The Time Machine
When the young Frederick discovers history, literature and the arts for himself, Voltaire will be in the middle of the world of the young heir to the throne. Much has been written about their friendship. Their correspondence shows of ups and downs in their relationship. The writings, composed, in part, of the highest literary quality, deal with ethics and philosophy, politics and poetry at the time.

Some centuries later the great Karl Raimund Popper will appoint the "Letters from England", which Voltaire, of his time in London, wrote, as the beginning of the Enlightenment in the Occident. The transcripts are witnesses of a magnificent and splendid epoch in which knowledge instead of prejudice and tolerance instead of dogmatism find entry.

Intrigo Devastante Intenso is a fragrance from a bygone, forgotten time. A time machine that immerses you in history with a spray. It's a simple (and inexpensive) way to travel back in time. Guessing the formula from the scent description is not easy, you should try the scent. Verbena, bergamot and lavender create a neat sweetness in the beginning that lingers throughout. The perfume has a good longevity. After a few hours, amber and leather take the lead and provide solidity and a warm feeling of well-being.

To wear the fragrance is pleasant. On déjà vus (one would stand, for example, in the middle of the Sanssouci Palace) one might certainly hope.

Of hope and other bubbles
There is a book from the year 1940 which is about hope. In "The Tartar Desert" the Italian Dino Buzzati describes the life of the young officer Giovanni Drogo, who soon wants to prove his courage and fighting spirit. The story tells of empty hope, of chimera and of wasting time. The soldier is commanded to a remote fortress in the desert. Waiting for great battles he takes up service. It is said that the Tatars are preparing an attack on the base.

Over time, the command order in the fortress proves to be a pointless exercise. Weeks, months and years go by. Sometimes it seems as if the most eagerly-awaited moment of heroism in battle is coming. But all in vain - the enemy does not storm and there is no preservation.

With haunting pathos, Buzatti tells of an existence that is lost in the course of time. After 30 years, alone and old, Drogo leaves his fortress. When he dies alone in an inn, he cannot witness the feverish preparations for war. At the post where Drogo once spent his life, the Tartars have started an offensive.

This Montblanc variant also plays with hope. The smooth flacon with the filigree snap cap is almost a work of art. Thanks to grapefruit, the opulent opening looks quite genuinely smart, but then quickly turns into a sweet and soft drydown. The appealing prelude with a freshness kick is unfortunately soon hopelessly over. Unnoticed you remain alone with the quietly pleasing base.

And as with Drogo, with Legend Spirit, desire is the definition of fragrance. Not reality.

La Rosa enflorese
They are said to be from out of this world. They say that they are from the cosmos - not only because they sound galactic but because they are so different and unknown and unrecognized.

In "La Rosa enflorese", the old Spanish song of the rose and love, one understands why the songs of Bulgarian women's choirs still enchant people today. In the high pitches, when mortal voices struggle for strength, the choir balls up and unfolds a power that has a magical effect. Is it the rose that the song is about? Or is it the love that tugs at the heartstrings? What is the origin, what makes the singers cast their spell over us? The voices hurry in unison - the song seems almost hypnotic

The fragrance of "Santal Royal" is a declaration of love to the rose. Not to the Damascena, but to that which is called "the oil rose, the trendafil" in the rose valley south of the Balkans. The rose,
which is picked by hand early in the morning while the dew is still on the flowers. The leather and oud are included in this remarkable composition to keep the Trendafil high - for a rose festival of the senses.

"La roza enflorese
En el mez de May
Mi alma s'eskurese,
Sufriendo del amor"

"The rose blossoms,
in the month of May.
And my heart overflows,
it suffers from love"
