Vienna Calling - Hiniche Perfume for Hiniche Leud
After a long silence and stillness on my part, I now write again a comment on a fragrance that has surprised me very much

To the prehistory around the fragrance:

1. I had him not really on the screen. I have seen him only briefly at another friendly Parfumo, when he had sent me a picture via Whatsapp. Since I liked the look of the OVP already very much, however, the fragrance is then by the everyday stress a little lost in my thoughts.
2. I got the fragrance now as a surprise gift from my worthy Parfumofreund. This Parfumo has long since become not only a Parfumofreund, but just also in real life a good buddy.
(In this sense I would like to thank also simply again with all nice Parfumos, which I learned to know over the time here. However, a special thanks goes to 3 Parfumo's who have become real friends and with whom I have really regular contact in private: Scentennial, PallasCC & Caligaria)
3. Has the fragrance really just very surprised me.

And now back to the actual topic, the fragrance:

Wiener Schurken is a small label that as the name suggests comes from Austria. By the way, I like the Austrian rogues much better than the rogues from America. (Rogue Perfumery) Sure, the label from Austria has only one fragrance, whereas Rogue already has much more up their sleeve. Both of them nevertheless focus on the vintage style of their fragrance. Here, however, Vienna is clearly ahead. In terms of price and quality, the Viennese are clearly better in my eyes. But these are just my thoughts, everyone can make up their own mind. The "EdC" of the Viennese rogues makes a significantly better figure on my skin, as the fragrances of Rogue.
Durability etc.

Zack and again too far digressed, now but nund finally the fragrance :

Strawanza definitely shows its vintage characteristics/roots, but so should a fragrance that advertises a traditional 1953 formula.
Now some will say, "1953? The fragrance can only smell stale."
Wrong, in my nose he just does not seem at all stale.

The fragrance opens with a pleasant fresh opening. I suspect that this comes from the mixture of menthol and pepper. Relatively results in the fragrance a fine spice , I perceive the clove. This plays really nicely with the menthol and pepper. If you give the fragrance a few more minutes to unfold, it becomes noticeably woodier. The freshness flattens out but remains detectable in the background. Musk comes into play and gives the whole composition a slight "creaminess". This has almost something of a noble shaving foam and I mean that in no way negative. Often vintage fragrances are also compared with soap, of which the whole is far away.
Strawanza is a gentleman fragrance. A barbershop fragrance, which times a different path than the typical lavender Fougeré and convinced in addition still with a strong Perfomance for a Edc.

In this sense:
Pomade in the hair, Strawanza spray on, frock put on and off before the door ;)

The perfect everyday companion - spring birch
What is a perfect everyday companion or what makes one such?
I think everyone has a different demand, especially when it comes to the topic of fragrance
So why does the "Betula" have a commentary entitled "The perfect everyday companion".

First of all, we start with the core of the brand.
Olfactive Pharmacy is new on the perfume market. This is an indie brand that was founded by two pharmacists in Cologne. The fragrances deal with the topic of medicinal plants. Means:
The fragrances are based on plants, barks, flowers etc. which are valued in the pharmacist trade for their healing properties. The first collection currently includes 3 of these medicinal plants: "Birch, Lime Blossom & Sage". Each fragrance therefore has a main focus on one of these plants. The style of the flacons was inspired by old pharmacist bottles. I find the design of these flacons particularly stunning, especially when you hold them in your hand. They look high quality, are heavy and made with love. Here you can see the love of detail of the two founders. For me, the Betula flacon is one of the most beautiful flacons I have ever been able to hold in my hand.
But now back to the topic of fragrance and away from the brand excursion...

Betula is as the latin name suggests a birch scent.
As you know, I personally am a lover of "birch tar". Especially when it is very concise. But this is definitely not the case with Betula. The scent goes a completely different way, for me this scent conjures a total serenity.
I smell birch without birch tar, mixed with all sorts of fresh ingredients that come together to form a picture. Sometimes the freshness of the lemon shines through in other minutes it is fresh green that gives me a feeling of fresh meadows or falling lush green leaves
Why they are falling leaves, I can't even tell you. I find falling leaves relaxing

In general, this fragrance makes me think of an avenue of birch trees in spring
The leaves are deep green, the bark of the birch trees shines from afar with its white/black contrast. Rays of sunlight brush the leaves and illuminate the avenue, accompanied by a fine veil of morning dew.

Just the thought of the above mentioned birch avenue relaxes me and that is exactly what this scent triggers in me. Relaxation, I feel well, reassured...

This scent does not want to provoke, nevertheless it is special
If I now add the theme of "Pharmacists create a perfume brand", the thought that the two gentlemen know what medicinal plants are and how something probably has a calming effect on someone...
Theme perfectly captured. It's almost got something of an aromatherapy quality

But now to the topic of perfect everyday companions:

Actually, I have already written more than I wanted to, so only briefly...

Why is Betula now my perfect everyday companion?!

When I stand in front of my collection in the morning and think: "What are you wearing today?" and I can't decide fast enough...
Then my hand automatically goes to Betula. I'm never wrong about him. He surrounds me with his relaxed aura. My environment perceives him positively and I am also looking forward to new ones every time I can hold this ingenious bottle in my hand

You wimp! Say who you are callin a blimp - Jungle Jezebel
What a fragrance... Thanks to the dear PallasCC, my better half and I were able to "enjoy" this fragrance. At first I thought, it will probably go to my lady... Far from it... The fragrance attracted me more and more into his spell... When the fragrance wet my skin for the first time, I was clear: "THE MUST HER".

Now some questions will probably arise: "What is a Jungle Jezebel & why does the bottle look the way it does?"

First:
The fragrance is also available in the normal flacons from Sarah Baker.
The bottle displayed on Parfumo, is the bottle from the "Artist Edition" which is limited to 250 pieces worldwide.

And now for the topic of what is a jungle jezebel... Whoever uses Google or other search engines will quickly find what they are looking for. Jungle Jezebel is a song by Divine. Who's Divine???
Divine was the most famous drag queen of his time. She made a name for herself both in film roles and in music.

Now search for Divine... Look at the pictures & then look at the bottle of the "Artist Edition" ;)
I think here they wanted to set a small monument to "Divine" & in my eyes this is absolutely successful! So for me as a music & perfume lover with a collector's heart only the "Artist Edition" came into question

That concludes the theme around "Flacon and what's Jungle Jezebel" and I'll devote myself to the fragrance.

First of all:
If "DOULEUR!" from Bogue was too "extreme" & "weird" for you, you should go right on ;)

With the fragrance there are two experiences I was allowed to make with my nose:

1. When my partner sprays this fragrance on, it starts with slightly animalistic civet notes (these are only light in comparison, more on this later), which mate with bananas, chewing gum and other sweet fruits. In the meantime, the scent becomes very sweet and fruity on her, until clouds of civet swing the whip again and again. The whole thing alternates again and again in cycles! Exciting and beautiful. I like the scent on her, she likes it too ..

2. When I spray the fragrance on myself, it starts off extremely animalistic... The "light civet note" that you could perceive on my lady explodes on my skin. She is a diva, she is loud and extreme. She screams: "Here I am! Does it bother you? I dont give a fuck!!!" Awesome! Where are the fruits on me? After a few minutes they join in. Probably only the banana will be brave enough to get the full width of the zibet. This combination has an almost medicinal effect on me. In the meantime the banana gets stronger and reminds me a little bit of the banana from the old "Bat"/"Night Flyer". But really only for a short time, because on my skin the animalism is predominant. This becomes so strong that my lady has already felt it to hard in the meantime. "You smell like a pissed up stable" quote Belakiss

For me, Miguel Matos & Sarah Baker have done an incredibly beautiful and brilliant job here. This fragrance is a work of art for me and captures the wacky nature of Divine perfectly.

- Colourful, extreme, special and simply ingenious -

Not everybody's darling, but honestly? Who cares? I wear a fragrance for me and not for others ;)

If you like experiments, you should test this fragrance.

Spirited soul - igniting an aura
A wandering soul drenched in rage and suffering..
Driven by the pain of death... causing chaos and destruction
Bound to another soul, constantly following step by step.
Raise tables, light the fireplace and destroy your furniture with invisible power.
Scratching, drumming, terrorizing... Screaming and with cold, tearing you out of sleep..

Each of us probably has our own image of a poltergeist. Be it through movies, books or myths
So how does the scent of Heretic fit to such a supernatural being?

His opening shines with its sour and scratchy nature. Clutches and captivates you with its aura. Probably this opening note comes from wormwood and juniper... But this is only a guess, because I don't know from memory how wormwood smells.
There's something of poltergeist about it, because this note really gets to you.
Confuses and terrorizes you a little. The whole thing, however, always completely positive. It seems almost supernatural, because she comes along completely unknown to me. In addition there is a slight wood note, which increases in the course of time more and more.

Finally the poltergeist takes more and more measures... He lights the fireplace and scratches the wooden beams. He throws the greenery of the house into the flames of the fireplace. He strikes against the slightly damp walls and cries out.
He extinguishes his started fire and rekindles it again and again. He opens and closes the windows of the house so that the nearby forest begins to tremble. Like a fan, he thus spreads the scent of the forest around the house and mates it with his "terror". He creates his own scent

Mysterious, supernatural, nature-loving and wonderful!

So I find this poltergeist not frightening, but a really beautiful and special scent.
For me, neither smoked ham nor a similarity to the indicated fragrance twin "Bois d'Ascèse" is recognizable. Yes, it certainly has a smoky note... But a very own one that simply fits to it and makes it unique.

The durability is extremely good, after more than 10 hours on my skin I can still smell it. The Sillage is very strong especially in the opening. But then it withdraws a little bit and spreads out in such a way that a person on the left can still perceive it.

Such a "poltergeist" is welcome to haunt me! I can't really understand the negative evaluations.

This fragrance deserves much more attention and better ratings.

Thanks to my two dear friends: PallasCC for this great recommendation & Caligari who made the test possible before I bought it.
You guys are awesome!!!

Over rough and smooth
The sale ends for today... I've taken enough and my goods are running out
Slowly I pack my things and leave the market place. The way home leads me like every day through our small dry walkways. Past the small chapels from which the delicate incense mist reaches my nose. My way crosses the area of the wealthy merchants, here too the scent of their wealth does not escape me, with their tempting spices and their so completely different incense. An incense so deep, so dark and so sublime.
The last steps follow until I finally arrive home. Past the Immortelle and the little rosebushes... Finally I see my little hut in the distance, next to the wonderful dragon tree, which was there long before me... I don't know if it was planted by my ancestors. But what I do know... It brings me luck and good fortune, because now and then it shares its fruit with me... These fruits are worth much more than my other goods in our trade market. The merchants outbid one another in buying these berries. They tell me they are good for medicine, for dyeing things. I cannot do anything with such things.

I am a goatherd, like my father before me and my ancestors. I live and enjoy my life as I lead it. It is a family tradition and for me it is holier than anything else
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------br />

Prin has created an incredibly beautiful fragrance with Aksum in my eyes.
A wonderful resinous scent, which in my eyes has no equal. It has so much to offer:

From its smokiness of the various finely tuned incense types, to the resinous notes and dry floral meadow. Finally, a special setting was created for oud, which is completely different from the typical oud paths.
There is always a light animlic note that resonates. I personally perceive this as beautiful. It is also not comparable with the animalistic of a "mriga", which is also wonderfully realized. In this fragrance I find it to be much softer. Goat's hair is certainly there, but it is a clean goat, not an unkempt one ;)
This fragrance is wearable for me at any time of the year, I even find it relatively refreshing on this day.
Now of course I am even more excited about "Aran", which also contains goat hair and is from Prin.

Is Aksum a must-have?
I would say yes, at least to the people who appreciate Prin's work. The only downside would be price
$520 for 50 cc's...
Well, let's see... Every now and then your wallet has to bite the bullet ;) So the time will come sometime.

Thanks to the dear Caligari, for the test copy of this wonderful fragrance.

P.S. AdAstra72, I once used your motto as a hashtag ;)
