Just no!
How dare L'Artisan make and sell a perfume such as this? For once, I agree with a discontinuation. The scent is so fleeting it is like the emperor's invisible clothes: why spend money on something that does not smell past the first two minutes and then, smells of a watery compote of sugared almonds and musk? A party day should have the smell of cake and icing, cream and nuts, not this useless baseless concoction. How can someone who creates the unrivaled Dzing! make this disappointment?

Chewy Rose
Once again I waited a long time to blind buy a perfume and when I finally did, I was sorry I didn't do it sooner. Beyond Rose is just what I wanted from a rose perfume: dark rose and spices with a resin base. It is what I wished Rosier Ardent could have been but never was. The rose is strong and sweet with a spiciness and amber. I can detect a milk note that makes the perfume dessert-like. As another reviewer described, there is a chewiness here, like nougat and rose-water lokhoum. The sillage is strong and the lasting power ok. I love the bottle and the whole look and feel of this perfume. It is a good thing ebay exists: otherwise we would never find this beauty (at a Clinique counter.)

Sweet Myrrh Tea
An incredible composition from this line, as always. The opening is a sweet orange blossom and myrrh with a tiny hint of black tea. It has been some time I've smelled something that excited and captivated me this much. It is smoky and smooth, but what else can you expect from Art/Matiere? Must have!

My First "Robe"
Smells just like I expected, knowing Guerlain's style: sweet blueberry vanilla opening with a white musk finish. The cotton candy is divine, not sugary. The vanilla is smooth and mellow, tying the whole thing together with a bow. The drydown is some kind of soft wood and musk but is not harsh in the least, nor medicinal. There is a nod to the original LPRN but the licorice is gone and the cherry is transformed into blueberry, fitting in with the bottle color. This smells a lot more refined than the usual flankers. Those who did not like the tea/licorice/raspberry of the original will not have to worry with this edition. It reminds me a little of Angel (in a good, much more refined way) as well as Guerlain's own Mon Exclusif.

I was disappointed but I'm not now
Today I got asked if I was wearing Pink Sugar. I was glad because Pink Sugar just doesn't sit well with me but I want to smell like a super-strong sugar bomb. Pacifica's new Amber Dreams is more of a sugary vanilla perfume than any of their old vanillas. This one actually lasts and projects. There is a harsh ambery spect to this perfume at the start but I would not recommend this for amber lovers. I feel there is a slight woodiness which helps with all the sugar. In any case, I tested this, went home and could not stop smelling myself so for those that have that sweet tooth when dealing with perfume, try this.
