I had a friend who was in the navy when I was 16. He gave me a small refill bottle of No.5 because he could get it cheaper, that was 49 years ago.
I never smelled it again after that. But someone in the office smelled so good and I asked what it was. But now I wanted to find out again and ordered a 10 ml bottle here.
I could still remember the soapy opening, I don't think I liked it back then. Actually, I don't like it today either, but after about 15 minutes this powdery-floral note appears and it stays for a long time, "enveloping" you with every movement. Now I finally know why Chanel No.5 is still so popular. The only thing I don't notice is the woody note. The next birthday is sure to come.

I received a bottle today and am a little disappointed. With the word "fleur" I was expecting more fleur. It has a slightly alcoholic opening, then I notice the rose and the patchouli. Unfortunately, the rose disappears quickly and what remains
then only creaminess remains, which reminds me extremely of the white Narciso and "Poudree", both fragrances I also have. Poudree, however, is more pungent in the creamy note, it is most similar to white Narciso. It's a bit boring for me now. I currently favor the black "For Her" and "For Her Musk Noir", which have more oomph, especially in the floral notes.
HS and sillage are so semi, almost only close to the skin. 3 sprays each on the wrist and forearm, now almost gone. It doesn't smell bad, but too similar to the other N.R. cream fragrances for me.

I've been sneaking around for months now and today I finally received the sample I'd been waiting for. I could already smell it from the packaging, even without having sprayed it on, which I then did. Apparently I'm particularly susceptible to Javanol, its intensity is unbeatable on me!
Some people write here about a smell of vomit, I didn't think of it myself, but unfortunately that's exactly what it is for me too. What a shame! But I'm happy for everyone who perceives it positively. All I can do now is try layering it. I find the sillage unbelievable!

I had the fragrance once in the early 80s and probably gave it away then. Now I remember why. A dear perfumer sent me a sample and since 2 hours the fragrance is on my arm. I find the top note to be herbaceous, pungent, almost medicinal or a bit like nail polish remover and it stays and stays and stays...... For me, it's like this: I have to like a scent right away and I don't want to wait hours for it to unfold differently. I almost ordered it in a bottle, luckily there is a bottling option here, thanks for that. But unfortunately he falls through with me.

Have received today from a dear Parfuma a sample. I find the fragrance to kneel down, however, I smell neither the mandarin nor the iris. Although.....have I ever smelled iris? Dry, tart and powdery woodiness, that's what I smell. Almost more of a winter scent to me than spring or summer. Nevertheless, woody-dry always works for me. Will order me ne 200ml-Buddel.....?
