This is no Mugler Cologne!
Very original take on Vetiver (at the time). Probably next to Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and Roja's Vetiver Perfume in terms of easy to wear and all rounder type of vetiver-based scent. Very gentlemanly and classy, very tamed creation. Opens with very soft citrus and spicy (pepper and nutmeg) with watery green note very present (the vetiver grass blades were used on top traditional vetiver roots). As spicy accord stays throughout the life of the scent, the green vetiver transitions to dry vetiver roots mixed with Creed's "usual" ambegris/sandalwood /musk trio at the base. A lot of people see this as "clone" of Mugler Cologne, I don't. To me Mugler is very one-dimensional, light summer splash while this one is the real deal, heavy duty construction, year round men's cologne. I would not even put them as being in the same genre (other than the greenness of the scent, I guess). Performance is average for this type of scent and the current formulation is very light and much shorter lasting but still as good as my 2010 bottle suggests in terms of overall scent. I went back and forth with this one (selling bottle and buying it again) until finally I decided I must have it for good. This is for mature crowd, as I was getting older I liked it more and more (one thing Original Vetiver and Bois du Portugal have in common).

Still #1 after 10 years...
The hype about this fragrance is due to its versatility. You can blind buy this and 99% you will like it! The pineapple, black currant and green apple notes are unique, superb, exquisite and have been copied by many clones since, yet this remains my favorite in the group, in spite of high price. Good all rounder (day, night, winter, summer etc.). Not offensive, smooth, everyone loves it. It might not be the most unique Creed (Royal Mayfair probably is) but the biggest "one size fits all" issue since Green Irish Tween (which was the Aventus before the Aventus, sort of). First time I smelled it, I liked it but wasn't sure what the hype was about (this was 2013, so Aventus was a lot smokier back then). As I wore it and bought subsequent batches, I was realizing more and more the mastery of perfumery behind the scenes of what seems to be (at first) just an expensive slightly fruity cologne. Definitely try it, performance is not the strongest in the current formulation but definitely worth every penny. No clone or inspired creation can really fill the gap in my collection, so Aventus will always be on my shelf!!!

Beautiful floral summer cologne for men!
Great spring/summer scent, exquisite composition and presentation combined with below average performance (that of between EDC and EDT, not EDP) in both projection and longevity. A more likable scent from Frapin house but lack of performance is really a deal breaker for some (not for me though). I did try Summer Bottled from Parfums Vintage which was a very close with much better performance clone but I still prefer Frapin. Bottle worthy? It depends on what you are looking for. Most people who expect a beast mode here will be writing disappointed reviews (don't know why though as lack of performance is a known fact). If you are looking for niche, elegant, unique yet likable scent - check this one out! This is Creed worthy in my opinion from a house that makes brandy for a living! :) Very natural smelling, uncommon combination of citrus, spice and florals (peony note especially)...

Gorgeous vanillic-benzoin-heliotrope-hedione bomb!
This stuff is addictive and just beautiful! Notes are incomplete here. What you get is a gorgeous airy sweet vanilla with almondy-floral vibe with the other notes giving it more depth and complexity. I am not a fan of gourmand or vanilla scents but the moment I smelled this one, I knew I had to have it! Exquisite blend, outstanding performance, great bottle. Must try!!!

Honey is the king, tonka is the riding horse!
If honey is not your thing, stay away!!! :)
This would only be a clone of Ambre Narguile if PDM didn't further re-evaluate the compositin. You get a more linear, simplified, pungent version of the Hermes but at the same time better balanced and much more wearable! I like Oajan. Probably, prefer it in the winter where performance matters most (and, oh boy, this baby delivers on performance!!!). However, performance aside, Ambre Narguile is more complex and charismatic with florals and tobacco in the mix, it just makes a more sophisticated scent. Yet, the common notes (honey, cinnamon, benzoin, vanilla ad labdanum) are almost identical. Both have great honey note: believable but not too culinary or cloying. PDM fragrances are (like Mugler's A*man) not for everybody: test it, wear it to see if it works for you. Oajan is definitely one of the best the house has to offer!!!
