I love the scent…
… but the performance is terrible.

I was excited about this one. First sniff was great. A very mature, very masculine scent. One that a very educated man would wear. Very dry, very clean, very short lived.

It doesn’t project very much, even right from the start, MAYBE a 1-2 ft radius. Sillage is difficult to trace, and longevity is barely 4-5 hours.

I wore it in 40degree Fahrenheit temperature, so maybe I’ll try it again in the summer.

Again it’s a very nice scent, very high quality feel. I’m not going to complain because I got it for $150, but if I paid full retail I would have a heart attack.

I’m an Amouage loyalist, so this review is biased, but overall I’m ok with this purchase.

This is its own flavor….
… anyone who says it smells like Aventus or Supremacy Not Only Intense is high on something REALLY good.

Hacivat has a sour/sweet opening and goes into a mossy, woody scent. Very masculine, and very mature. I love it. You can tell the ingredients are high quality, and it entrenches you in a thick bubble for a good 2-3 hours. It starts to back off rapidly though. Either I get nose blind to it, or it’s a skin scent by the 4-5 hour mark. I’m not sure, as I’ve only worn it once. I'll give it a few more tries, as it smells wonderful, but longevity is not its strong point.

For a 30+ year old business man this will shine. Thats what I see it as. A high quality business scent that will help you shine.

A decent buy if you can find it at a discounter.

STRONG!
This stuff is POTENT. I like it better than the Armafs, because it’s much smoother. It is EXTREMELY loud though, so go easy on the trigger. I think anyone having longevity issues is probably going nose blind to the ambroxan.

You can tell it’s an imposter, but it’s done better than CDNIM. The opening isn’t as bad as those are (but it’s not “fantastic” by any means.

I got it because I’m a junkie, and it’s cheap.

If you want an Aventus-esque clone, I’d say this is the winner (for now).

Longevity is 15+ hours easily, and sillage lingers to the point where you leave a room, and smell it when you come back.

You can still tell it’s a synthetic, so you’re not going to fool any Aventus loyalists. It smell very close to CDNIM, but as I said above, much smoother, and less like pesticide.

It’s getting hate ATM…
… so that means people are going to LOVE it in 9 months .

All kidding aside, my wife thinks it smells great, and a lot of women I come in contact with say the same thing. They really like it.

Personally, when I first sprayed it, I was worried that it was leaning too feminine. The orange blossom makes itself present , and you WILL feel the flowery vibe it gives. It also seems that it’s a light, low projection/low sillage scent, but as I walked around, I kept getting “phantom wafts” of it; it’s easy to go nose blind to it, but it isn’t as bad as you think. Also, when I went outside into higher temps, it got MUCH louder.

My initial thoughts were a dislike, but I got more and more addicted to it as time passed. I couldn’t stop smelling my wrist.

I went home without buying it, and woke up to still smell the SINGLE SPRAY on my wrist. I immediately went back and bought a bottle.

Projection is difficult, as I said above I was nose blind, but sillage IS there, as is the longevity.

Not for everyone, but it’s hated more than it deserves to be.

Loud and proud…
… as is every almost every Armaf fragrance I’ve experienced.

I get why people are saying this is a Sauvage clone, but I don’t get Aventus vibes. There is nothing remotely close to BR-540 in this, at all.

This is NOT a 1:1 Sauvage clone either. You get hints of the similarity, but no fraghead or Sauvage owner is going to mistake this for Sauvage. It’s definitely got its own fingerprint.

It is very loud from the start, and I like the opening. It’s a sweeter, kind of fruity (yes it is synthetic) opening. I don’t think it smells like pineapple though. It also doesn’t give that lemon-pledge/bug spray vibe that CDNIM EDT gives off; nor is it quite as obnoxious. Don’t get me wrong, people that find ambroxan annoying or headache inducing will still despise you for wearing this near them. This one is just not as rough and screechy as CDNIM EDT.

As it dries to the mid, I get why people say Sauvage, but it’s no where near the same thing, nor is it trying to be. It is NOT an “impersonator”. It’s not dressing exactly like Elvis in Las Vegas. It’s more like someone is wearing “an authentic jersey”. Does that make sense? You can tell when someone is impersonating someone, and you can tell when someone is just wearing a jersey. The impersonator is TRYING to be exact, to the tee. The jersey wearer just likes the player, proudly wears it in support, and people know who the player is. When I say “authentic” to describe the jersey, I mean it’s the real deal. That’s what I get here.

Also, throughout the performance, I get a smokey feeling vibe. More like CDNIM LE, not Aventus. I detect it throughout, and as it dries down, it becomes more and more prominent. In the final drydown, it’s the smokey note, coupled with the sweeter Sauvage EDP note I get off my skin until the end.

Now performance wise, as usual, Armaf is no slouch. Projection is LOUD, and it’s almost risqué to wear. If you overshoot, you will kill someone. (-true story-). It will easily fill the room, and everyone will know you are the perpetrator. They will also know that you were there 20 minutes after you’ve left. Longevity is an easy 8-10 hours as well.

So for $50, it depends on what you’re asking for. If you like loud ambroxan nukes, this is a great addition. If you don’t, you’ll hate it, and everyone who owns it.

I think it’s interesting. I think I like it… for now.
