Pink Friday On the Way To Work
A happy bright fruity floral, slightly melon to me. In a zany bottle, (well something had to be different about it) with a quiet to medium trail but fades quickly to a quiet trail and which doesn't last a long time - it just wasn't there after half an hour. hmm the only memorable thing about it is the bottle.
It is uplifting to spray on but I would treat it more as an after shower spritz after squash, or before bed, if you like fruity floral it does have a burst of zing which I very much, but fleetingly, enjoy (much like Evodia spritzes). Doesn't have the tartness or piquancy of the L'Occitane citruses.

I absolutely loved the original Stella as one of the dreamiest rose scents I have tried, and as i love the scent of lily, I was ready to embrace this.
This review is after I sprayed perfume onto a cardboard strip.
I liked it when first sprayed. Sweet, high, sharp. It is said to be a chypre. I am not a fan of that genre.
3 hours later and I remember to smell it, it smells very powdery and, lightly, and surprisingly but unmistakeably, of urine, or chlorine, and strongly of baby talcum powder. A baby's nappy bag after half an hour. Oh dear. I have seen it described as metallic, salty water and alcoholic and that must be in this phase. My mother refuses to bring in her flag iris - although beautiful, she says the flowers smell like cat's pee after a day.
Later, the talc completely takes over and smells like a bright, high pitched baby powder, sweet, like lilac or jacarandah (Brazilian rosewood). Fades out on the high powdery lilac-sweet end of the spectrum.
I've never smelt truffle so can't comment. The scent is still strong on the card 15 hours later. It's a cool scent.
This must be lily of the valley which I don't love, and not lily which I adore.
The bottle is fascinatingly and fabulously faceted in an art deco style. Over the top but minimalist.

Flowers of bulbs
It's springtime and I am at my mother's. She has been cutting flowers from her garden and they have been in a closed up room overnight. I walk in the next morning. The air is dripping, cloyed, thick with the smell of her cut daffodils, freesias, more daffodils, narcissus, jasmine, hyacinth, flowering cherry, honeysuckle from the fence. A few green sprays and blossom from the mandarine tree or orange or lemon tree. Some blood red rose, pink roses, but nothing as strong as the jonquils and tuberose in honey, vanilla. The scent is all over me, it comes up from me. It's all through the house, as I open the doors. It overwhelms the senses. It stays in the car with me for hours as i drive home. It's sweet and powerful. Viscous as honey.
This powerhouse scent is stronger, more cloying than the original Tresor, both are of the same genre, Tresor is a little more peach and apricot and fruity and uplifting and sparkling,less of the neroli and tuberose concentration. And then, to come a little further down the scale I might place Dolce Vita under Tresor.

A Purely Purple Disappointment
This is literally a wrist sniffer. IE, you can't smell it unless you sniff your wrist.
Tired of not being able to smell it on me, on the weekend I soused myself in 20 sprays. 5 minutes later, another 20 sprays. Still no trail. It's only to be smelled if I sniff my wrists. That isn't what I wanted. For such a faint scent, it does manage to last 4 hours but what's the point you can't smell it unless you sniff it.
As to the cyclamen reference, intrigued, I went and smelled my intensely flowering, hot pink, cyclamen, and it does have a warm, softly spicy, and a fine but definite petroleum scent - like a water lily or orchid - this petroleum scent is in my cyclamen flowers pretty strong in the morning unlike the perfume which is not strong any time.
The perfume is warm, nutty, a hint of gingerbread biscuits. I am a lover of marzipan, and I could not smell marzipan. Sometimes there is an out of place soapy, lemon waft. Then a soft suede scent intermingles with a warm, fuzzy/heathery/woolly scent. The dry down smells like a handful of pot pouri thrown on a slow combustion oven in the tack room or the engine room/machinery shed where the old saddles are kept. A warmed up undifferentiated pot pouri, leather and soap smell.
I bought this blind, hoping for a violet and/or marzipan scent. It wasn't there.

Should have tried another bottle?
My experience of Sensi was the same as MissK's first try - it was so disgusting I immediately threw it in the bin. I didn't realise, then, it might have been off. Maybe I should have tried another bottle.
