It’s reformulated for sure, it’s watered down for sure, but it’s still good and still it’s Ispahan! Yes Palao oud from dyptique performance wise is bit better, but this scent leans more unisex and that’s exactly why i love this one more!

Oud Ispahan.. imagine a palace, big big palace when you open the gates and go in, you see a lot of art and colours trough everywhere of the palace.. and in the middle a small fountain with roses around it. Spices and some fire with woods to keep the palace warm. This is how it smells. The elegance opening of that animalic oud and rose combo, gives you a real Middle Eastern vibe. During the transformation of the scent it becomes more western and the woods and sweetness take over. This is where you can call it unisex. Sweet rosey woodsy scent it becomes. Amazing and excellent job on this one from Dior, but it lacks the power of the older batches where the animalic lasts about 3/4 hours with good projection, here I don’t get that much. Let’s wait and macerate it till the next winter. But one thing is for sure, the vibe of a very elegant palace with fountains and rose waters is here.. the oud not sure if it’s real but they made it almost perfect !

Let me say straight ahead, no Sillage at all! Longevity is pretty good like 8+ hours on skin. So since we skipped the most simple but most questioned themes I will regard further to the real thing..

I love vetiver but I was not sure if I wanted to have another one in my collection. But when I smelled this in a Chanel boutique, don’t know if it was because of the set and setting.. it smelled like heaven, at least I would think heaven smells like this? Setting was a Chanel store in Amsterdam, with my wife on a bit rainy and sunny day, we where having a quality time dressed up and enjoying our times since the baby was cared of by grandmama.

So I was relaxed and checking some stuff for her since I wanted to buy something for her as she take care a lot of the baby when I got sick. But let’s get back to the point. I was happy that day and could enjoy anything, so before we walked away and purchased something for her the lady said I smell you, what kind of perfume is it? Told her Royal oud from Creed.. she liked it and said do you like dry or woodsy scents? Said both.. so she gave me some testers and asked me what about vetiver? I said heaven! She sprayed me the heaven and Omy goshhhh this vetiver?? It’s soooooo damn good balanced I could not believe my nose. It’s a Chanel and so balanced?? Wauw even those of Roja, creed and stuff could round it so well. I was happy to smell this, I could smell a old memory of a summer evening walking with a good friend trough Amsterdam again and having deep conversations and we where wearing vetiver scents without being conscious about it. I told him we smell like grass sweet grass and some lemon.. but could it be this? Don’t know but this is gorgeous stuff. Bought a 75ML bottle directly .

Opens dry vetiver, but very quick it’s balancing and gets more versatile.. the sweetness in the drydown and Makes this even more deep and complex. It is vetiver yes and yes you do smell it trough the whole experience but it changes with dry open, citrus/flowery mids and sweet woody drydown with that vetiver. Perfect job on this Chanel! Although the silage is very very poor. Outside in the wind if you overspray it, it still ok but very expensive to overspray it IMHO.

How can smoke which could kill people, being so addictive yet so dangerous?

That’s all what this perfume is all about, showing the perfection of pure smokiness!

Now imagine a dark person. Dangerously wild, psychopath gentleman, and yet a friendly person who’s on a business trip. He meets some soft persons and kinda likes them.. and because they are to kind he can’t hurt them.. what happens with all that smoke and darkness then? Well it gets balanced ofcourse!

This one starts very nice with a lots of iris and a hidden vanilla. The OG interlude is directly here as well, but it’s not a punch in the face like whoow to oriental smokey thing.. no this is elegant and very easy to wear compared to the OG. The iris doesn’t stay to Lang but it’s not Needed necessarily. Because of the iris the interlude is been toned down whit a smokey and oud kind of smell and a vanilla tone in it. The iris has been used to balance this scent and give it more depth because in my opinion this is the amouage with the biggest journey and the biggest challenge to understand. It could take you to different places on different occasions, but let me tell you to not use it if it’s warmer then 5 degrees because it gets extremely cloying and sweet flowery. Keep it cool and the smokiness will be balanced with the sweets.

My very first day was in the house of my friend he went on holiday, and I could stay there for few weeks.. I ordered this one because of I needed a new winter scent.. blind buy tough and it is worthy! From the first moment I sprayed I never thought I could remember something like this.. but it felt so comfortable and trusted.. and that is exactly what this perfume does.. it gives you a relaxed winter vibe. Rich but comfort without stressing or pressure.. it gives you a feeling that you can handle everything but don’t need to rush it. It takes you trough tons of vibes but all these vibes feel great. It’s almost a trilogy since it has 3 different parts. The first- mid and end are totally different vibes but yet so close… mmmm this one is for the trained noses who like to dig deep in to the material. Enough chit chat.. try your noses vogues!

Projection.. not as the OG but believe me dont spray more than 3/4 otherwise you will choke yourself and the whole area.

I’m very upset with my aventus batch from 2020 and not because of the smell, it is amazing and gorgeous the sour green apple, lemon and unfortunately weak pineapple but still ok.. the Smoke of the birch is still ok but not as it was. Oh wait I’m on the Cologne page, well let me say I was so upset and disappointed that i wanted to betray aventus after these years for his little brother aventus Cologne. And yes I call him his little brother because it’s the younger version of this one.

Aventus cologne. I wanted you straight from the moment I smelled you in the skins store at Amsterdam. I bought you at a retail price without hesitation. I wanted revenge on aventus since people said the performance was much better.. this lacked extremely. Let me say my aventus macerated well now and is pretty good.. so instead of revenge I discovered my new summer casual fragrance!

The opening is like you are driving a sportcar… a brand new one, airconditioning full and sunglasses.. that’s the vibe I get. The smell itself is like aventus in the opening but instead the Apple and pineapple you get bergamot, mandarin and bit of ginger. Turns quickly to a fruity fresh birch which reminds me of Chanel allure sport. But don’t mistake on this one.. it smells extremely fresh and natural compared to allure sport.. when you think you have a top quality Chanel it changes to a oakmoss woody drydown like the original aventus and close to skin you can still get whiffs of the fruits which makes this a Amazing scent.

When using this please during the drydown put your nose very close to your skin to get the perfect shot for your nose. Close you eyes shut your judges away and just smell.. imagine and smell. I did it and I can’t stop smelling it anymore. Let’s see what happens in the summer!

Longevity was pretty ok 6/8 hours
Sillage. Well it is winter so not a good comparison but 3 hours you can detect it well. 6 hours you get whiffs and the last hours or minutes it is only on skin.

Price.. well don’t buy retail as i did!

Scent: amazing and lovely starts like a Aventus even if there is no pineapple but it smells pineapple to me.. mid is Chanel allure sport and drydown is those combined (married)! And that o my god.. guys try it and specially the drydown is worth it

Alright let’s get into it!

When I was a kid I had a different kind of respect for my uncle who was a genius with computer gaming. Everytime my dad brought me to his house to play with him.. since he wanted me to have good influences around me. Each time I went to him I remembered his white trouser, dark blue jeans and nice haircut as Jackie Chan.. hè was a big fan.

I remember that always when we had tea and stuff on the table there was a smell.. not sure what it is till I had hacivat! When he served us it was like a green fresh deep note what is smelled. I always thought that he baked something or cooked something.. or was it him that smelled so nice? Not sure but it felt so good and warm at the some time, I felt in trust with this scent.. i can feel how happy I was when I was there and he opened up his computer to play fifa 99 with me or need for speed. And exactly this juice remembers me of that moment. I can’t be more happy than this.. finally a perfume which gives me a exciting and magical memory back in those days.

The smell it self. Let’s say right now this is not aventus not even a bit even the first 3/4 seconds just reminds me a little bit that’s it. The pineapple here is much brighter and more clear, but fades quickly within 30 minutes at my skin. From that moment it stays pretty linear have to say. Not a bad thing but I prefer more adventurous scents, but like I mentioned since it gives me nice memories I can’t complain about this. The oakmoss takes a dominant place in this one.. and it stays there fresh and bit citrusy. It’s kinda comparable with the oakmoss of aventus, but this one is much more clean and natural I think. It projects extremely good in cold weather as well.. inside it can choke and warm weather it gets more fresh oakmoss.

This type of scent reminds me of Istanbul as well since my uncle was there every month.. and that brings me to the story of Hacivat himself. Ambitious and stil playful character and that’s exactly how this scent is.. you can notice that it’s something special and unique, but at the same time it’s for any occasion.. although I prefer it to special occasions.

Quality: extrait de parfum.. no maceration needed. Natural smell, deep oakmoss and pineapple smell with a smooth soft patchouli incredible how patchouli works in summer in the way how they formulated in Hacivat. So the ingredients are very deep and clear to detect.. but linear as I said the journey it self.

Longevity and Sillage: on my skin around 10/12 hours depending on the activity and season. Projection is extremely so be careful. On clothes projection is enormously for around 4 hours. After that it gets close to your skin.. but you can detect it at anytime for at least 10 hours. After10/12 hours you really have to come closer. On trousers and summer shirts you can detect it for few days even after washing it could be still there. So be aware of what clothes you want to like to smell like hacivat.

First time seemed to be a weak performer but the magic started 20 minutes later so i was in a trouble since I used like 10 sprays. Believe me whole day long people could detect me from 3 meters distance outside! The trail was extremely and I could not smell anything else and I could get nose blind to it.. this was the only moment i wanted to become nose blind haha.

Anyways nice smell nice memories still wandering if he had something similar to his since hacivat wasn’t there yet. Green pineapple juice would be my description. Linear but unique scent and a beautiful oakmoss which I never liked it actually in some other perfumes like aventus. Performance is scary beast and the price tag.. find yourself a good one online i bought 100ml around 170€
