The Lost Times
Walking down your childhood street
Unbelievable dreaming. Just beyond the horizon, out of your reach.
After Vol.1 of Scent Stories probably actually deals with journeys to certain places, Vol.2 is supposed to be inspired by the 5 senses. For my deficient English, it stands that when I first thought of Plush, I thought of a spontaneous, warm, heavy summer rain. In fact, the translation is quite simple: plush. Soft like the fur of a teddy bear is supposed to be the scent, the sense to be addressed is therefore feeling, touching, sensing. For me, this scent is a journey back to childhood, but it contains much more than the cuddly and secure feeling with the soft favorite bear in my arms. I can barely smell out any of the ingredients and can't dissect the scent, but I can share with you the olfactory journey it took me on. The opening takes me to a fairground of my childhood - immediately I'm surrounded by the smell of cotton candy, various lollipops and candies and nuts and almonds. And yet, there's more to it than the usual sweet stuff that you find in most modern women's fragrances now. This shindig is situated on a tidal river, the smell of water and faintly that of salt resonates, the feeling of cool, cold coarse-grained sand under bare feet is there and I almost think I can see lanterns swaying in the wind on the branches of the old trees on the riverbank and hear a weird hurdy-gurdy tune. No, I'm not that old... the scent gives that impression, it seems a bit artificially distorted, like the discolored old Polaroids, a trip down memory lane, blurry childhood memories that may never have happened that way (but that doesn't matter). The feeling of a fair with countless rides and always too little money in hand. The special thing about it, when you waited for weeks for such an event and looked forward to it, the colorful lights, the tingling in your stomach while flying around on the chain carousel, the music, the people, the shy looks to the boy at the edge of the carousel.
And yet this day too is over one day, a cool evening breeze drifts up from the river, the smell of the distant sea, gathering mist, chill, green-scratchy thistles clinging to your clothes as you walk home. Tired, exhausted, happy, the child snuggles into bed, her favorite bear by her side and her hands still sweetly scented from the almonds she ate on the way home. Perhaps this scent fits so well for me at this time currently, because the longing is almost as great again as it used to be, when you waited a very long time for such a special event. And because sweetness is comforting and the smell of salt reminds me of the sea, which I hope to see again soon.

The music title is a very listenable song by Anna Ternheim

Don't look forward too early to the summer...
Christmas is just over. In the stairwell it still smells like mulled wine, and on television the white shark is playing.
This song line from Element of Crime came to my mind spontaneously when I tested this fragrance from the extremely generous hiking package, which was filled with whole bottles. That was a nice experience, the bottle, the haptics, the appearance is now somehow part of the fragrance experience for me. Accordingly I expected with this beautiful name and the great bottle with the light yellow liquid and the small beach stones in it a salty fresh aquata or nevertheless something, which possibly kidnaps me to warm beaches beyond the ocean.
I sag´s equal - this expectation expires already with the first spraying on. The bergamot and lemon I have mentioned are obviously immediately blended, rather the impression of anise and spices is created, Tonka also blends in and a sweet-woody, spicy mixture is created. So, read it again, what's the deal with the ocean? Mr Knudsen probably referred in his creation to the journey with a luxurious overseas steamer, and so it becomes a shoe. The fresh ocean wind stays outside where the sharks circle and it is dark and uncomfortable, while a warm orange glow can be seen through the windows inside. In there, the fine company can enjoy coffee and liqueur and aromatic spiced pastry particles. The gentlemen with noble cigars, the ladies in fine evening dresses. Her rose perfume mixes with some smoke and the Christmassy atmosphere, the warm, perfumed air smells sweet, spicy and a little woody.
As it progresses, the fragrance becomes more gentle and powdery, a soft, brighter tone emerges and you can imagine the pastel morning light illuminating the coast of the new continent.
All in all, I think it's an appealing fragrance that plays with expectations and their disappointment, I don't even feel it like the usual Rose/Oud combination due to this warm spice.

Another Year with nothing to do
If you look at the lyrics from 1969, you might get the impression that it was a long, hot summer (similar to the one that started now) - one that contained beautiful memories (those were the best days of my life) or one that brought with it a certain emptiness and helplessness, the beginnings of punk (another year with nothing to do). But also Woodstock, the moon landing, freedom, boundlessness, rebellion. For Johan Bergelin, the founder of the brand 19-69, an era of freedom, tolerance and counterculture.

"Capri" from the series of these quite different scent journeys conveys here the picture of the summer, in the text sheet enclosed perfume a journey is described by flowering orange groves, more exactly even by the environment of the villa Malaparte on Capri, an estate on a small, projecting rock in the sea, which is considered as the most beautiful house of the world and as scene of the film "The contempt" of Jean-Luc Godard functioned. The small text also refers to the convertible scene of the film, to Brigitte Bardot and the wind in her hair, out in the sea lies the yacht of the Onassis, on which idleness is indulged and cool drinks are served.

The fragrance corresponds to this image, although it comes across as light and joyful, the heaviness, which also shows itself in the tensions of the couple in the film, as well as the bitterness, which is also a feature of this impressive house, are only subtly hinted at in the bitter orange aromas.

A beautiful beginning with orange blossoms and a hint of almond, well unisex balanced, I think, and underpinned by dry herbs as I imagine them to smell in such a rocky area by the sea, aromatic and heated by the sun. The scent radiates lightness, a feeling like a flying scarf in the wind, when the convertible bends around the curve, blowing hair, brightness, shimmering sun. A really beautiful summer scent, light and a little soothing, connected to the earth and the sky.

The only disadvantage for me is the durability - at the current temperatures at and around 30 degrees it would be ideal, but my skin also seems to be thirsty and eats up the beautiful, bright, citric scents in no time, there is only a very small breath left, and that's too little for me

The bottle, on the other hand, I like, it is beautifully simple and lies well in the hand - the colour of the fragrance is beautifully hit, a deep, rich yellow-orange of ripe oranges and setting sun.

Now I am curious about the other scents of this eventful year!
