Positive surprise 2021
With Terenzis I came in the past only rarely in contact. Really extensively I could test so far only "Chimaera | Tiziana Terenzi" , "Kirkè | Tiziana Terenzi" , "Laudano Nero | Tiziana Terenzi" and "Lillipur | Tiziana Terenzi" , which are all very nice scents. Allerding they have never been able to animate me to a permanent use, which ensured that they increasingly gathered dust in the corners of my bathroom cabinet and then ended up in the souk.

So it's all the more pleasing that another Terenzi has now found its way into my collection, via blind purchase (sometimes I'm just weak) and this time I have a feeling it's going to stay.

So, now to the essentials.
"Burdèl | Tiziana Terenzi" starts with a concentrated charge of citrusy creaminess, courtesy of the combination of lime and cardamom. The top note works so well that it would have been independent enough as a fragrance. However, "Burdèl | Tiziana Terenzi" has even more in store, because after just a few minutes the fragrance changes almost completely. The wonderful top note moves into the background and makes room for a creamy woody base, which is to dominate the further course. Oud and sandalwood are beautifully showcased here. No note pokes me in any way sour or seems out of place.

Here you could note for the first time the analogy to "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (perfume) | XerJoff", because it is clearly present.

"Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Perfume) | XerJoff" starts virtually in the heart note. A small course is to be perceived and the "angularity" disappears somewhat.

"Burdèl | Tiziana Terenzi" makes practically a complete about-face from the citrusy into the woody.

Once that happens, there is little difference between the two scents.
Of course, you can still notice small differences, especially since a touch of the initial freshness in "Burdèl | Tiziana Terenzi" remains and never reaches the depth of "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (perfume) | XerJoff". However, that doesn't hurt this type of composition at all. Rather, I find it to be a little less bulky and more wearable.

The durability of "Burdèl | Tiziana Terenzi" is definitely solid. In the morning sprayed on I hear him still (18:00) clearly on the back of my hand.

In conclusion, this fragrance will probably be an active enrichment of my collection. For me, he closes the gap between an eccentric composition and the compatibility in everyday life. Thus, he gives me a reason to look forward to the coming cold days, when it is again time to unpack the woody guns.

It does not always have to be Niesche
I have recently bought an opened bottle of Prada Luna Rossa Black. In advance I would like to thank Tobiextreme again for the good offer.
The fragrance was already longer on my screen, because it generates almost consistently positive resonances here. Generally, the brand Prada is still a blank sheet for my collection. Of course, I'm consorts like L'homme and many Flanker known, to the purchase, however, I could not bring myself so far.

So to the fragrance:
PLRB makes in my opinion no real fragrance progression through. It starts with a powdery sweet opening and ends the same way, maybe getting a little warmer in the process but keeping the concept. I have a hard time smelling out the fragrance notes listed here, as it all blends together into a very pleasant whole. In a previous comment, the scent was compared to a powdery Coca Cola. I can only agree with that, it really does evoke associations with cola and in a suitably pleasant way. By that I mean that even its sweetness at no point seems synthetic or sticky.

The shelf life amounts to about six hours. Thus, it is located only in the midfield, but because of the attractive price I find it justifiable.
The sillage is also rather decent.

To wear PLRB one is not bound to any special occasion. He works at work, to the date, to celebrate and to most everyday activities. Only to the sport and on particularly warm days I would perhaps do without.

Finally, the fragrance impresses with its uncomplicated character. He represents for me an excellent choice when I'm not after niche and I just need a relaxed fragrance for everyday life. Because despite its versatility PLRB has something very own, what he from the
Mainstream Einheisbrei stands out and for me thus makes a small new discovery in the designer area.

Rightly the current No.1?
Herod is a fragrance that I have wanted to have in my collection since the very first hour. Somehow, I never got around to it. Constantly I have looked for reasons to buy him, or not to buy him again. I got myself the clone, "Arabian Horse", which surprised me very positively. He comes very close to the original and I almost was satisfied with him... but then the Parfums de Marly Sale came to Notino and I hit it!
Herod and Pegasus, both in the big version. Pegasus was actually a blind buy, he surprised quite positively. Herod, on the other hand, exceeded even my memory.
I will refrain from describing the fragrance, it seems superfluous with the number of comments.
Let's just say that this fruity tobacco combination is really ingenious!
Herod is not the only fragrance that goes in this direction, but he is the best I have tested. In general it is a very pleasing combination of scents, but Herod still stands out. His harsh prelude is my personal highlight in the course of the fragrance. He gives it the necessary masculinity.
In general the typical Parfums de Marly DNA can be found again. However, I think that Herod is not a typical Marly. Although he plays with similar nuances as his brothers Layton, Oajan and Carlisle, he doesn't seem so overladen and omnipresent. His sillage and durability are good, but not on the level of the ones just mentioned. That doesn't have to be bad, rather it opens up a certain everyday potential for Herod, which I see in the less mentioned ones. One could also see him as the quiet and polite brother, who does not need to distinguish himself, but is always present. Thus he is the most sympathetic Marly to me.
Well, is he rightly the current No.1 in the perfume ranking for men?
Regardless of my own preferences, I would say "yes"
Because Parfums de Marly once again manages to combine niche and mainstream. Herod is a high-quality and pleasing men's fragrance with potential in all age groups.

Fruity fresh shower on luxurious!
Xerjoff was a house that has always attracted me. For a long time I deliberately kept myself from testing the range of products, in view of the horrendous prices and the fear that this would open a door that would undoubtedly lead to my bankruptcy. Of course that didn't work forever...
Recently I acquired a small selection of samples in the souk, including Erba Pura (mediocre enthusiasm), Ensemble (very impressed), Alexandria 2 (now in my possession) and Accento. Especially the scent pyramid of Accento I found very appealing, because I didn't have a fruity - flowery scent in my collection yet.

So about the scent:
Accento starts very fresh and fruity. I think I can smell the pineapple, but it's more sour than Aventus, for example. As it goes on, Accento gets creamier and takes the pungency out of the prelude. In the background musk is added, which gives it a certain cleanliness.
A great change no longer takes place. I also find it difficult to recognize all the ingredients from the pyramid.

Performance:
The performance is very good for a fragrance of this kind. I would estimate the shelf life at a whopping eight hours, with a long presence. Often I find myself picking up the "scent trail" that I left before, when I cross a room again.

Occasion:
Accento has turned out to be a very tolerable fragrance, which is also excellently suited as an everyday companion. Especially on hot days it is highly recommended, as it has a certain "cooling effect".
It is suitable for both upscale events and relaxed gatherings.
Although it is declared as unisex, I perceive it rather as a male fragrance.

Conclusion:
Accento may not be the poster child for a description of the Xerjoff brand per se, but it definitely represents a high-quality and versatile fragrance.
You can feel the quality of the ingredients and enjoy its excellent shelf life, which should be a matter of course considering the price. But nowadays it is not. All the more reason for me to recognise these similarities between the fragrances from Xerjoff. All of them have excellent performance. The presentation of the flacons and packaging is also truly superb, just as one would expect from a true luxury fragrance.
Other houses can take a leaf out of their book.

The thing about expectations...
Black Afgano had been a household name to me for several years. Not because of a preference for this particular hash variety, but because this fragrance has a certain reputation in the perfume scene. Dark and wicked, it is said to be, with a durability that is second to none. One to a maximum of two sprays would be enough to flood entire stairwells or subway stations with the crunchy scent of marijuana.
Granted, that sounds more than promising! However, I hesitated to test it. The reason for this was that BA was supposed to be very similar to Gucci Intense Oud, which is one of my personal hate scents. I can't even explain it exactly, the fact is that when I sniff Gucci Intense Oud I get associations of vomited rose petals.
A deeply repulsive idea and a good reason to wipe any scent that even remotely resembles the same direction off my radar for all eternity.
I thought so
Because when I recently, rather by chance, acquired a sample of Black Afgano at the souk, I was already preparing for the worst... and was taken by surprise

To the fragrance:
Black Afgano starts very dark.
I perceive something that could already be identified with cannabis. I think I can smell oud, too, but it is most pronounced after application. As it goes on BA becomes very woody and there is a slight smokiness. The scent doesn't go through a big change anymore.

Durability and sillage are quite good. And that's it.
Black Afgano is not the described performance monster that is often reported. You will definitely be noticed, but it only radiates over a medium distance. In return the durability is quite good. Applied in the morning, I can still see it on the back of my hand after work.
Whether there has been a reformulation recently, I cannot judge, since I only recently came into the pleasure of testing it. But it seems likely, given the split views here in the forum.

Black Afgano is portable for men and women. However, I do think it is more of a masculine fragrance.
Also the scent character is very special, so the wearer should choose the right occasion. It is not necessarily an everyday scent and in warmer temperatures it can be annoying.
Personally, I see him as a good choice for going out on cooler evenings, and when you feel like something other than the usual suspects.
A dark, somewhat daring outfit would be very well underlined by Black Afgano.

Of course, the flacon must also be mentioned positively again!
I personally am a big fan of design. As I already mentioned in my commentary on Baraonda, the minimalist look gives the flacons a certain potency. In combination with the black content and the cap, you almost have the feeling of holding a vial of poison in your hand.
Undoubtedly, this circumstance will also have contributed significantly to the current popularity of Black Afgano.

Conclusion:
Black Afgano was a surprise to me in several respects. On the one hand, he made me lose my shyness about such scents... which is a good thing, because there are many relatives of BA. On the other hand, I also noticed that many things are simply exaggerated and only partially do justice to the hype
Black Afgano is definitely an interesting perfume and I'll be using it in the future, but it's much more tame than I expected.
Furthermore, its scent is quite linear. But I'm missing something that makes it more lively. To everyone who feels the same way, I can recommend Laudano Nero by Tiziana Terenzi. He comes very close to Black Afgano, but adds a few leg notes (including cognac), which loosen up the whole composition a bit.
