A summery forest scent
I came across this fragrance by chance in Cologne in the fragrance house 4711. I know the standard fragrance 4711 from my childhood, have seen it here and there with relatives in the bathroom, and happened to pass by the fragrance house by chance and was interested and surprised by such a beautiful presentation. Definitely worth a visit.
At this point, please look it up, I noticed for the first time that there are other fragrances produced here besides the standard 4711.
I tried out various scents here, had two candidates on the shortlist afterwards and then decided to go for Wakening Woods of Scandinavia. This scent triggered in me the association of spring/summer and especially the association of a walk in the forest after a summer rain. Unfortunately, I can't describe it better than that.
I already own a few other fragrances now and am therefore very surprised that this fragrance is quite affordable in a 170 ml bottling, smells very good, lasts very long and other people also perceive the scent and so far this has been consistently positive.
Compared to other fragrances, I think that this fragrance does not change greatly over time but, compared to other fragrances, smells very consistently for hours. But I don't want to interpret this in a negative way, for an everyday scent it is rather positive.
I like to wear this fragrance in the office, but 2-3 sprayers are definitely enough. If I wear more of the fragrance, I perceive a synthetic note more strongly, which disturbs me a little over time. But 2-3 sprayers are ideal for me

I am looking forward to my next visit to the fragrance house in Cologne, because I still have 1-2 interesting fragrances in my head there. Maybe I will buy a very small bottling of the standard 4711 for nostalgic reasons.

Smoky and sweet
This scent was kindly added to my sample of an ersoukt scent. I couldn't do anything with the name at first.
Then at the beginning of the week I sprayed this scent, there were about 4 sprayers, and the scent immediately triggered memories of a walk through the market in Tunis, where I was last year.
I take here an oriental spicy, slightly sweet and smoky note was and this unchanged over many many hours.
The durability is enormous, as is the sillage and projection.
This morning I went into the cellar with the laundry basket and put the clothes in the washing machine in my mind when I suddenly had that smell in my nose again. I had just put the shirt in the drum which I had on the day I wore this scent
I like this fragrance very much and I think I will test the other fragrances of this brand as well over time.
Many thanks to the person who sent me this fragrance to test it

Holiday in the Highlands
I got this fragrance as a present last year, the brand and the fragrance were unknown to me until then and until today I only know this fragrance from Mugler.
But maybe this will change soon.

This fragrance reminds me of my holiday about 2 1/2 years ago, in November 2017 in Scotland. For me there were two reasons to visit this country, the beautiful landscapes and the Single Malt. We made a 10 day round trip there and visited four distilleries. This scent of Mugler reminds me of the moments when you, with two distilleries this was possible during the tour, enter the warehouse, the building where hundreds or even thousands of casks filled with whisky are lying. One immediately smells the single malt but also wood and a musty note. In one distillery they mainly worked with casks that previously contained sherry, there was also a sweetness in the room. Exactly this is what this scent reminds me of. Sweet whisky, wood and a musty, earthy note
I like this scent extraordinarily well. It definitely lasts on my skin the whole day, even though the sillage and projection may decrease during the course of the day, but this scent is perceived by others all day long. I have often been asked by colleagues which scent I would wear this one and received compliments. For me this scent belongs in the seasons autumn and winter and is wearable in all situations. For a day in the office, however, I would recommend to be careful with the sprayer, for a nice walk and a party etc. it may be 1-2 sprayers more.
If you are looking for a strong, thoroughly masculine fragrance, if you like sweet scents and do not shy away from the alcoholic note, then I can warmly recommend this fragrance to you. Especially because it is quite affordable. You don't have to be afraid that others might think you've had a pub crawl the night before, that's not how it smells.
But the whisky is a component I perceive all day long.

A classic
I became aware of this fragrance some time ago when I was looking for classic men's fragrances. First of all, what I like about this fragrance is that it is very affordable. I bought 100 ml of this fragrance for about 25 €.
Considering this price, you can get a really great scent for your money if you like the smell of the older classic scents. This scent lasts with me, I always test it on my wrist, one working day. At first, the scent is still projecting, it lasts for about 2-3 hours on average, so that others can perceive it at a distance with about 6 sprays. After that the scent is on the skin and can only be perceived at close range, with the nose directly on the skin. After about 8 hours I can no longer perceive it on the skin. The scent lasts longer, like all scents I have tested, if you spray it on your clothes. However, I am not a friend of it. But everyone can decide this for himself.
So for the price of a good aftershaves you get a very masculine scent, with a good durability for this price. I think this fragrance is good for everyday life, good for office work because it is not too intrusive. For special occasions it would be too little complex and not special enough for me
For just everyday situations I can highly recommend the fragrance if you like classic men's fragrances.

What splendor
This is now my second review of a fragrance on this portal. Since about 2 years I am more and more interested in the topic of fragrances. Of course, I had also previously bought fragrances for me or received gifts.
Spanish Leather by Geo F. Trumper is the fragrance on my sideboard that has been in my collection the longest.

A short history:

Now about 10 years ago, during my studies, I was in a bookstore looking for a book for the weekend. It was autumn, cloudy, raining partly and the forecast for the weekend was still mostly rain. I did not know what kind of book it should be so I let myself drift. After a long time back and forth my choice fell on the probably in Germany best known book about men's fashion (I do not call it because I do not want to make advertising but if you google gentleman men's fashion it will be the first hit). Actually it should be a novel for the weekend but this book simply appealed to me. This weekend I devoured this book and also the chapter about classic men's fragrances.

The inspirations of this book have always haunted me and were the trigger for various decisions. A trip to London, for example, but also a visit to a tailor. Not in London, unfortunately I cannot (yet) afford a visit to Savile Row.

But still at university I saved my money for a good half year and visited a tailor in Düsseldorf and had two shirts made for me there. This must be about 8 years ago now. The shop was a dream, I felt like I was in British tailor heaven. I placed the order, they took my measurements and now I had to wait a few weeks. I did not want to leave this shop without taking something with me. My eye fell on the perfume corner of the shop and I noticed the scent I knew from the above mentioned book, Geo F. Trumper West Indian Limes. I said to the shop assistant that I would like to take this scent with me, please. She finished the bill, packed the scent, I got a nice bag and was still overwhelmed by the interior and the products there.

With my companion I spent another nice day in Düsseldorf. The next morning I unpacked the bag and wanted to wear the new fragrance right away. First of all there was a big disappointment. The saleswoman did not pack the scent West Indian Limes but Spanish Leather. I did not know this scent and from the nose it was of course nothing I had prepared for. I put the scent aside and thought about what I should do. Finally the scent was, as I said I was a student, not very favourable. It was just an after shave.
1-2 days passed and I had decided to keep the scent. The reason: This after shave smells incredibly good and with this scent I connect what my eyes have seen in the tailor shop. Leather and wood.

So much for prehistory.

I have used the aftershave 2-3 times as such, but then found that it is much too concentrated for this. Since then I wear it similar to an EdT or EdP. The bottle is beautiful. It doesn't have a sprayer, so I just put 2-3 drops behind my ear with my finger. This scent definitely lasts on me all day long. Again and again the scent rises into my nose. Fantastic. It's an after shave but definitely has the durability and sillage of a good EdP.

My friend says the smell is old-fashioned but good. I can understand that stale. It doesn't smell as trendy as a current Dior Sauvage or something from Paco Rabanne or what is currently considered modern.

There's very little left in my bottle. I have not worn it for about 2 years because I don't want to empty it. But regularly I smell in it and it always reminds me of the tailor. It is a classic scent. Masculine and tart. It dominates wood and leather. You quickly feel a bit like a British gentleman with the scent

A few weeks ago I searched again for the fragrance and found that Geo F. Trumper no longer markets this fragrance with the term aftershave but with cologne. In the Internet, I have still found sellers of the after shave
Can any of you tell me if the scent and intensity has changed? What is the difference between an after shave and a cologne in general?

I thank the saleswoman very much for not packing the fragrance I wanted to have. Otherwise I might never have become aware of the scent Spanish Leather.
