I have rarely smelled such a coherent, timeless masculine summer fragrance, from the designer segment, as Aqva Amara. In fact, I had him never really on the screen until the dear Mr. J. He often mentions in his videos. Since I have often been lulled by dear Mr. J., and was disappointed, I asked another perfume lover (greetings go out to Steffen) for advice before buying, which confirmed to me that the fragrance is really fantastic. Perfume? That was always something I got as a birthday present, from aunts/uncles and cousins who didn't know what to get me, mostly some standard drugstore fragrances like Jil Sander Sun, Boss Bottled etc.
But then I got to know a very good friend who already had a perfume collection of 30-40 fragrances, including many niche fragrances. Curious as I am I wanted to smell some of the fragrances that were lined up in noble flacons in his bathroom. I smelled fragrances from Xerjoff, PDM Layton, Creed Aventus, Dior Fahrenheit, Versace Eros and several Tom Ford fragrances, including F*cking Fabulous, Oud Wood, Ombre Leather, Tuscan Leather and of course that one fragrance that stayed in my head so much, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanilla.

For almost 1 1/2 years I always had to smell this bottle when we were at my buddy's house. At some point he got really angry when I spent so long in his bathroom. This scent always radiated such a cozy warmth for me, so I would have loved to take the bottle with me. What always prevented me from buying the fragrance was actually the price. I just couldn't accept that you have to pay good money for such a fragrance.
Then, a few weeks ago, when he started to downsize his collection due to lack of space, he offered me the 100ml bottle at a very good price, knowing how much I had fallen in love with this fragrance. This fragrance is simply the perfect autumn/winter scent for me. Outside it is freezing cold, it's snowing, inside it smells like freshly baked Christmas stollen, cookies, love and warmth are in the air and Tom Ford. Knitted sweater that he still slightly climbs up my nose all evening and caresses my heart, giving me warmth and security while he presses me even further into my comfortable leather armchair. I can only wear my Colucci with this sweater since I have the scent, firstly because it lasts so long, since I usually hang knitwear on the balcony just to air it and secondly because for me this sweater belongs to this scent and it feels 10 times more comfortable when I wear tobacco vanilla. When I smell this scent then I really feel like spending the evening relaxed and comfortable on the couch instead of going out. I often catch myself lying on the couch watching TV and smelling my sweater when I'm wearing it, just to smell tobacco vanilla intensely for a moment.
In the opening I smell almost exclusively vanilla and a little clove, with time the tobacco notes and spices come through, after that the sweet vanilla predominates again. All in all a very round fragrance experience. I actually got compliments from my mates rather than from ladies. For many people the vanilla note was just too much or the tobacco too spicy but nevertheless Tobacco Vanilla is one of the best TF scents for me, if not the best I have smelled so far.
