It's been a long time....
After much deliberation as to whether I should get it back into the house, I decided to go for it and it arrived today.
I owned Sergio more than 24 years ago and I can well remember how decidedly masculine and edgy I found it back then. Wood and vetiver at the forefront of the fragrance, which reminded me a little of tobacco smoke. (And this despite the fact that I am a non-smoker ;-)
With this memory in mind, I opened the perfume box as soon as I received it and, with joyful anticipation, applied a few sprays to the back of my hand and forearm.
Disillusionment came immediately, of course. What I smelled or sniffed was only a tepid copy of the original fragrance from back then. A softly rinsed fragrance that has had its edges thoroughly sanded off. You can still sense the original DNA, but you have to go in search of it. The floral (unfortunately synthetic-smelling) part now clearly predominates and pushes the other components well into the background. Personality virtually non-existent.
Well, the water was no longer really expensive. But I prefer a higher price and high-quality (former) components so that the "composition" can also be considered as such and an EdT is also an EdT and not a diluted soup.
The last review was in 2018. Maybe Sergio smelled even better and more "original" back then.

Actually, it's good, but then...
Yes, but then.
I had the opportunity to test the fragrance before the purchase already times "live". And after I have checked him throughout the day again and again with the nose on the wrist I found cocaine definitely worth buying. The sandalwood immediately struck me positively.
So at the next good opportunity to the horse dealer of my choice and off into the cart with it.
In the following days there were then further tests and on one of these days it happened then. A scent pushed itself into the foreground and is since that day unfortunately always immediately present as soon as I apply the perfume. Nail polish remover - acetone. For my nose not at all pleasant and has me thus the perfume strongly verleidet. Very sad, I liked cocaine at the beginning but really very.
I will give him every now and then a chance and put him on. Maybe this strong association disappears again. So far, however, the attempts were unsuccessful. Hm.

Could Signature...
Most of my collection actually comes from blind buying. Many of the fragrances simply don't give you the opportunity to try them out on the market. Also not in duty-free at the airport. There you will find mainly only the current mainstream (with a few exceptions).
So that's how Le Parfum came to me as a blind buy. And in this case again a real direct hit. The balance of the ingredients in the fragrance composition is really on a non-level for me. The citric opening always remains well recognizable over the whole course, later almost more as Earl Grey Teenote. I think it's great. Violet leaf and oud are so well woven in for me that I couldn't smell them individually - maybe that's the leather component. Patchouli, vetiver and cedar result in a very beautiful woody overall composition. Everything together simply very noble, male - simply has class. Fits just as well to a suit as to a fancy leather jacket.
I catch myself wearing the scent, now that it is getting a bit cooler again, almost every day. It's (almost) becoming my signature scent right now. Let's see if he makes it.

Am I blind?
I've been sneaking around this scent for a long time. Due to the lack of availability on site, only a blind purchase is/was considered. Shall I, shall I not, shall I...
Ratings are good, price also no leg break, Orientals often meet my taste, also suitable for nice occasions on a summer evening - hm, hm, hm ,hm?
In the end, a revievideo of Fragboy Stevie was the deciding factor. For Entebaa, it's one of the best fragrances he's ever had his hands on. Well then he really can't be bad.
So flux ordered, a few days later Entebaa was already in my possession. I must add that I already have Daarej and Tasmeem from Rasasi in my collection and I am very taken with both of them. For this reason alone the expectation was relatively high.
Unpacked, the first sprayer on the forearm and... Hmm? Well. Very much Sangria, red wine note and then after about 10 minutes - where are you then? According to the descriptions I had read or heard so far, it was supposed to be the other way around. WATCH OUT! ONLY ONE SPRINGER! IST A POWERHOUSE! etc. etc.
Well, I'm afraid my nose can't confirm that. Is the juice in my bottle qualitatively a runaway? I have to spray really well so that I can perceive the scent over a longer period of time. And then it's actually always this sangrianote. No development. Hmm? This is probably the fragrance with the most "Hm" in my collection.
To get back to the title. Am I just smell-blind here? Can my nose just not recognize/perceive all the other great things in this composition? Or is this fragrance just like that and I expected too much, or it just does not suit me?
Well, I will let Entebaa "rest" for a while and then he gets another chance. Wouldn't be the first time that you have to get to know and appreciate a fragrance.
Take a look.

Finally something different again
Today he came in the mail. A blind purchase, like so many of my fragrances, because you can't smell them so easily. In this price segment I find it too costly to send testers back and forth
This blind purchase was once again a direct hit. There were already some, but unfortunately not always. ;-)
I definitely have something left for the so-called "old school" scents from the 80s or before. Many of these scents (unfortunately) have an overarching DNA. For example, Giorgio for Men, Bogart, One Man Show or Pour Lui by Oscar de la Renta. Of course, these fragrances don't smell the same, but they have so much in common that I often ask myself: Do I need them all in the collection? But I know for sure that I really don't need another one in this direction.
Therefore my great relief and joy as Jacomo de Jacomo now so not at all in this direction. Smoke, fire, much harsh and very briefly in the first minute a parallel to Encre Noire, which then disappears quite quickly again.
In principle, not much known. After the smoky hammer opening it becomes softer, but never really sweet. Neither at the beginning nor in the course in any way penetrating. Finally something extraordinary again. Great!!
I definitely use it a lot now in winter (yes, in summer I couldn't really imagine it now).
For me a rather timeless fragrance. I would never have guessed the release date to be 1980.
Definitely masculine. But I don't see gold chains and an open pleura shirt.
I don't think Jacome de Jacomo is really fixed in terms of age either.
Who likes it naturally rather fresh and sweet is here wrong at the place.
Otherwise clear recommendation.
