LA NUIT DE L'HOMME
Unfortunately new batches are not strong like some are claiming. If you compare them side-by-side to the 2009-11 formula you can clearly tell the difference.

The fact of the matter is that reformulations occur because of EU restrictions on banned ingredients used in previous formulations. This is what killed the magic of La Nuit. Once they are banned the fragrance must be reformulated and will never be quite the same. Obviously, it can't be without the original ingredients. The makers try to come close but because of the ingredients that were banned in this case it made La Nuit incredibly weak.

I've collected this fragrance for years and can confidently say the 2009-11 years are legendary. A true masterpiece that draws an immense amount of compliments. I've never experienced anything like it. If you find any, you would be wise to grab them and experience the original formula. There is no comparison to the current version.

FAHRENHEIT - SMELL OF GASOLINE!!
A classic. Masculine confidence in a bottle. How your dad smelled in the 80s.

I think every guy owes it to himself to try Fahrenheit on for size - see how it works for you. It can definitely be the 'alpha Wall Street / Corporate bro who time traveled from 1989' vibe if you want it to be. A date or office staple for the mature man.

But it can also be 'young, sleeveless t-shirt, cutoff shorts, tan, speeding in a '87 Camaro in the July heat to 7-Eleven to pick up a slushee, sitting next to a pretty girl who smells like vanilla and coconut and laughs every time you gas it at a yellow light'. Basically, a sexy, young Boomhauer from 'King of the Hill' (with or without the heavy accent, your choice).

It's what I'd assume going to Reno with your best buds in that city's 80s heyday would smell like. It's rowdy and boisterous and sexy. It's classy, masculine but ALSO a bit campy and playful. It's the best attributes of testosterone, bottled. It takes confidence to wear, but can also inspire confidence in the man who wears it. It's for a man who hates (or wants to take a break from) modern men's fragrances.

Guys, go for it. See where it takes you. I can't imagine a well-rounded fragrance collection that doesn't include this absolute mad lad of a scent.

LE MÂLE - WINTER KING
Le Male is the most famous male fragrance. The bottle says it all - as masculine as possible, but playful and ambivalent due to the stripes.

The scent replies to the images of the bottle it's contained in properly.

The beginning is brute and truly manly, pumped up with cardamom, artemisia and mint. It's ....the male.

A few minutes later though the stripes start to creep in. And all of a sudden the tough male has become , well , playful. Freed from manly restrictions.

And, yes, middle and base notes are fantastic. Woods, cinnamon and vanilla make Le Male what it is - a true masterpiece of fragrance world.

MILLESIME IMPERIAL
I am not really a fan of aquatic/marine fragrances, but I must admit this one surprised the hell out of me. I have been looking for a perfect citrusy fragrance to bolster my shortage of them, and holy hell did this one fit into that gap! It is first and foremost a citrus, but not like a lemon, orange or grapefruit single citrus fruit scent, it's a wonderful blend of lemon, orange, pink grapefruit all together, heavier on the richer, sweet orange juice aspect of the citrus spectrum than the sour/lemony side, with Creed's iris note mixing in to almost give the illusion of a rich watermelon mixed in with them. Then complimenting that aspect, there's a bit of a salty musk beneath it, the marine aspect I guess, but not a dirty "get your arse to tub musk", it feels very fresh, sort of like that nice smell a person's skin gets just as the sun starts to heat it up on a beautiful warm day, so that it's practically screaming "get close to me." The two aspects, the fruit/citrus and musk/sea/salt blend together and it's just awesome.

Longevity is good to excellent, for a citrus centered fragrance. I get a good 4-5 hours or so before it's completely a skin scent on me, which really came as a pleasant surprise, because this fragrance is not reputed to be that steadfast in its grip on the skin. On my shirts, it lasts for days. Even a couple days later I can still smell it the last shirt I wore it on. Perhaps that's a function of the ambergris? I am uncertain, but whatever the reason, I'm delighted

NAXOS
Cuban Bumblebee visits south of Europe...

Right off the bat you get the creamy, delicious honey, but nothing cloying or overly sweet. This goes together with lavender and some citruses that take this honey to the shiny, bright and uplifting territory.

This to me is a happy fragrance, like the flight of a bumblebee going through a field of lavender and citrus trees.

In the base you have the tobacco, but nothing smokey or burnt, is more like a fresh-cut cherry tobacco that settles all the other notes. To round this up tonka bean and some vanilla amplifies the deliciousness of this juice, not a gourmand one in any case. It's just right.

I find it also very elegant, unisex, better for colder weather and day or night appropriate. Very good performance with a nice not-synthetic smell for one of the cheapest of the Brand. This shows that Momo can deliver a long lasting, nice fragrance without these heavy, harsh, synthetics woods/ouds you may find in some of his offerings.

Uniqueness: medium

Scent: 8.5/10

Performance: high
