I received this fragrance as a birthday gift in 2017. I am writing this review because I have formed a special bond with this fragrance.
It was autumn 2017 and I had traveled to Hamburg for the weekend. There, I wore this fragrance. But I didn't have this special bond because I was in Hamburg, but because a few days before I got a message with "I love you" from my girlfriend at the time, who I had been in love with for months before. She was previously quasi my dream woman.
When I smell this fragrance, memories and the feelings that I felt at that time when I wore this fragrance come up again directly.
I can remember all the situations in Hamburg, as I walked as the happiest person on the Elbufer at the St. Pauli fish market along on the way to the Altonaer balcony. I passed a kitchen studio, which was a bit behind the Fischmark. Later I went up a stone staircase. When I reached the Altonaer Balkon after a few meters, suddenly the sun was shining. I could remember less of that moment if I hadn't been wearing that scent.
I find it fascinating what scents can evoke in you.

It was a feeling up and down though. When she didn't message me for a few hours, I was sad and afraid of losing her. However, when she replied, I was chipper again.
This perfume just tells the story and the feelings back then and I'm sure it wouldn't have been so memorable without it.

Yes, there are better alternatives like DHI or Valentino UOMO Intense, but they won't beat Roi d'Orient. The story behind the fragrance is more exciting for me than the fragrance itself, so the above fragrances do not come close to this one, even though I own all three.

Bleu de Chanel...

My first real fragrance that I bought (cheap (youth) fragrances like Bruno Banani I do not count).
Previously, I looked around in a large department store chain for a suitable perfume.
After a few smells, I suddenly came across Bleu De Chanel. First I tested this fragrance on a test strip. The result: I was blown away by this fragrance. This fresh and the almost dominant grapefruit smashed my head.

After I liked this fragrance I tested it - before I bought it - on my skin and let it work on me for a few hours.
Despite the somewhat weak durability - as I found out later - I bought this fragrance full of anticipation.
I wore this fragrance at parties but especially in everyday life and he was always well received. He is not intrusive and fits the summer.
When I got the tip one day to put this fragrance in the refrigerator, I did so and the scent was more refreshing and it smelled even fresher and better, especially on hot days, which we are now accustomed to in recent years in Germany.
But after many months, this love for the fragrance was nearing the end on the other hand.
Bleu De Chanel is unfortunately nowadays nothing special, but is worn by many, but also loved by many. Especially by women.

Even though he is my first real fragrance, I now have enough of him. We have lived apart. He's become boring.
Perfumes come, perfumes go, perfumes stay.
I have to say goodbye to this one. Until in possibly a few years, but with the EDP.

This is a seductive and romantic fragrance. This is autumn in a bottle. Imagine a meadow covered in colorful leaves with chestnut trees on top. You're picnicking with your (teenage) girlfriend or date under a tree of ripened chestnuts and you're getting close. Heartbreak and joy, like with this scent. In my eyes, the best of the bunch so far (haven't tested the newest one yet). The durability is unfortunately weak and overall the fragrance is not for those who do not like synthetics.
Tendency in any case a fragrance for younger people, because easy to like and cheap.
