What a pleasant fragrance. I had no idea I would like it this much when I blind bought it. I was expecting more of a vanilla scent but this is a full perfume with varied notes. It reminds me of a lot of honey-centered perfumes like Morphine and Oajan. The color is beautiful and the opening sweetness dries down to a heavenly sweet vanilla. If it were not for the lasting power of this brand, I would be using a lot more of these.

I love both Vanille Charnelle and Vanille Exquise by Annick Goutal. While the latter is lighter and more almondy, Charnelle is more on the caramel/spice side. The fluffy vanilla notes wear off pretty quickly and the scent becomes rich and deep.

At first I was wondering why this house would make two similar vanillas, or why I would buy both of them, but now I see why. Charnelle is much denser and chewier while Exquise is light as air. Is Charnelle really carnal? I don't think so. It would have to be woodier and more peppery for that. But an admirable effort nonetheless.

The projection could use some work but the quality is there: it is expensive for what you get but it is fairly worth it if you love vanilla and spice.

Bright rose and musky freshness. The effect is that of a feminine Springtime perfume for rich ladies. Not amazing in any way. Similar to the countless department store perfumes Dior sells but a little more elevated.

Not being a big fan of patchouli, I like this interpretation: it is airy, light and not as pungent as most patch perfumes. There is a swirling of spices that keeps things interesting but for some reason, the scent is too fleeting. I would venture to guess that this is one of the best perfumes from the Herrera Confidential line.

Edit: After wearing this poured on as opposed to sprayed, I found its longevity and sillage completely beautiful.

Smells like rose oud. This oud is dark and pungent and the rose takes its time arriving but once it gets there, oud rose all the way. The rose is not as prominent as in some other compositions and the oud is cool and dark. I don't smell anything besides oud and rose. Not a must-have or reinvention by any means but it is a beautiful perfume.
