Self-confident modesty.
Dear friends of oriental fragrances, please don't be angry when I say that this is actually not my fragrance direction... or was as you take it.

My collection contains two Amouages. But both (Silver and Jubilation) I don't feel'typically oriental'. So far I could not get much out of this category, because I was always quite quickly saturated.

But now I have discovered Oud Fars.

At first, its top note seems a bit unharmonious to me, somehow medical. A lavender chord as a prelude to an oriental scent. It smells as confusing to me as the top note of Jubilation XXV, but once you get used to it, it's quite interesting. Nevertheless I think: lavender and bergamot in combination with oud and patchuli is not a must.

But what comes after a few minutes is just a dream. A gentle dream. Balanced, pleasant and yet clearly a child of the Orient. Not sweet, not heavy, but earthy and warm.

Woods of the desert lead a life full of privation, but their scent is, similar to great wines, which have to cope with a lot of rock and little soil, something special. Cheap beauty. You stop and want to sniff again. And again. And many more times. Without getting full.

The top note reminds me of jubilee only because it is similarly confusing. Otherwise, both top notes have nothing in common. But in the base, both scents come very close. Jubilation seems noble, special and mysterious. Oud Fars smells effortless and friendly, but still very valuable. Jubilation seems a little distant. Oud Fars welcomes you in his arms. There's no reason to avoid hugging. Patchuli, sandalwood, cedar and oud. One wants to linger. You feel safe and secure.

Oud Fars is no Sillage monster, but he has enough strength and endurance. He seems masculine to me on the one hand, but is certainly also attractive to every woman. Even a baby could smell like it. A unique, universal beauty. Sexy when it fits. Elegant, if you want it to be. Masculine to the man. Seductive about a woman. Not intrusive, yet present. Self-confident modesty. Wow!

Citrus fruits by the sea.
Two sprayers on my neck. I close my eyes and stand at a beach bar. The bartender prepares for his evening guests. He polished the glasses, filled up the supplies, chopped the ice, put cutlery in place and now he cuts a whole basket full of ripe citrus fruits into small, bite-sized pieces.

Here, where the sea penetrates the land in small creeks, it smells of seawater heated by the sun, salt, algae and life.

The aroma of juicy oranges and mandarins blends with the scent of sunlit seawater. Captured in an azure bottle. Relaxed lightness of being. Power and quality as a matter of course, completely unobtrusive. And yet full of character. Restrained like a prizefighter who knows his strength and is calm about things.

A very attractive, unpretentious and high-quality fragrance. Perhaps because of its simplicity, great perfumery. Don't do too much of a somersault. Sea and citrus. Nevertheless very valuable and certainly versatile. Maybe even on cooler days. Even has something Christmassy about it, probably because of the tangerines.

It is to *grrrrrr* that the good things are always so expensive....

Maritime beauty
When I sprayed Balade Sauvage for the first time two days ago, I felt as if I knew the scent from somewhere. This pleasant, light, transparent, elegant sweetness. Like a really nice Iso-E-Super-Blender, but you will unmask it with time.

Let's have a look. I don't want to be prejudiced. This elegant sweetness is initially accompanied by beautifully balanced citrus notes. A perfect interplay. Very gentleman-like and natural-looking. And also the ladies should not be held back to try this jewel.

Later I am reminded of the "Colonia Intensa" of Acqua di Parma. There's a noticeable higher note. Also here I have a synthetic suspicion, which is still strengthened by the long durability.

Balade Sauvage has a maritime attitude to life within it. But the fragrance is also an elegant, tasteful statement that fits very well into the city and the office. And it is a really skillfully composed fragrance, without corners and edges, but nevertheless with character.

Anyway, I have nothing to expose at Balade Sauvage. It stays pleasant all day long and spreads a beautiful aura that really lasts for a long time. At the moment my hottest purchase candidate.

Clean, neat and friendly
If someone with taste declares this one as his only scent, I MUST test it (the scent).

My first thought after spraying on was (and the first thoughts are often not necessarily the worst): lily of the valley - ironing water with musk.

I hope that doesn't sound disrespectful. It's not meant that way. On the contrary. I'm a fan of fragrant ironing waters. And musk anyway. Synthetic or not.

Someone who smells this way, looks well-groomed and certainly can make a difference with this fragrance, as a well-known Youtuber once put it, which leads to a ten to fifteen percent increase in one's own attractiveness.

This fragrance is not loud, not exhausting, not boastful, not provocative, but shimmers quietly in front of you and invites you to come closer. You'd almost think someone who smells like that couldn't be a bad person. The current American president would probably choose a different fragrance. (Pure conjecture)

But soon my nose complained: "Hee! I don't mind the smell, but where's the fun in this? I'm a little bored! "

All right, a compromise had to be found. I didn't want to do without this jewel and suspected that Muschio Bianco would go quite well with other fragrances (especially my esteemed "Original Vetiver").

And sometimes things just fall into place all by themselves: On that day a 10,- Euro voucher of an appreciated perfumery dealer fluttered into my house. Minimum order value 50,- Euro. And 500ml of Muschio Bianco shower gel cost exactly 25,- Euro. My stock for next year should be secured (and the statistically 12.5 percent increase in my attractiveness as well).
Hehe :))
