Holy Moly
Niche fragrances, fragrance pyramids, top, heart and base notes are new territory for me. Also 'olfactory' was not yet stored in my vocabulary and first had to be hunted through the search engine. Thus, it is undeniable that I am an absolute amateur in this field.

By the way, my signature scent is Oud Wood by TF. My eierlegende Wollmilchsau for every conceivable situation. A classic and in my opinion very timeless fragrance. Cheating!? Never cheat! Never change a running system! For me as a mechanical engineer obvious.

First things come differently and secondly....

Anyway, I came across RD's UAE fragrance by accident. In my jargon, I would call him 'Industry 4.0'. Another, in this case the 4th, industrial revolution. With UAE then, however, an 'olfactory' (vocabulary update) revolution because never before have I been able to perceive such a grandiose fragrance.

As a fragrance newcomer, I still enjoy puppy protection. This has the advantage that I do not have to deal with the systematic analysis of the fragrance pyramid when reviewing UAE. With the ingredient list, my nose would be overwhelmed anyway. So in this case, a meaningful, Holy Moly will do! Yes, I like it and it suits me very well! In the end, that's what matters to me.

Back down to earth. UAE is definitely not an egg-cellent! Not bad, because he is much too bad for daily use. The scent looks very elegant and masculine on me but also a little dirty (in a positive sense). The scent development is ingenious and changes hourly (at least that's my impression). Now in winter I wear the fragrance together with a fine knit turtleneck sweater and a black leather jacket. So elegance and dirtiness harmonize perfectly for me. I find UAE suitable for the evening hours. For the summer, it may be a little too heavy.

1, 2 OR 3..
...if you're really standing right, you'll see....

I felt much the same way when I looked at my shopping cart on MFK. OUD, OUD SATIN MOOD and SILK MOOD. Now what? Order with payment? I wish right now the light would come on!

Alright, back to square one and analyze the fragrance reviews on the web! The majority clearly prefer Satin Mood followed by Oud. Bringing up the rear is Silk Mood. All right, I'll go with the majority!

Puff! In the end, I decided on a Discovery Set (MFK - OUD Fragrance Wardrobe). The set is not exactly a bargain at around 200 bows, but no matter, at least I had found my inner peace.

And lo and behold, that last one I mentioned based on the reviews, Oud Silk Mood, has become my personal favorite.

Silk Mood is a rose oud fragrance, no question, but I just impressed by its very fresh-spicy and even slightly citrus character. This makes him m. E. something tangier and more suitable for everyday use. He does not lose his elegance thereby. In addition, I can imagine very well to wear Silk Mood all year round. Winner!

Oud: Is a dream of a fragrance! Warm-spicy and woody, with notes of tobacco and leather. Thus suitable for the colder season and my personal place 2.

Satin Mood: A fantastic warm and spicy scent but a bit too sweet for my taste due to the vanilla. Otherwise, some resemblance to oud. Bronze Medal.

Fact is, the Oud collection from the house of MFK is luxurious and unique. All 3 fragrances are implemented fantastically beautiful. The Oud DNA, of the 3 fragrances, is identical and initially slightly medicinal.

Conclusion: 1, 2 AND 3!

Popular drug betel nut
At the first spray on my skin, I immediately had to think of the many comments of my previous writers, who compared The Night with a cow shed or a manure barrel. I was very amused about it, but can understand the comparison very well.

However, if you've ever experienced the country of India and maybe even had the chance to leave the big cities of Mumbai, Bangalore and co and head out to the countryside, you'll probably be familiar with the scent of TN. Not because of the many sacred cows running around India, but because of the most popular folk drug. Many Indians have a habit of chewing betel. This is the areca nut of the betel palm mixed with other spices such as clove, cardamom, camphor, nutmeg, cinnamon, coconut or ginger to make a bite-sized product, also called pan. The Night smells 99% the same. Spicy, tangy and slightly warm and soft.

Now I myself had the great fortune to live and work in India for 6 years and associate with The Night, the fascinating and unique experiences and impressions of this country. Nevertheless, I believe that TN just for most European smeller meets with aversion. Too extravagant and too niche. Despite the many great memories of India, I had to put the fragrance aside again, because I don't know any occasion where I could wear TN without further ado. Fortunately, only one sample ordered.

The After Eight
Out of the suit and into the jeans, white T-shirt, leather jacket and go with the buddies in the evening around the houses. The last summer days are over and autumn is just around the corner.

So, or at least so similar were my expectations of TF Tuscan Leather.

I was looking for a lively, smoky and leathery fragrance that is minimally provocative, yet not overbearing. A fragrance for a successful, down-to-earth and at the same time adventurous man incl. a pinch of wit and charm.

TF TL is terrific and unique, that already once in advance. However, I had to adjust my initially mentioned expectations of this fragrance something and take off the leather jacket again. I have now opted for a turtleneck sweater made of cashmere and a wool blazer. With that, the summery days are gone. It's cool and dark and I'm sitting with my buddies including their company in a great restaurant.

TL is m. E. a very elegant and luxurious fragrance. The initial rough edges (the dry raspberry ahead) lose themselves but in the further course very quickly and TL becomes very soft and cozy. I then detect suede and woody notes. Worn at the right time and place, TL is very positively perceived. Charming looks as well as sensual reserved eye contact from ladies are definitely guaranteed. Thus an excellent companion for the evening hours in fine dress in a relaxed, open and friendly atmosphere. Due to the elegance, warmth and also the heaviness of TL, for me personally but not an everyday fragrance.

Times are changing...
... and a few years ago I would never have dreamed that I would be interested in Fougeres. Fougere fragrances reminded me too much of my grandfather. This is in no way meant in a derogatory way, because my grandfather was a man who, due to his experiences and adventures, had a solution for every situation in life, no matter how complex. Thus, he was a role model and mentor for me.

A fragrance like it is TF BJD, would have never fit a few years ago to my then youthful appearance, my playfulness and my partly still rash approach to finding solutions.

Today, with early 40s, TF BDJ is a fragrance that suits me and also reflects a little of my, hopefully positive development to date and my accumulated experience. Thus, TF BDJ has become for me a classic companion for every life situation. It is definitely not an Altherrenduft, yet m. E., the horns should be repelled, and that one or the other wrinkle in the men's face visible.

TF has with BDJ a classic Fougere fragrance very much modernity lends. Both qualities are perfectly balanced. It is a lively and masculine fragrance with lots of charm and elegance. Suitable for the office and everyday life as well as autumn, winter and spring. Later on, the fragrance develops into a soft, warm and somewhat vanilla-scented composition and is still very pleasant to perceive, especially in the evening hours. Since I have only recently become intensively involved with the subject of fragrances, I am currently not yet able to smell the entire fragrance pyramid. So I will have to learn and look forward to further development.
