Venice in early autumn
Anyone who has already read one or the other of my comments knows that I love to associate scents with places. My profession very often takes me to different corners of Europe and the world. As a perfumer you wear fragrances everywhere and try out new ones. Keyword -> Duty Free. After testing the Tuscan Letaler at Dubai airport and a week later in Madrid-Barjas, I knew that it had to be added to my collection. But as it is often the case in professional life, you always have your head everywhere but nowhere and Tuscan Leather moved in with me as a birthday present only half a year later. As a summer child I simply didn't find the scent suitable for the evening of my birthday and decided to buy a blue Tom Ford bottle. So Tuscan Leather went back into the showcase and should stay there for a while.

Corona has the wanderlust and partial freedom to travel of the Germans this year clearly under control and planned large holidays did not come about. Instead I went to Vienna for a few days of deceleration. The next point of contact with Tuscan Leather should follow. At summery temperatures only Mandarino di Amalfi and Soleil Blanc found their way into the hand luggage and still Tuscan Leather was applied again at Munich Airport. Again I liked the scent and was attracted to a luxurious alternative. Shortly before departure we wanted to get some souvenirs and we ended up in the local Louis Vuitton, where we were allowed to test Ombre Nomade. Delicious... i thought. But no Tuscan Leather. With the LV scent I just missed the simple structure of the Tom Ford scent

Back in Germany, and with a lot of frustration about the weather, she finally got the chance... the chance my 50ml bottle of Tuscan Leather was waiting for. I sprayed it on and had 1000 pictures in front of my eyes and again and again the need to fly away. No wonder with the duty free adventures I have had so far with the fragrance. The sweet and really tasty raspberry, which accompanies the fragrance for a long time, I associated from now on with boarding a plane and the goal to travel into the sun. In the evening I lay on the couch at home and sniffed my wrist. From here on it was clear to me that I must finally smell this scent in a suitable place! A short time later a short trip to Venice was booked and my comment only makes sense. Arrived at mild 23 degrees and sunshine my Tom Ford companion knew how to score directly. I spent three really great days in Venice and wherever I smelled, Tuscan Leather got into my nose.

A really simply structured fragrance. Light leather, smoky hints and a fruity raspberry make this fragrance an allrounder for any time of day. Now every time I apply Tuscan Leather, I think of delicious aperol, great food, blue water and colorful alleys.

Conclusion:
A potent, durable companion for the modern man who also likes to stand out a little. Familiar TF quality with chords of southern fantasies.

From the boccia game in Italy
One of the many great things about Parfumo are the many public statistics. You can search for fragrances by their scents, filter fragrances for certain occasions, sort fragrances by seasons and you can also look up fragrances by their average rating. Now Dior Homme Intense currently occupies 2nd place in the All-Time Ranking. If we look at the top 10 as a whole, the ratio of designer to niche fragrance is 6:4. In conclusion, one can say (as expected) that everything here has its marketing science correctness. The fragrances that are most often found in large perfumeries (slightly) dominate the top 10 of the best rated perfumes. These fragrances should appeal to the masses, they should be as unobtrusive as possible and universally applicable, so that the masses are happy to put their money on the counter for exactly these designer fragrances. Dior has two of these olfactory draught horses, especially in the men's segment, in its repertoire: On the one hand the shower gel vipe hype-ambroxan-killer Sauvage, which appeals especially to the younger target group, and on the other hand the Dior Homme Intense described here. This second fragrance is much more mature, rounder and by far softer than the blue Ambroxanterminator, but both fragrances still have very elementary scents, which are needed to give off an economically successful fragrance. Why and by what I can get very little out of both scents, I would like to tell you today

The course of the Dior Homme Intense is as exciting as a game of boccia at 30 degrees in an Italian village between two pensioners long friends. Certainly a lot of fun and very harmonious for both participants, but boring for an outside spectator. Personally, I find the comparison quite accurate, as I don't experience any scents in the local fragrance that burp me. Nevertheless, I prefer to wander through the diverse and varied landscapes of Italy instead of watching the described bowls game. Transferred to the fragrance, I would like to express that I have no problems smelling the perfume on other people. It's a very simply structured powderiness, which never loses its quality and is quite long-lasting. I (fortunately) cannot smell the often described lipstick, but I cannot identify myself with the Dior fragrance. This perfume will find very few people who find it repulsive and this is also reflected in the reviews on Parfumo. I can also subscribe to the reviews on durability and silage, except that it doesn't radiate very much to me. And yet a 2nd bottle of the fragrance will never find its way into my collection. I'm too adventurous, too extroverted for that, and my urge to stand out from the crowd is simply too great to wear the crowdplease king, Dior Homme Intense. Does this now mean that it is a bad scent? Not at all. Does it mean that I'm a bad perfumer? I think not. Some things in life simply don't go together and that's a good thing!

If you are looking for a (proven) great fragrance with unbelievable longevity and broad popularity, you can strike blindly here (even at the slightly increased price). Meanwhile, I wander through the wide Italian hinterland, looking for new adventures and that certain something.

Quiet and slowly seduced
One or two people had certainly imagined the year 2020 to be different. The life that was taken for granted was moving into incalculable distance and also in the world of perfumes and perfumes cuts had to be accepted. The so joyful walk to the perfumeries to sniff new fragrances fell away little by little and thus it came certainly to several blind purchases in our so curious community. The weather on the other hand presented itself in large parts of Germany from the best side and thus light, fresh fragrances were in demand. This situation I just described leads me to write a comment about a special fragrance after a long time.

The fragrance description and Pyramid of Altamir reads to my nose like a weekend trip to the Italian coast around Venice. A fresh, fruity opening followed by further freshness to a soft, sweet base. All in all, one can already get weak there. Now I added the so attractive price (23 EUR/100ml at Nation) and it only took a few minutes until I placed my order. "What could go wrong? If it's not good for you, you just put it in the spook and someone else will enjoy the scent", I thought to myself.

On the first day I wore Altamir, the sun was shining and it was a pleasant 15 degrees. It couldn't have been more right. Of course you can wear this price cracker from the house of Ted Lepidus also in much colder temperatures because of the so seductive base notes, but this certain sweetness (if not overloaded) also does good in summer. After 3-4h I smelled again and again on my wrist. It developed into a healthy addiction, because what spread was a pleasant, beguiling feel-good scent which also impressed my immediate surroundings. Exactly at this point Altamir plays out its strengths, a wonderful interplay of orange blossom, woody notes and the beginning of a sweet amber, which makes the fragrance seem incredibly gentle. What comes after that is a (seemingly new) calculation, which I have never smelled before: Tonka + amber + vetiver + woods + musk = vanilla? Anyway, slowly but surely a skin-near oasis of well-being is developing, which inspires to dream of warm, Mediterranean evenings along a coast.

This is exactly how I imagine a relaxing, culinary as well as olfactory great late afternoon in Venice. It begins with a loud, fresh atmosphere along the canals and ends in a relaxed, quiet but high-quality Tarttoria right by the water with a bottle of wine. Exactly this is the impression Altamir leaves over a period of 8-10 hours and in this quiet and calm way leaves an impression on the wearer and his surroundings. The projection is just as well balanced as the fragrance and thus allows people to enjoy it on 1-2 arm lengths and this over a reasonable period of time.

Everyone can decide for themselves when to wear this fragrance. Because that is another of Altamir's strengths: the many occasions to wear it. Only from 25 degrees I would choose something else. On the one hand, its diversity, its balance and its price make this fragrance a blind buy candidate, which I would like to recommend to almost everyone.

True love stories never end
It was in the summer of 2017 when I first came into contact with Tom Ford. In Oberpollinger I was attracted by the big choice and was induced to test Oud Wood and take it with me. At the same time I got three more bottlings to get even deeper into the matter of Tom Ford. One of those bottlings was Santa Blush. At first I tested it very sparingly in November, here too the scent fits pretty well. It came as it had to come: I had fallen in love. For me this was the olfactory highlight of my life until then. In the course of 2018 I emptied the bottling only on very special occasions and each time it was a delight for me to be allowed to smell this composition by Tom Ford.

When I also enjoyed my last drop of Santa blouse, I wondered if a bottle would be worth the money. But instead of buying me one and enjoying it again, my head switched to economy mode and looked for alternatives and cheaper copies. There I learned that with the (right) scents it is like in love, you never go as whole and none is like the one. Arrived in the year 2019, I had already slightly displaced Santa Blush, admired some other fragrances here and tested myself. It must have been in April of this year when I raved about my better half of this fragrance. Three months later, on my birthday, the (recently) brown bottle lay in front of me. Surprised and full of joy I admired my girlfriend for her conception and especially for her memory. D

Now I can again enjoy the pleasure of smelling this incredibly good scent. Although she had never smelt him herself, she understood relatively quickly what I like about him. 3 splashes were applied for the birthday dinner and so it came that our regular waitress (beautiful Italian, mid 40s) approached me and we got into conversation. Your life companion gets now to the 50th also hall Blush! P
I think you can read very well what joy this fragrance brings in me, because a real love story never ends as you know. ;-)

Still quick to my assessment:
A fragrance for all seasons with a clear tendency towards spring. Creamy, woody, it invites you to enjoy. An unmistakable scent for cosy hours for two or for the rather small big appearance. Understatement meets olfactory luxury.
During the first four hours, one is perceived very well at arm's length before the fragrance nestles against the body for the last three hours. I would like to quote the dear Leimbach here: "Durability: 7 hours are not enough for me... for that he is simply too schööön ;-)"
In any case unisex and suitable for pretty much anyone.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Tom Ford for my own fragrance and my girlfriend for this thoughtful birthday present. My joy could not have been greater!

I take you to the candy shop
The period of waiting and the increasing anticipation was about 3 weeks, during which the hype around this new Cool Water fragrance partly took on abstruse forms. In the beginning everyone was pessimistic and thought it would be a nimbler of the current Cool Water, but little by little the first test persons leaked out that it should be a complete scent of its own. At this stage the hype grew and also I as a big coconut fanatic became more and more impatient. In the final stage of my waiting one could already read the first comments and statements and also the ratings regarding durability were a real test reason in combination with the price.

Arrived at perfect weather (20 degrees and slightly cloudy) and an almost empty Douglas I also test this so advertised fragrance. Still in the shop I liked the mandarin very much and I decided to go to two or three other shops before I return and make the purchase decision. After 20 minutes a very sweet but rather light, unobtrusive coconut note came through. Until then I was full of euphoria and knew that I would take this fragrance with me. But about 200m before the mentioned perfumery the powder-sweet-candy-sugar-floss base note came through and I questioned my decision. Well... anyway. You can take 40ml for 25€ with you. Variety is always a good thing and why should I let myself take all my anticipation now?

Arrived in my own four walls even the last sip of coconut water left my wrist and the first female comment came out (as usual open and straight). "Honey, have you been at my dressing table?" Of course I knew why she thought that, because the meanwhile pungent sweet powder took the whole course of the fragrance. After I had explained to her that I was surprised here too and hadn't really taken a liking to this sugar-sweet, make-up-powdery construct yet, I went to the home office for 2 hours and did some work from there. At this time the 3 splashes were already 5h on me, but they had it in them. At this point the base note comes through correctly and has reached the zenith of its radiance. Back in the living room I was greeted (very charming) with the words: "This doesn't smell very masculine". But even here... so be it... meanwhile I had found pleasure in it.

Now the next morning you can still smell the last remnants of Cool Water 2019. Finding such a performance for such a price is very difficult nowadays. Respect & Praise to Davidoff. After Run Wild, the makers got the hang of it again and launched this durability bang on the market.

My conclusion:
Cool Water Intense has nothing to do with the rest of the row apart from the slightly darker bottle and should be viewed freely. A pleasant sillage and a shelf life of 12+ hours in combination with this youthful, delicious sweetness predestine this fragrance practically for the U20 generation. If you are in your early twenties and still like something like this (like me), you'll get your money's worth! Give it a try and go to the Candy shop. ;-)
