What Grape Soda
Yes! Inner cries of joy after the first sprayer. That's Welch's Grape Soda. What do I love about this American lemonade...

Whereby American limo sounds so cheap and squeaky, which is not a bit the case here. Perfume and drink have a special note that you hardly find anywhere else: a dark, fruity sweetness, as with pickled rum raisins. Very extra, very tasty.

It also reminds me a little of a doll I had as a child: Greta Grape by Cherry Merry Muffin. And also here I apologize for this great niche scent, that I compare it with nineties plastic dolls. But whoever had Greta Grape knows what I mean. I fell asleep blissfully with this doll in my face.

In the course of time Noir Toscane becomes more sugary, the fruity gives way to a light powderiness. A bit like these dextrose rolls from the pharmacy, which were available in all possible flavours in my childhood. Of course also grape, the rolls then had a purple edge.

Overall, this fragrance is absolutely pleasant, also for the environment, and wearable in everyday life. The Sillage is perceptible but not overwhelming.

The durability is fine, but I would like it to be more pronounced.

Headache inducing disco fragrance cloud
Phewy I'm afraid I've poached here outside my baggage scheme. Perhaps a comment is therefore not fair at all. But I have to get this off my chest now in order to be able to process the wrong purchase better.

Yesterday I was with Rossmann and since I'm just on the perfume trip again, I thought, sniff a bit. I am very open-minded about drugstore fragrances, I am a long-time fan of Jovan Musk Oil and Mini Girly of Ulric de Varens. Even the Italian Milk Shake from Malizia Bonbons can do something.

So the three existing Michalskys made, since the beautiful packaging in rose gold turned me on. My first test object - phew, that's Angel. Next - too licorice. But Michalsky II I found spontaneously good and at the price, well, off into the basket with it.

Sprayed on at home. What was I thinking? It just smells like perfume to me. Without character, without well worked out individual scents. An adulterated 0815 mush.
A little I can understand the scent twin classification to Replica Funfair Evening by Maison Martin Margiela: Pear that lies on orange blossom and tuberose and ends on vanilla and musk. Probably the spontaneous sympathy on the shelf. But with the replica fragrance it is much more present and crisper worked out. Here I just feel a perfumed Wooosh. That's pretty heavy for that. Oriental-warm and too flowery for my taste. I can well understand if this fragrance causes headaches.

In the evening I tried again and sprayed the scent on again before going to bed. But now we like each other even less. A little whiff was still present this morning, the shelf life I would call mediocre.

Development: The gourmand base notes after some time I find quite okay. You have to wait until they're not crushed so florally anymore. But there's still some nasty patchouli that tirelessly takes care of the Oriental Headache.

The Sillage is basically not so strong at all, at least the fragrance does not take up much space. Lucky for me. But when you get into the cloud, it's headache inducing.

Reason: I can really imagine him leaving. He even reminds me of the scent of a disco cloud. I don't think he's right for the job.

I've always loved you.
That's him, all right. The only scent I'm currently giving 10 points for.

It must have been 2011 when I got it at the Beautyjunkies for bottling. Fits, I thought. Just what I like: creamy almond, some amarettini, my beloved woodruff tonka note. And put it in my scent box. I'm sure I had him there.
I kept looking for scents, it could be even better, even more exciting, I was in a testing mood. From the gourmands I came across powder scents and experimental things and at some point bought myself something like Molecule 01. But I didn't really feel comfortable with it in everyday life. That wasn't me.

Sometime in spring 2019, I went back to my old scent box. He was still there, we hadn't seen each other for a long time, but he hadn't changed since 2011. For me exactly the right balance of Gourmand and a sexy More behind it. Soft, creamy, appetizing, but not too edible. It has a dark, feminine, slightly bitter note. But always harmonious and embedded in marzipan. Now I finally wanted him. I had tried enough, I knew myself a bit better by now and stopped trying to portray something I'm not. That scent, that was me.

Well. Production seems to have stopped. Since then I have been looking for it on eBay and Kleiderkreisel every day, have a request in the souk and hope... I'm left with a half-empty, 20ml brown glass bottle. As long as I don't have it, I won't wear it or only on very special occasions.

Sillage: not pushy. It's more like it's perceptible to oneself. You don't have to sniff it, it blows around you here and there in a pleasant way, but stays close by.

Durability: Could be better for hours, but a warm drydown stays on the skin for a long time. Durability over the years: Excellent, does not tip over, will probably stay young forever.

And to complete the kitschy commentary I would like to dedicate the song "I have always loved you" by Enrique Iglesias to Léa von St. Barth. Writing it down would probably be a copyright violation, but the text is googleable.

Vanilla in its purest form
Vanilla West Indies is for me the purest and purest vanilla scent. It has similarity to vanilla extrême of CSP, but it lacks the (there very pleasant) sun oil on salty skin musk note. Vanilla West Indies has slightly less presence, is softer, more classic and even more edible. A really classic vanilla pudding, creamy and rich. The first sniff of the purple chocolate resonates a little. I could imagine smelling the orchid if I put it on the fabric softener and... Vanilla orchid. Yeah, yeah, there's a resemblance. The oily consistency gives the fragrance a velvety depth.

Development: Not great, but that's not bad and not necessary with such a fragrance. When I sleep with it one night, it smells a little chocolater and caramel the next morning.

Durability: Excellent. I have the feeling that this could also be due to the oily consistency.

Sillage: People seem to perceive this fragrance well, but find it pleasant.

Wearing situation: For the outside world it is almost too enjoyable, too private for me. I wear it at home for comfort. It conveys such a familiar closeness that I don't want to radiate outside. Unless you're dating good friends.

Do you work at the dentist?
"Do you work at the dentist? You smell like that!" That's what the pharmacist asked me when I came in freshly sprinkled with warm cotton and wanted to buy ibuprofen. I wasn't offended. That's exactly the character of Warm Cotton that I like so much: absolute cleanliness. My day was saved after this beautiful compliment.

For me, however, the smell to the dentist lacks the disinfectant component. I smell there rather the induction chamber of the washing machine, where thick lumps of softened washing powder got stuck. And that's a compliment, too. That's how my laundry should smell, but no matter what detergent or fabric softener I use, it never does. Warm Cotton reliably achieves what no detergent in the world can. Pure, clear detergent fragrance.

Based on the declared scents, I would never have thought that this fragrance would be so clean and inorganic. Citric, maritime, flowery? Phew, you can usually hunt me down with that. But the interplay here is wonderfully synthetic, objective, fresh. If my gourmands are too playful for me and I want to wear something serious but nothing mad, then Warm Cotton always fits.

The Sillage seems to be quite strong, because I'm one of the most addressed by other people to this fragrance
