In love with Emila vs. business trip
The fact is, my predecessors definitely do not make it easy for me to reinvent the wheel or the fragrance. Fragrance development, chords, top, heart and base notes and H / S have already been systematically analyzed and, based on experience, judged.

For this reason, I will devote myself briefly & succinctly to the comparison of Elysium Perfume (EP) & Elysium Cologne (EC).

In order to reach a variety of different characters or wearers of Elysium, it is my goal to realize the most pictorial representation of both variants. The price difference of both fragrances is for me first of all secondary and is not further addressed in this review.

So imagine...

...you are part of a successful start-up. Flat hierarchies, a relaxed atmosphere, flexible working hours and a per du at all levels. You have a motivated, creative and young team and are open to new ideas as a whole company. You try out a lot, learn something new every day and sometimes make a lot of mistakes. At the same time, the interaction with your colleagues and business partners is always friendly.
Your boss has invited you to a summer party in his garden. Colleagues, friends & family are welcome. It is July and the dress code is casual. Thus, you decide to wear a white, long-sleeved linen shirt. The sleeves are rolled up. You wear olive cargo shorts and sporty sneakers. Of course, you can't miss the sunglasses. The icing on the cake is your scent EC. Young, dynamic, radiating and at no point arrogant or aloof. There are plenty of positive compliments, EC pleases! Your sillage-intensive fragrance, dressing style, charming demeanor, and the warm and sunny month of July harmonize seamlessly. Of course, the summer festival is a huge success. You make new friends, have humorous conversations and drink 2 - 3 beers more to finally fall in love with Emilia (name invented) from the creative department. A relaxed day comes to a happy end.

Imagine...

...you are responsible for the business unit "Global Management" of a multinational and successful industrial group. It is a classic organizational structure with clearly defined hierarchies. Your team works professionally and sales-oriented. You treat each other with respect. Processes are implemented and continuously optimized. The performance of your team is measured with the help of KPIs. A certain distance from your colleagues is a prerequisite in your leadership position.
The management invites you to a cultural summer event on a listed estate. The entire staff as well as international business partners are welcome. It is June and the dress code is smart-casual. You decide on a white shirt with a shark collar, dark blue jeans and a navy jacket. Your classic business lace-ups in dark brown harmonize with your leather belt. The icing on the cake is your EP scent. Adult, professional, confident in action and decision-making, but at no time intrusive or provocative. You will be noticed, EP pleases! Your skin-tight scent with pleasant and light sillage, your clothing style, mature and professional appearance as well as the warm and sunny month of July harmonize seamlessly with each other. The cultural summer event is of course a huge success. You continue to build your network, discuss international opportunities and have a beer at the bar to finally plan the upcoming business trips. An interesting day comes to a successful end.

I wish you this summer a lot of joy and many beautiful moments with the two fragrances, no matter which story applies to you personally.

Ups & downs
In the search for an authentic tobacco scent, there were unfortunately more lows than highs in recent months. That is, some blind purchases and tons of samples and bottlings that are now, due to displeasure in the drawer. In my defense, I have to mention that I usually dabble in the realms of rose and oud. Thus a certain ignorance is not to be excluded. Certainly there are plenty of perfumers who can recreate authentic tobacco chords 1:1. However, I didn't want tobacco drowned in honey, or wrapped around cinnamon sticks and gingerbread spices. Nor did the sensation of licking out an ashtray match my idea of a pleasurable and comforting tobacco scent.

Perhaps it is useful at this point to explain what I mean by an authentic tobacco scent in the first place and what memories and feelings it is supposed to evoke.

I lived in India for 6 years. The country is known for its tobacco cultivation and not only on a large scale. In the countryside, many families have small tobacco plantations behind their houses. The tobacco is harvested by hand, tied together and placed in the sun to dry. It is a truly olfactory experience to pick up the tobacco leaves, dried by the Indian sun, after a few days and hold them under your nose. This interplay of warm, smoky, spicy and even fresh notes make me feel relaxed and contribute to my well-being.

Tobacolor is exactly that. Fresh and slightly smoky tobacco dominates here but in a very natural and cuddly way. Sweet subtle notes of honey and plum I perceive. Everything in harmony, perfectly coordinated. A feel-good scent from the first minute. This time the blind purchase was worth it.

Very impressed!

Statement with more than 140 characters
Who likes the Roja creations; Elysium Pour Homme perfume and A Midsummer Dream, should like m. E. also the Oligarch.

Top Notes - Oligarch: Lemon, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lime, Lavender, Thyme, Artemisia, Musk

Top Notes - Elysium: Lemon, Bergamot, Lime, Lavender, Thyme

(see rojaparfums)

Thus, a certain similarity with Elysium in terms of content but also olfactory can not be denied. I feel the oligarch initially even a little more intense than Elysium. The citrus notes I perceive longer.

From the heart note, however, the oligarch then goes its own way and develops spicier and woodier. Nevertheless, it remains citrusy and aromatic. Elysium is a little more fruity on the road here.

From reaching the base notes, a certain similarity to AMD is recognizable.

Base Notes Oligarch: Cut Grass, Maté, Galbanum, Pink Pepper, Aniseed, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Cedarwood, Juniper Berry, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Amber, Orris, Birch, Leather, Ambergris, Musk

Base Notes AMD: Cardamom, Elemi, Pink Pepper, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Tree Moss, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Benzoin, Vanilla, Carrot Seed, Orris, Musk

(see rojaparfums)

Still, again, Oligarch is m. M. much more lively, fresh and sweet than AMD and thus fantastic for spring and summer. AMD goes more in the direction of warm & cozy.

H/S are tremendous for me and absolutely sufficient.
At Roja Oligarch is called a chypre, which I can not understand, however. For me it is a fougère, which I would prefer in comparison to AMD. However, I would not want to do without Elysium.

Fougères in Business
Hand on heart - Secretly, I strive to reach, positively impress and inspire the people around me. I succeed with diligence, openness, honesty, attentiveness and the ability to adapt accordingly. In a way, adapting for me also means slipping into a different role, but with the art of staying true to myself. Basically, I'm a master at camouflage and deception (in a good way). "In military parlance, camouflage and deception serve as a measure to protect an individual soldier or military unit from enemy observation or military reconnaissance, or to mislead the enemy into false actions and assumptions." (Wikipedia: Camouflage and Deception) The latter more or less applies to me and my profession as well. For this reason, I wear fougère fragrances in the office, in meetings or on business trips, for example.
I love Fougères, but not because I am so fascinated by the fragrance pyramids, top, heart and base notes or the perfumers behind the fragrance, but because the typical Fougère fragrance DNA helps to slip into the role of a, in this case, successful businessman who is able to seduce his business partner, client, etc. to certain actions and assumptions (of course, taking into account business ethics).
For a business deal worth millions I need an appropriate level of confidence and skill, for a heated salary negotiation with my boss, stamina and rhetoric, and for a meeting with foreign clients, respect and recognition. In combination with my professional experience, my language and values as well as my style of dress and finally by spraying on an aromatic, fresh-spicy and masculine Fougère fragrance, I manage to complete exactly this role with all its advantages and disadvantages. For this, I have a true scent companion who actively supports me in my role-playing, camouflaging and deceiving. Masculin Pluriel by MFK. A woody, earthy and slightly leathery scent. It's a perfect all-rounder for me, eye-catching but not ostentatious, so it adapts easily to any professional situation. Business as usual, matter-of-fact and at eye level, no need to prove anything to anyone anymore. That's how I would describe my role with Masculine Pluriel. MFK has given a classic Fougère a lot of modernity and liveliness. I often wear it when I am in my creative phase. The sleeves of my shirt are rolled up, I'm motivated, want to make a difference and I'm not above getting my hands dirty. A fragrance for those with a hands-on mentality. As the saying goes, pity is free, envy has to be earned. Masculin Pluriel may therefore be worn with a certain arrogance, always in mind; pride comes before the fall. A fragrance with many faces and a beautiful long-lasting development. Thus I wear it very gladly in the evening with a drink at the bar and let then the day incl. successful business conclusion pass in review. By the way, my client sits next to me and offers me the DU.

Veni, vidi, vici..
...certainly not 1:1 true, in the approach, however, probably by far the most meaningful quote regarding my encounter with the troops of Pontus... sorry...Roja of course!

Speaking of encounters, this one unfortunately started, due to travel restrictions, not at 51 Burlington Arcade in Mayfair, but with a visit to Roja's homepage. Experience shopping in the evening on the sofa. Roja's marketing strategy seems to be a success, as I had already, after only a few minutes, successfully added a handful of fragrances to my shopping cart. Order with payment? Why not, 5 stars summer vacation falls this year anyway again into the water! In the end, reason and common sense prevailed and I completed my order including Amber Aoud and a pair of 7.5 ml Discorvery Atomisers. After sending the tracking ID, I have this then of course hourly chased by the DPD shipment tracking. Childish, clearly!

In transit (UK),
Parcel cleared by customs (NL),
At parcel delivery centre (DE),
Out for delivery (DE),
WICKED!!!!

My parcel was marked with a large warning label "dangerous goods". Yes, I can confirm that, after skin contact with AA.

I have never, experienced such an authentic and aromatic citrus start. Finally, no WC duck! After a short time, rose then joins and AA becomes m. E. a little heavier and more elegant, but does not lose its initial fresh breeze. Fig and jasmine certainly help to perfect the whole fragrance experience, though I don't really notice these notes. The grand finale is, warm, woody-spicy, leathery and Roja typical with a hint of powdery chypre feel. The oud comes across very fresh and subtle and is neither medicinal nor fecal. However, I do notice a very slight cheesy note at temperatures above 25°C. Thus for me definitely no summer scent. Nevertheless, unique and exceptionally beautiful!

He came, he saw, he conquered!
