I have just heard that, apparently, this is going to be discontinued. I hope this is not true, but previous experiences have shown otherwise. I will probably return and write more. Suffice it to say, this is my first Guerlain, and my favourite Guerlain as well, although I have many of their creations. I find it beyond compare, especially for hot climates, with its mysteriously fresh blend of scents, fresh and lightly spicy. Elegant and casual, or rather elegantly casual, I believe it is simply perfect! Enjoy it while you can still hopefully find it...

A remarkable scent characterised by its timeless beauty, a dream of lavender fields swaying gently in the wind, with a touch of vanilla, almost imperceptible at first, but then gaining more ground. Calm and beauty, eternal aspirations and the mere transience of things. Lavender dreams...

The old(er) bottles that are marked "Tsar de Van Cleef & Arpels" contain the noble juice. All the other newer ones, without the French word "de", are but a pale ghost of a once glorious scent. Very sad, but that is the way the world seems to be going to its end, in many other respects as well. Fortunately, the old(er) bottles are still available, although at exorbitant prices. I tend to say it's worth paying for it, as the juice is a true gem, a blend of spices and greenery that can turn a gloomy day from black and white into Technicolor. I confess I have a soft spot for tarragon, pine and juniper, as well as carnation and rose, so... Enjoy!

A truly majestic masculine fragrance, an exquisite blend of expensive ingredients, among which I would mention fine Cognac, leather, agarwood, myrrh and musk, as well as various spices that give it a roundness and a multidimensional projection. Very good from the start, and very reliable with the passing of time, just like an exemplary gentleman, perhaps with a slightly naugthy glimmer in his eyes!

I find this a lovely and youthful scent of honey, that makes me think of a pasture filled with flowers that are buzzing with polen-carrying bees. Sweet but not too sweet, with a tinge of vanilla and a powdery aftertaste that is more difficult to identify precisely. Perhaps a dream of soft leather and some far-away spices on a bed of agarwood...
