Merry Christmas
Isis, yes, I bought it because of the name. SS is ISIS and these are my initials. It's not just the lords of creation who think they're goddesses, women also think they're goddesses more often and the number is growing, as evidenced by recent very successful mainstream names like xy-Goddess.
In any case, Isis has been in my wardrobe ever since and is waiting to be put on from time to time.

The fragrance only fits today.
The first Christmas Day after a difficult time full of changes, pressure and stress at work and full of attempts to bring peace and quiet to my surroundings.
Christmas Eve is a time to get together with the family and spend time together in harmony. An endurance test in social competence.
The goddess Isis also has a family, married to Osiris, who expects her to be with her at Christmas and to cooperate. Because God created humans in his image, which means we at least look like God. Whether we will become a real human being like God is only now being decided.
Even and especially as a future goddess, it is not always easy to keep the peace when everyone wants and expects something and then conflicts arise due to different wishes and expectations. So far, she has gladly "sacrificed" herself to strengthen family cohesion. She was the sister-in-law by marriage, the daughter-in-law of the beloved son, brother or brother-in-law who had just joined the family. It is always more difficult for the latest addition to be accepted by the family. Especially if it is God's family.
Perhaps as a goddess she is a little above things, but she is still right in the middle of things.
So Christmas Eve with the family, superficial harmony, everything goes as usual. This goes well until someone starts blaming one or more, ideally all, of the others and tries to shift the blame and direct the emotions, including negative ones, onto themselves. Volker Pispers once said: "If you know who the enemy is, the day has structure." The mood is gone and "mom" is completely dismayed, she has once again tried her hardest to please everyone and it hasn't worked out again, she says...
Another Christmas get-together over and everyone goes home. Everything as usual again? No, not this time. Something has shifted. Someone other than the usual black sheep of the family has made himself the scapegoat and given the usual scapegoat, Isis, a chance to be accepted into the family.

Today there is silence, regardless of the unrest in the world yesterday and last week. Time stands still for once.

A good day for Isis. Agonist, what was that again? Antagonist is opponent. Does agonist then mean player, player? Yes, I understand it that way.
Immediately after spraying it on today, Isis smelled like coffee. I didn't usually notice that and was surprised. The impression doesn't last long.
The fragrance is not easy to describe. A sweet-floral blend, somewhat heavy and slightly smoky and tart. Ylang-ylang is not dominant, but finely integrated, but adds a dark floral and interesting note to the fragrance. Even the vanilla notes are not just sweet, but spiced like marshmallows with cistus, nutmeg and pepper.
Isis is therefore also gourmand, but the rougher parts mean it doesn't necessarily smell edible.

So Isis does not necessarily smell very harmonious and clearly classifiable, although it is absolutely like Christmas with the family. Sweet and pleasing with a subliminal smolder. Not dominant, but still noticeable, perceptible and flickering again and again.
Ultimately, it doesn't matter what is played and pretended, the family loves each other, even if it is repressed, and in times of doubt, in tough crises, it also cooperates. Sometimes the right sacrifice by the person loved by everyone at the right time works wonders to break through old structures and initiate change for the black sheep.

There will be more next Christmas. That's how long I'll be wearing Isis with another pleasing, warm, vanilla base that will eventually fade after hours.

Jasmine - you don't really need to rewrite it here and Francis doesn't do it at all
I was in town the other day and I smelled this fragrance on a lady. Catchy but simple jasmine, beautifully bright and intense.
Then the search began. I tested everything and asked sales assistants how many times.
But no fragrance came close to the jasmine scent I smelled.
Even at home, I sprayed a few little-used jasmine fragrances again, hoping that it might have been lost in my collection or that I might have something similar. But no...no Fragonard jasmine was even remotely similar.
At Galeria, a saleswoman sprayed the jasmine fragrance from Gucci Flora on me and said it could only be that one, but no, it wasn't even remotely similar and I didn't want anything else.
I looked a bit more, but then checked off the search.

As I am absolutely addicted to J'adore fragrances anyway and have a tray of them in my bedroom and I always put one of them on when I want to smell seductive but not so heavily covered by perfume, I naturally ordered the new J'adore L'Or this week.

The price is steep, I realized, but I was lucky enough to get it for much less with a voucher. But it was still too expensive for a blind purchase, so I wanted to try it out in the city today. But the tester at Galeria was gone, the sales clerk said it had been stolen. So I went to Müller and sprayed it on there.
And before anyone complains about "buying online and testing in store", I've also bought a lot of perfumes at Müller, but they were 56 euros more expensive than online. That's a lot of money for me.

I have to say that I had sprayed Gucci Rush at home shortly before and it was very dominant on my wrist, but I found a spot and sprayed it straight into my hair. What can I say, after about a minute I realized that this was the jasmine scent I had been searching for without success. Well, the fragrance actually only smells of jasmine and every saleswoman would have to bring out exactly that if someone asked for it. The orange blossom is always there with Mr. Kurkdjian, but here it is only there to emphasize the jasmine. Rose may add a minimal soapy note, but I don't smell it explicitly. It also smells stronger than the Rush, which I also put on. After showering, without washing my hair, I only smell the gold scent. And tomorrow, when I pick up the package from the post office.

J'adore L'Or is far too strong and powerful to emphasize its own fragrance, and therefore not suitable as a skin scent like the much more delicate J'adore EDP, but it is perfect for going out and making an impression.
In my opinion, it is worth the price, because there is nothing comparable and also little so intense, which smells so beautiful and fresh after jasmine.

As life goes, it always ends up in my hands.

Yes, are you crazy???
I ordered it blind, of course, and was about to send it back to France without opening it. Unbelievable! Because I read the comments and statements here.

It also came in a beautiful white outer packaging with a bow and a cotton sample bag with a golden Guerlain print. Wonderfully pretty and classy to look at.

Fortunately, I wisely had my name engraved as a service when I ordered from the homepage. Sonja
Oh yes, it took a while, but then I remembered.

And I can't send it back at all. What luck. I had already made the decision when I ordered it.

It smells absolutely heavenly, divine, just like Shalimar smells. I love that old-fashioned petroleum note of bergamot and here it's the iris and I smell the iris right at the beginning. I smell vanilla and it's very classy, fine in combination with iris and rose, a typical note in powder fragrances. Yes, old-fashioned as far as I'm concerned, I call it classic and elegant.
The fragrance is still modern for me. I am already an old, elegant lady, but the fragrance makes me feel young and the fragrance makes me feel young. And I'm not that old after all. This one really does a goddess credit, unlike all the Godesses fragrances that have been released. My queen Shalimar, with whom it all began.

I think Millesime Iris is in the same league as Creed Vanile. Oh, I'm really in love now.
The sillage will level out. I've only sprayed it once on my décolleté and also on my wrist, it smells strong. But it's a kind of fragrance that makes me dream and so I might wear it more for myself, even before going to bed. But definitely in intimate moments.
Let's see what my husband says ;-) Whether he says anything else...

Vanilla Clouds
What have I been chasing after this perfume, incredible. It was always sold out just when I wanted to order it. On this Parfumo Parfumbild he is sooo pretty pink. Actually, he's more clear.
I had also ordered it in France, but it was precisely this fragrance that was cancelled. Now it is available at a discount online shop in DE. A few days ago I only ordered one bottle there.
I ordered two more bottles today because I love, love, love him. What can I say, he's great.

Starts quite refreshing with bitter bergamot and grapefruit, I find lemon more enigmatic, but at first it is very citric. Great and modern. The classic Shalimar has these "lemon notes".
It sounds like some jasmine and vanilla already in here. Who knows the souffle, it is exactly this jasmine and this vanilla.
I don't smell freesia and iris and Rose can only be guessed next to white musk.
I smell soft and warm slightly floral vanilla. At first I thought the scent might be too weak, but that's absolutely not true. Even after showering the vanilla was still smelly on the skin.
I find the really beautiful and a more modern version of the Eau de Shalimar EDT, which has been adjusted with a vanilla that is even more beautiful for me
The fragrance now fits at spring harbour temperatures, as well as in summer, autumn and winter.
For winter evenings I would probably use the original Shalimar variant. The Shalimar DNA is also well recognizable in this fragrance, I think. Especially if you like the souffle, this one is a must have.

Dreamlike unisex Lavender-Vanilla Fragrance
At Christmas I wore Caron's Nuit de Noel and my husband asked what it was. I told him a smell of Caron, an old perfume house. He didn't. Between you and me, it wasn't the first Caron fragrance he asked for. He always asks about the scents of Caron.
I noticed that he does not have a single Caron fragrance in his collection, or has ever tested a men's fragrance. So I looked around for the reviews here at Parfumo and ended up with this fragrance. Pour un Homme - Lavender and vanilla sounded good, classic and oldschool. The fragrance is said not to have been changed since 1934, writes Parfumdreams. I wanted to order a perfume for myself and ordered Pour un Homme right away with.
When he arrived, my husband sprayed it right on. I had warned him about the big start. "Good," he said, but that could mean anything to him. He is a diplomatic Libra and prefers to wear Interlude or other Amouage fragrances, possibly a few mainstreamers. I thought the scent was a little too soft for him. "Maybe more for home," I thought. The natural lavender note is very concise in the beginning. Like a typical Provence lavender scent. The addition of rosemary and citric notes supports the lavender note even further.
At the same time you can smell a nice and soft vanilla note, little sweet, but quite powdery and amberious.
This is the first powdery men fragrance I ever smell.
That and the fact that there are few typically male parts in this fragrance has made me spray it on as well and I love it about me.
I find the fragrance absolutely unisex and wearable for women. Neither does it have a disturbing woody note, nor anything stabbing. It is simply soft and round, harmoniously composed. In my heart I even smell a very soft note of roses wood, which you can hardly find in scents nowadays. I love the scent.
Mon Guerlain is quite successful with his modernly interpreted sweet lavender note, but I don't like it as much as Pour un Homme.
However, the scent can hardly be smelled after a good 5 hours on the skin. He keeps his hair a little longer and only becomes really beautiful after 30 minutes. I also like to smell lavender on its own, but the combination with the powdery vanilla is simply great. Since the fragrance can also be bought in very large flacons and this is very inexpensive, you have to top it up and spray more often and through the first 30 minutes through.

I have now added the fragrance to my own collection and now wear it for the third time in three days, which is a lot for me. If my husband will even wear it, I can't say. I have found a great fragrance for me and wouldn't have expected it at all, as I find it rather difficult with unisex fragrances. Homme doesn't mean "only" man in French, I learned here, but also man. There you go, this scent is for a man and not just for a man. Well, what luck, that's me.
