Beyond fresh…
…. Those were my initial thoughts when I first sprayed this. Very bright, very green, very strong.

This is a mature scent in my opinion. One for specific occasions, whether formal or professional. Not suitable for just anyone.

You have to know what you’re getting into; and you have to be dressed accordingly. Button up shirt and slacks, no less. It almost gives an authoritative vibe, so you must be dressed to fulfill the expectations created along those lines.

It’s not a crowd pleaser by any means, nor is it a date night scent. This is for when you want to exude your intellect and confidence. It smells of success, but not in a “Wall Street Wolf” manner. This is more of a medical professional, successful business owner, or educational professors scent.

Very, very mature. Very masculine. Respected.

Performance is great. A lighter feeling, bright sillage trail follows a 3ft projection bubble for a good 6-8 hours.

Great scent, but very specific.

I’ve compared this one to the EDT Intense…
… and the EDP won my vote, hands down.

You can definitely tell that they are in the same bloodline, but the EDP has a smoother, darker feeling richness to it. Don’t get me wrong, they both smell VERY similar, but the EDP is done much, much better. The sharp “edge” that EDT intense shouts out is rounded out and softened, but the projection, sillage, and longevity are not affected at all. This is much easier to wear, while maintaining the uniqueness of this line. It is definitely not guilty of being a “main stream designer scent”.

As I said above, performance is GREAT. Projecting 3ft+ in radius while leaving a sillage trail that points directly to the wearer, and lasting 10+ hours. If you want longevity, this one is no slouch.

The issue with this one is going to be that people either love it or hate it. It’s either perfect, or hideous. I haven’t seen a tester anywhere, so I blind bought it. I can definitely understand WHY it is this way. It’s because of its uniqueness. People say they want something different. This is definitely different. Are you READY to experience this uniqueness though?

It’s got a “greener” feeling freshness, but it’s not “green”. Not soapy or blue. It doesn’t go with the “tropical island” advertisements that promote it, either.

I get a fresh, slightly green woodiness, and it get better in the drydown. As it dries, it becomes darker and richer. The drydown is where it shines. It speaks out with confidence, but isn’t self absorbed. If I compare it to its EDT Intense brother, I say that the EDP is the older brother that has already succeeded, but doesn’t tell everyone about his success. You can just “feel” that he is able to do whatever he wishes. He doesn’t need reassurance, he has been there, done that.

Not everyone is going to like him, but that doesn’t matter, because he is going to do what he does, regardless.

Definitely unique
I gave this one a try because of the polarity it gets in reviews. Such extreme love/hate, and it seems as if people that get compliments get a lot, and with those that don’t get compliments, the people who smell it think it’s wretched. I HAD to investigate, lolol. I ordered both this and the newer EDP variations, and gave both a couple of weeks of trials.

While both do smell similar, this one (EDT Intense) has a slightly harsh sharpness to it, and it’s not as easy to wear. I can see where the love/hate comes from, because these scents are very different than most of what you see out and available. Kenzo is definitely not “following the trends”. If you WANT uniqueness that not many people wear, this is definitely going to fit that mold.

Performance wise, both this and the EDP are fantastic. The projection is 3ft+ with a strong, lingering sillage trail, and I had to SCRUB to get it off of my skin. You can smell it the next day on skin.

The scent itself is very difficult to describe; very clean, but not “soapy” or “blue”. It doesn’t fit with the “tropical islands” in the advertisements either. A slightly green feeling woodiness is what I get, but I prefer the EDP over this one because it’s much smoother feeling. The EDT Intense is kind of like the louder, more egocentric sibling. The one that tells you about everything that he has done in life, and constantly tells stories about himself. That’s the “vibe” I get. I don’t dislike it, but it’s more likely to be “obnoxious” to some.

I get a slightly gourmand feeling
I agree with the light Iris in the opening, but I get a “chocolatey” feeling in it as well, and then it dries down into something very similar to Ferragamo Uomo in my opinion.

It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s also getting a lot of hate atm, and I don’t think it’s as bad as the haters are saying it is.

It is definitely different than its predecessors, and I think that THAT is why the disdain is being given.

I’d say the projection is a moderate 2ft bubble, with a lingering sillage trail that goes for an easy 6-8 hours.

Give it a peek before you buy it, but it’s not as terrible as many are saying it is.

Oxymoronic bliss…
Heavy yet light, loud but quiet, mild but bold. That’s what this is. If you think that the molecule scents are “the emperors new clothes” after smelling 01 and 02, give this one a whiff….

While it WILL have the same conundrums as the aforementioned ones do, even those that are less sensitive to it will smell it.

To the people that are more sensitive though? It is an everlasting woody explosion that lasts and lasts. I’m absolutely loving it, because it feels almost “playful” in how it appears and disappears.

You may be saying “I thought you said it was LOUD to you, how can it disappear then?”. It IS. But it’s the aura/sillage that is loud. It’s not in the “off the wrist” sniff that you feel the explosion, it’s the “airborne/in the air” wafts that you get. It almost feels like it’s stuck in the back of my nose. Grading this is difficult because of this. It’s as if the sillage trail/lingering is an absolute room filling experience, but projection is redefined. It’s not quite the same “experience”. It IS perceivable from long distances, but it’s not the same “off the skin” type of projection as say, Sauvage, where everyone knows it’s you, and that you are the center point of where it starts and ends. This is more like being in an area surrounded by a giant pasture full of strawberries or peaches. Miles and miles of those fruits surrounding you, and the wind is blowing. The way the smell of those fruits are extremely potent, surrounding you, and lingering imminently with no start or finish. So strong that it will stick to you, and you will still smell like that field when you get home. That’s how it feels.

Longevity is insane as well.

If you think the molecule scents are mythological or fictitious, explore more of the line, and you will find one. When you do, it will give you a whole new perspective on fragrances, and another way to enjoy them.
