guessing guessing gone
I love my Guess Seductive it's fresh, tart, and sweet - crisp bergamot, sweet musk of orange blossom, fading to vanilla. Trouble is, it fades far too quickly. Soft trail and gone inside the hour. Sigh.

Gold? I'll stay poor
This is a scent I can happily live without.
I don't get any lily, in the opening. I can only describe it as a cold, synthetic smell.
What I do get into the drydown is petrol - sweet and fumey. And a strong bitter, herbal medicine smell. With cloves.
And could that be lily peeking through in the drydown? Can't tell for the industrial strength pepper and spices and incense. Maybe church on Easter Monday with all the white Easter lilies and altar boys gently swinging censors to keep the charcoal burning the smoking incense. I would expect this heaviness of spice in a man's scent. I expected something cuddly and soft, angora shawl in front of the fire with kittens on lap and all that. It does later develop a hint of powder.
Given that I don't like amber and patch, and thus orientals, this wasn't a hopeful contender for my favour.
I tried this - 4 sprays - on a cardboard stip. It's still pumping strong after 8 hours.

Scent
a smooth, flat, lightly fruity rose
I prefer this to Brosseau's Ombre Rose I just can't get past the dusty, musty opening of that.
This is rosy. Smooth. Sweet, jammy and fruity. Not powdery. Not sparkling. Lighter than Lanvin's Rumeur To Rose which I find heavy and flat and spiced (but good). Lighter and fruitier than Molinard's Rose which portrays itself as a powerful honeyed tea rose, almost a rose oil with carnation or clove. Not luscious and dreamy like Stella, or dripping wet and green like Annick Goutal's Ce Soir Au Jamais. Not pipingly shy and sweet like Yardley's English Rose. Not dark and thorny like Rose Noir by Giorgio Valenti. Not just rosy and ambery like D & G Rose The One. Is evocative of Baby Doll or Bright Crystal in its fruitiness. Did you guess I love roses?
I've enjoyed the bottle but the trail is too light for me to want to replace. If I had to buy another Brosseau scent, I much prefer his Violette-Menth.

Ralph's Dupe is REALLY COOL
I have a dupe of this, called "Really Cool" I tried the dupe in a shop, loved it, they didn't have an original the price was ridiculous so I bought it.
It's lovely. It is, as Sherapop adverts to, akin to strolling under a honeysuckle/wisteria/jasmine laden pergola with lime or lemon blossom nearby. It starts off fresher with the cucmber and kiwi and mellows to a a grassy, dried hay, flowery accord. It's not a sweet smell nor a fresh smell, more of a tea and cut grass smell. I think its REALLY COOL. I love tea and cut grass/dried hay scents.
Maybe the dupe is better than the authentic version - it stays lovely on me all through. It does get to an astringent tea scent but that's fine with me.
I think this would be enticing on a man.

Scent
lemony soapy musky peppery
This is a most boring scent. It's lemon, but not the exhilarating, sweet, sharp, mossy, wet lemon scent I used to get from the lemon leafs that I picked every day on the way to school and tore into little strips and inhaled all the way to the bridge before throwing the torn up bits of leaf off the bridge and watching them fall into the water. I would bury my nose in the crushed leaf and wipe the leaf up and down my arms to become the scent. Nor is it the pure lemon scent that goes up your nose to the back of your throat when you are squeezing a lemon it's so sharp it makes you salivate. No. this is more like a too diluted lemon disinfectant I might mop the bathroom with and forget about the moment I walk out of the room.
A light thin lemon which in its long drydown becomes candied lemon, very musky and slightly soapy. the pepper and the ginger and the candied lemon at the end of it all seem to be discordant.
