It is very, very difficult to talk about the most talked about (and criticized) perfume of the last 10 years, it is very difficult to objectively talk about it, I write this review forgetting for a while about all the masterpieces born in the world of perfumery.
That said, Dior Sauvage, it is a very good perfume, excellent sillage and longevity, it attracts many, many, congratulations.
The protagonist of the perfume is undoubtedly the Ambroxan, which makes me connect Sauvage by force to Blue de Chanel, the undisputed forerunner of chemical / woody perfumes, but while the latter is slightly "generic" and linear, Sauvage is much more vibrant , peppery, spicy, or perhaps even too much in the EDT version, for this reason I much prefer the EDP version. I still remember the first time I sprayed Sauvage edt on my wrist, to say the least annoying to my nose the opening and too dry the drydown, I could not wait to take a shower to be honest.
As I said, the EDP corrects the things that bothered me about my brother, richer, softer and less pungent.
The perfume opens with a riot of spices, pepper, bergamot, nutmeg, and star anise, a very special atmosphere, metallic, blue, a heart instead earthy, musky, fresh woody, moist and then there is the bottom, of gray amber (synthetic) and woods (cedar?) the base may seem but it is not at all generic, because the spices, the spicy, the metallic will always be felt.
Despite being a modern and "futuristic" perfume, to an overall olfactory pattern similar to the classic fougère of the 70s, spicy citrus and fresh spices on the top, and base of balsamic woods, and amber that give a dark and mysterious air but at the same time sparkling and shiny. It reminds me so much of a wet forest at the first light of dawn. A mix of contrasts, which make the perfume very complex, albeit in its "simplicity" of ingredients.
Aside from the long duration and evolution of the perfume, after about an hour the smell of the Ambroxan-Patchouli-vetiver combination is felt on the skin, which makes the perfume slightly more mature, warmer, typical of old-school perfumes and absolutely elegant, discreet, classy.
As I said, an absolutely good perfume, the fact of being so much advertised has its medal aspect, many people criticize it without even smelling it, others criticize it by comparing it with the old perfumes, not realizing that similar masterpieces, unfortunately, they will no longer be born, neither among designers nor among niches. Unfortunately, modern perfumes must be smelled with an open mind and a closed heart.

If they asked me that the smell could have the future, this fragrance would come to mind. It seems an essence that has come to us with the capsule of time, it seems to have come out of the Scream video by Michael and Janet Jackson, starting from the bottle, a parallelepiped made of plastic and white metal, which recalls so much the purity, and the modern minimalism of the perfume, a bottle that looks like it looks like the packaging of the first iPods, born a few years later. After the 2000s, Gucci churned out three important masterpieces, Gucci pour homme, Gucci Envy and Gucci Rush for Man, the latter notch above his siblings.
It opens with very aromatic and sophisticated woods, almost soft and creamy, however creamy a wood could be, Mysore sandalwood, Bois d'Okoumé and juniper blend with an incense base, white musks, patchouli and lavender that makes the fragrance slightly powdery, clean, modern and slightly lactaginous. A woody-spicy, all the ingredients are clear, limpid, bleached, the perfume plays on the white color, on soft geometries, on neutrality, with a futuristic concept, very linear, aseptic but at the same time relaxing, comforting, beautiful, young, suitable for any occasion, hyper-versatile, in any context, I can't find a time of year where to place it, but I would avoid the hot months.
In the perfume there is also the touch of Tom Ford and you can see (and hear) and coincidentally many indelible scents of past years have his signature. For just this reason, every perfume collector should have this piece of history, or rather, this fragment of the future.

Guys this is a real Best buy, with less than 30 € you will take home a perfume that has nothing to envy to niche perfumes. I bought blindly reading the reviews on the Internet and at the first spray I could not believe my nostrils.
A liqueur opening, rum aged in the barrels slammed in the face, then dries and pulls out of the woody soul only, slightly sweet probably given by patchouli or cinnamon, peppery and smoky, very deep and dense, a spicy air fun but sophisticated , warm, balsamic. All the ingredients accompany you until the end of its evolution, they leave you on the skin known as soft leather, leather and talcum which, over time, calms down while maintaining its vibrant soul.
A demanding, rich, spicy and leathery perfume but with a soft, sweet, amber, earthy and terribly good soul.
Projections and longevity are at the top, put in the morning the perfume remains "alive" until the evening, my batch is that of 2016, not so if it has been reformulated, but I assure you that I received compliments even 6/7 hours after wearing it
I read that this perfume has something that reminds me of Gucci Pour Homme rather than Guerlain or some other designer, the reality is that this is a perfume that looks like no other, done very well, well-defined note added to the good, a round, complete, no-frills perfume. This is proof that you can have quality and original perfumes without going to rummage in the expensive and often fraudulent circle of perfumes of "Nicchia"
Reconnecting to the opening speech, is it better than? Absolutely yes, but..it is not a perfume that everyone can like so I do not recommend taking it blindly (as I did), but if you are looking for something new, a unique, versatile, beautiful perfume from the head to the feet, dense, warm and
class, think about it

It's the coolest of the guerlain homme line! The bottle makes the idea very well, with opaque glass and light green juice inside. The least complex of the line but far from simple. The opening is very citrus, you immediately feel lime and bergamot, after a few minutes evolves into a more unique fragrance, bergamot joins mint, sweet enough. The base is the same as boisee, the lime on the bottom will accompany you all day, becoming very relaxing. The projection is not excellent, but will remain on the skin until the end of the day. A very accommodating and summery scent, I think there is nothing similar in modern perfumery. Perfect on hot days. Now interrupted, to be taken absolutely, but not a crazy price.

In 2010 from the nose of the refined Polge born from the French boutique the Bleu line, is a change, for good in evil, the path of perfumery.From this, the perfumeries were concentrated on bublegum perfumes, fragrant, gourmand, having a good success ( see 1 million). It opens with a very citric and pungent accord, also thanks to the pink pepper, quite generic opening and to say the truth also a little fasty on the nose, which then evolve into a more interesting phase, ginger, tame cedar (all chemical course) everything accompanied and wrapped by norlimbanol, a chemical that makes the scent very woody. To put (or not to?) in all seasons, on all occasions. Formal, elegant, clean, but little chanel, little WOW effect. I must say that with the scorching heat I recommend it less, with the lower temperatures known more the intermediate phase of the perfume, the one I prefer.
Stillage good and excellent persistence, even if, after three hours on the skin you only have the iso and super, too little to consider an excellent fragrance. I do not have it with the perfume itself but with all or almost the modern perfumery that among the high costs has flattened everything. This chanel, however, is distinguished from others, say the least worst, but in comparison to egoiste antaeus, this is light years away. Egoiste is gold .. this is simply blue!
