and I loved Barbie as a child idolatrously. I had very many, Arielle, Gymnastics Barbie, uvm. (many I can no longer think of) and of course the camper and the carriage with this great white horse and pink mane. Ken, the smart beachboy, sat at the wheel of the motorhome with a wide grin and snow-white teeth, waiting for his Barbie while Barbie got ready for her trip. And so time passed, I turned 13 and was curious about what the gym Barbie could do with Ken...I experimented and suddenly the scales fell from my eyes. This went too far (I know, for some of you it's getting really exciting now... ;)). I knew the time with Barbie had passed. And so the time with her came to an end. The end of childhood and the beginning of a new exciting time.

These memories come to me with Vanilla Leather - it smells like my memory of time with Barbie. Squeaky sweet (not sticky), just girly, just carefree easy living. The scent of mother's makeup bag and opulent perfumes from the 90s. Powdery through the iris and violets, the intense white flower notes super embedded in the base notes, the leather is more appearance than reality. The name is not quite accurate, but I find it very successful. POV: very unique!

Well, in a comment on the last review, the composition of BR540 Extrait was presented. If the future of fragrances should be chemically so set up, then I may put my perfume passion on hold, because: I smell neither BR540 EdP nor the Extrait in a special intensity. Since my softest fragrances in my collection are more expressive.
So it goes me also with Molecule 01/02.
I notice the fragrances, yes, the durability is definitely there for days, but for me, unfortunately, only with a sillage against 0.
Somehow I'm sad not to be able to perceive these two fragrances like others. Is certainly due to a fragrance blindness.

So if this is to be the future, I need to stock up on other scents well.

We count almost 8 billion human lives on this planet.
By tens of times more, there will be fragrances.
The choice is huge - actually infinite but still somehow limited.
Nevertheless, I feel like drowned in it.
Then there are moments when you don't have to make a choice.
It falls at your feet and you get to decide intuitively.
Either she comes in handy or you get rid of her.
Will it be a magical moment with room for something lasting?
A journey brought me to the north of the country.
Matiere Noire and I, we approached unconsciously.
But: to him was my journey, my longing.

Matiere Noire is:
Elegant, modern & confident.
Initially fresh fruity nuance of currant and bright florals, gradually giving more space to the oud. It is very finely woven, the oud not too demanding, but very delicate and feminine, the earthy-woody tones fit perfectly with the elegant floral bouquet. Incense is only delicate accessory, but in total an enchanting masterpiece.
For me, he has signature potential, he must stay.

If I had to describe Ege, he would be a man I met in Portugal, in the Algarve. His star sign is Aquarius, in his mid-30s, sun-kissed, likes to wear discreet white gold jewelry, with which he also goes surfing. Decoratively, he uses a classic Rolex, but also likes to swap it for a Tudor. His clothes are always thoughtfully coordinated, he likes to end the weekend evenings in a chic beach restaurant with a few girls and surfer boys, where gin and mojito flows abundantly.

As I approach it, on my way to the beach bar, the remnants of a long day of surfing greet me, with lashing waves and bright sunshine. Salty, watery algae notes, laced with hints of smoke, permeate his white, beautifully flowing linen shirt, which, slightly open, unleashes his lush chest hair. I want to fall into his arms and stay. His scent is room-filling, always subtly perceptible in a sillage polite to his surroundings. This Ege I'm already admittedly a bit addicted, which I would never so openly confess to him, I do it in my very own way.

Ege - you are a great water man, take me and bring me to the wide sea.

PS: A special Aquat, not the uniform mush but times from the row, also one with edge, which aneckt. "Love it or leave it" sums it up well! Better to try before.

Noir de Noir is a bête noire for me, a dark beast of indeterminable species.
However, I can tell you what Bête Noire is all about.
Bête is pretty creepy with her many facets.
One moment it laughs at you with a mischievous look, quite bluntly charming and unsettling.
The next moment it gives you elation and lifts you into another sphere - creating a sense of security.

I introduced it to my mother, on my skin and on hers. One note bothered her. She described it as stale meat and she immediately became uncomfortable. My one is lucky not to perceive this. I do like to detect a subtle metallic, cool iron note (as in blood) though. Would be curious if anyone else perceives this.

Aside from that particular scent, it's a gourmand scent for me, with facets of dark chocolate and subtle rose, with spicy-sweet nuances and equally subtle earthy patch notes. Oud is not a player here - in sum, everything very finely tuned and of high quality.

So is this beast flesh and blood like us? No. There is an aura of elegance, grandeur and yet this fragrance seems to pass perfectly as a feel-good, cuddly scent - I at least could bathe in it! For next fall/winter, this scent is high on my wish list. 10/10.
