Getting acquainted with citrus scents

I thought I might try and get familiar with this olfactory group, or just scents with prominent citrus notes. A friend dropped by yesterday, noticed a Mandarine-Basilic sample and sprayed it on. She didn't like it any more than I do, but it got me trying on more citrus scents and wearing Versense for the rest of the day.

I swiped the following citrus fragrance recommendations/favourites from a forum I frequent.

  • D&G: Light Blue, LB Dreaming in Portofino
  • The Different Company: (Divine) Bergamote
  • Guerlain: Impériale, du Coq, Orange Magnifica
  • Annick Goutal: Les Nuits d’Hadrien, Ninfeo Mio
  • Lorenzo Villoresi: Dilmun
  • Fragonard: Fleur d’Orange
  • Diptyque: Oyedo
  • Comme des Garçons: Soda
  • Thierry Mugler: Cologne
  • YSL: M7 Fresh
  • Emanuel Ungaro: II
  • Korres: Heliotrope Ylang-Ylang Citron
  • Creed: Love in White
  • Montale: Soleil de Capri
  • Atelier Cologne: Orange Sanguine

In addition I have some citrus-containing scents in my closet:

  • Hermès: Eau des Merveilles
  • Guerlain: Pamplelune, Lemon-Fresca, Mandarine-Basilic
  • Versace: Versense
  • Acqua di Parma: Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri

So here are some scents I intend to try on and review systematically over the following weeks, starting with what I already own. Anything more I should try? Avoid?
