't complain.
