Amouage... famous for intense M(oud) swings...
Amouage knows how to incorporate the famous "Oriental Kaboom" in each of its fragrances, no matter how much they are interspersed with all kinds of ingredients ;-)

With Jubilation XXV (the 25-year-old for 14 years ;-) this also comes to light...

The berry start, which is very nice, is, according to my sensation, shortly after again replaced by a perceived mountain of smoking oud. Well, an Oriental, the epitome of the fragrant wood...

What is also there to start with, (and not in the understatement department) is the sillage.... It extends from Muscat to the borders of Yemen ;-) This "border conflict" is however peacefully solved after approx. 1-2h... Despite everything Jubilation XXV keeps its presence with a proud chest :-)

Normally a DIVA, for me just "Profumo di GEDÖNS"
How does he get from Ungaros DIVA to Gedöns?

Very simple: I a company in which I once worked for years, there was a colleague who, apparently once secretly by another colleague, as "Mrs. GEDÖNS" was baptized ... Of course such a thing does not remain long secretly ;-)

And I also once had the pleasure of being in a project group with "Frau GEDÖNS".... The name WAS 1000% PROGRAM! Everything, but really everything, was hyped up, aggravated, questioned to the point of unconsciousness and just unnecessarily complicated, THOUGHT HALT!
At least, I had a chance in a quieter moment (between one and the next stilted "this all needs to be thought through" fit) to ask what fragrance she was using.
I found it to be very pleasant, somewhat retro, but not unpleasantly lush again name it might suggest. She was a worthy fragrance opponent against my fragrances ;-)

Since then, whenever I see DIVA somewhere, all by itself "Profumo di GEDÖNS" comes over my lips :-)) To the confusion of those who are there and subsequent explanation why I call it so.

Mrs. GEDÖNS, they are remembered ;-)

Memories of a "just too much of everything" saleswoman in the former MCM Boutique Frankfurt...
There was, I was still in he school, late 90s, already once a boutique of MCM in Frankfurt ...
In this I have me at that time with 17 times reingraut around the German counterpart to LV to experience ;-)

A memory has settled until today with me: The saleswoman of the type "Everything just too much" ;-) Blond hair, toupeed up, layers of make up, rouge, eye shadow, 5 times mascaraed eyelashes, eyeliner up to the lateral hairline, wrapped in the fragrance "COCO" by Chanel, 25cm high heels, black costume with lavish gold jewellery and a LIPPENSTIFT that makes every red Ferrari look pale ;-))

My Assozation to the fragrance ROUGE are the lips of this woman! Only the fragrance (had him 2 times cheap as an everyday fragrance grabbed) is not even 1 eighteenth as shrill as this professional in face to face marketing it was ;-)

Has experienced everything: First hype, must have, then the crash, the "It's only for Proll's" phase, then everyone wants to have it again...
MCM, it once started as a "German success story"... A Munich hairdresser, who rose by his monogram and the fixed idea "We make times a few cosmetic bags for our customers with our monogram on it" to the German Louis Vuitton of the 80s...

Everyone wanted his leather goods! Even LV noticed declines in its sales at the time ;-)
The sunny side was reached, but then a lot of shadow followed.... True fairy tales unfortunately often end like this, not always, but often...

In the heyday, own fragrances were of course a "must have" business, which also MSM took, with success!
Obelisk was created in 1985, and is also really 80s: heavy, lush, smells of luxury.
Only, the shadow also wandered over the obelisk and darkened it.... At some point, the "MCM? Is you only for proles?" status was ingrained in minds.... A sign of "problem neighborhood chique" stuck to MCM...

Today it's back to the way it used to be: MCM, priced quite in the LV league, everyone wants to have the three letters dangling from their wrist again ;-)
Unfortunately, the Obelisk has been completely forgotten, even its 3-letter monogram has been taken away from it, it's just called "Obelisk" now.... But like an aged diva he still shows: I WAS someone, everybody wanted me, and many still know me! :-)

Some jewelers put jewelry replicas in their windows...Tiffany, do you do that with your fragrances now?
Wellaaaaaaaaaaa...

When after 2 times polishing is determined that it is NOT silver but brass comes through and you ask yourself: "This is from Tiffanys ?"...NOT a nice moment.

I had a similar experience when I once sniffed the new fragrance creation of the New York jeweler. First reaction: fragrance, WHERE ARE YOU?
The following image popped into my head: all the great jewelers are there, Cartier, Bulgari, Chopard, Wempe, Friedrich, Harry Winston, Tabbah, Piaget, Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels.... They're all lined up in one glorious street... And Tiffany's? At the end of the street in a back corner in the smallest shop under a broken street lamp...

It took a long time for Tiffanys to even come out with a new scent again! And then this thin little water comes on the market :-( I heard with Ach and barely slightly citrus notes, then it was already completely fizzled out again.

Earlier (normally I hate this EARLY was...) there were the fragrances only in the shops of Tiffanys and they were really Tiffany, that is, just not mass market goods.... Nothing against the mass market.
Only I have the feeling that the new launch and just the "scattering in the broad market" went to the detriment of the quality.... Unfortunately.

Who likes it easy (so, as good as NOTHING), which makes a good grip with this creation.
