The American way of the tea ceremony
As a self-confessed tea drinker and tea lover I come of course olfactory not past tea perfumes. Meanwhile, I was allowed to test quite a few tea scents and this one has remained particularly in my memory:

The start is just wonderful! When spraying on such an original matcha note comes to light, which immediately brings me back to Japan in a tea ceremony. I, in the kimono, holding the steaming bowl of tea in the hands, which my predecessor lovingly whipped up with the bamboo whisk. A moment of peace. I have yet to smell that in a perfume!

The pleasure is unfortunately, however, instantly over again. Just as you are supposed to empty the matcha bowl in 3 sips, Replica has implemented the experience too seriously and already 10 minutes later my bowl is empty.

In a real tea ceremony, sweets are also eaten, called Wagashi. In this fragrance then also a lot of sweetness appears, but rather something in the creamy direction. The fragrance pyramid talks about white chocolate here. This light sweetness is then mixed with white flowers. This sounds harmonious and to me it also smells like that!

This brings me to the conclusion that matcha is a niche tea. But in order for matcha to expand its success into the modern world outside of traditional Japan, additives had to be added:

Milk and sugar.

As a matcha latte, green tea made it not only to the modern cafes of Tokyo, but also to America and Starbucks. And thus to the whole world. The masses just don't like tart and bitter, they like sweet. This is probably exactly why Replica thought the scent would be better received if it wasn't just tart, or as some even say "fishy".

So the Japanese became an American tea ceremony: in a to-go mug with cream and sugar and a piece of cake to go with it. First matcha and then jasmine tea. From tart to smooth. From bitter to sweet.

Even if I would wish that the matchanote in this fragrance stays much longer, this fragrance convinces me. It remains namely despite everything a harmonious and creamy-fine tea fragrance, which is unlike most tea fragrances not only in the summer wearable.

Matcha latte is indeed betrayal of the "Ur-Matcha" but still better than no matcha at all...

Thanks for reading! :-) And if you like matcha or green tea with milk and jasmine, try this scent!

Childhood and carrot sunscreen
Does anyone else know of this one carotene sunscreen?

This is for me since my childhood the epitome of summer, because my mother has always worn it then and I then of course. Unfortunately, there are these already a few years in Germany no longer to buy. Too bad, because we liked the fragrance so well!

When I held my filling of Nettare di Sole in my hand and sprayed it expectantly, this long-lost fragrance rose again in my nose. And suddenly came THE summer feeling: bathing on the beach, sand on the skin, feet in the grass, eyes closed.
Time stands still. Life shines.

And so it came to pass that the scent of childhood was in the air again. I simply associate it with good mood and lightheartedness. At the same time, the scent of sunscreen is really not the one you think of first, but quite atypical: slightly tart, but still also a little sweet, floral and clean. More like a fresh breeze than a cool wet.

For me, it is very difficult to pick out individual fragrance notes here. Much more, this fragrance seems universal and elegant in its entirety. He is something special and that makes him for me a wonderful summer companion. In addition, the name is perfectly chosen and the bottle is anyway an eye-catcher.

For me, this fragrance catches but just not only looks, but also memories. Memories of holidays and beautiful moments of life.

Thank you for reading!

Not what they think I am
It's summer
I'm sitting on the beach of the Côte d'Azur
with the rich and beautiful
A sundowner in my hand
Feet in the sand
with white dress
to make my tanned skin glow

The illusion is perfect
But it's not real
Actually, I'm not rich at all
Nor as special as I'd like to be
Now I have to pay off my holiday loan

- All in all, a nice fragrance though, with a great citrusy creamy opening, but then drifts into the mainstream and gets lost in the masses of sunscreen fragrances. Chic bottle, but the price is in my opinion not in proportion to the performance what S / H or even the fragrance itself.

Balmy summer night
Since I can't get around tonka bean, I just had to try this scent!

Deep Garden is a surprising fragrance for me: from the first moment I notice a different sweetness. Not fleeting and unimpressive - but more adult and so not 08/15! The name really fits here, it is a fragrance with depth. I smell an arrangement of almost ripe tuberose combined with the depth-giving tonka bean and a nice hint of sweet pear. The combo works very well for me, everything blends together nicely. It also lasts longer than average on the skin for a fragrance in its price range. I love wearing it in the first warm evenings of this year...

My Heart
There is one comment about this fragrance that is particularly close to my heart:

Before my passion for perfumes began, I only tried fragrances when the bottles captivated me. So Mon Guerlain wouldn't have attracted me then, the bottle is just too inconspicuous (-only now, of course, I realize that it highlights the classic, straightforward and elegant facets of this fragrance). And certainly I didn't think I'd like lavender in a perfume, or even find it sensual.... But it came to pass that I got a sample of it, and then I got to smell this fragrance for the first time.... even then I liked it very much, but as a teenager it was just too expensive for me, I didn't take it seriously yet.

However, also never forget. Long time later, I found the empty plastic box again and tried to come still the last droplet of sweet nectar of Mon Guerlain. A last remnant of fine mist reached my nose and I found it again really very good.

Again, at least a year later, I am a member of Parfumo and my perfume love reaches a new level. I still have Von Guerlain in the back of my mind, type it in and see those top reviews. It was immediately clear to me, I absolutely have to try this one! When the first perfumeries opened again here, I was right there on the first day, for my Guerlain test. And no sooner was he (forbidden) on my wrist, I remembered him again:

This fragrance! You beautiful, sensual fragrance! Spicy but not heavy, sweet but not sticky, sexy, classy, elegant, grown up without being bitchy or distant. No, you are so close and whispering with a smile, "Come to me, I give you my love in the form of a hug!" I've never associated a scent with the feeling of love like that before.

You can imagine, I was still hanging on to the sweater with my nose where Mon Guerlain had manifested itself for days after the test! From that moment, it was clear I was ready. Finally, my Guerlain will be mine. Mon Amour! And I want to be as good a person in my heart as my perfume smells.

Thank you for reading! :)
