Only the batch counts
The legend of Aventus, or rather the fallen legend?
First of all I love this fragrance, I would be willing to pay the price for quality and I know the batch discussion is annoying. Unfortunately there is no way around it, what Creed has done with this masterpiece in the last few years is a tragedy beyond compare
Unfortunately, I currently own the batch CM4219U01 and only want to judge the fragrance, it is very fruity and very citrusy at the beginning, the pineapple comes a bit stronger with time, smoky or even leathery I don't even take it was not even in the course.
To the course or the durability is to be said that I find them with this batch, for this price as an absolute disaster and impudence. With me the smell becomes generous after maximally 2 hours very closely. After a maximum of 6 hours basically nothing smells on my skin anymore. As I said for 300€ per 100ml, I feel that this is absolutely subterranean and I will probably only have the Dupes, which of course can never keep up with the delicacy of an Aventus, but only very practiced noses, 99.9% of all people do not smell that. In particular, there are dupes which, in terms of durability, leave the new batches completely in the rain.

Conclusion: I am extremely disappointed with the development this wonderful perfume has made, the sale to a billion dollar company will most likely make it even worse. I think it's time to bury the perfume with the potential to become a legend. It's been great with you, but you probably missed your chance to step down a long time ago, instead Creed sold your soul beyond recognition.

Comparison
With this perfume probably only a comparison to the great Aventus is possible. Why not, Nero wants to be an Aventus, and in my opinion, almost is. The comparison here is based on a very new batch of Aventus, so enormously fruity and unfortunately hardly smoky and with no particularly good shelf life.

I find the top note of Nero to be clearly more animal, but this citric component runs through the entire fragrance but decreases significantly.
Nero then becomes very, very similar to his role model. I think that 95% of all people here would not notice any difference.
Personally, I find Nero a little less finely tuned, a little more aggressive and overall a nuance more fruity than the current Aventus batches. Smokiness I perceive only extremely minimally.

In terms of durability it is on my skin after about 3.5 hours close to the skin and after 5-6 hours only very slightly perceptible,
so he scores slightly better than his great role model.

All in all, if Creed doesn't quickly return to his old strength, I would absolutely recommend Nero. An amateur perfumer will never know the difference.

I have ordered a sample because I am a big fan of the smell of black tea and this specimen is said to correspond to the scent.

I personally find it to be a very herbaceous variation of its namesake, but unfortunately not as a fine balanced scent of freshly brewed chai.
My not perfume-affine testers* the smell reminded once of Maggi herb and once of Bulgarian instant coffee, I would not go so far it is to me personally clearly too spicy and too little sweet.

Feelings
I am very fresh in the "perfume game" and this is my first comment.

I dedicate it to a perfume that I couldn't get out of my head from the first time I smelled refugees on a test strip

When I recently received my first bottle, after the first spraying on my skin, it triggered feelings for which I would have declared people crazy just half a year ago when they talk about a perfume in this way.

For me as an inexperienced nose my absolute favorite perfume by far.
