Olfactorama - le prix des amoureux du parfum
In 2012, a group of French bloggers/aficionados manned up and instead of whining about the FIFIs, they set up alternative awards of their own, Olfactorama (attended by Mathilde Laurent and Thierry Wasser, no less). Their mission is "to defend quality in perfumery and to position perfume as a form of artistic expression, a true aesthetic, cultural and social object".

This year, 2013, an additional category was introduced to honour revivals and reformulations. On Jan 15th, nominees were announced.
Which nominee would be your finalist?

"Horizon" by Oriza L. Legrand smells both vintage and modern. This is the only one I know of the vast list of good perfumes you presented.

Nice post. I got a few ideas about which to seek out and sniff.

Absolutely! They are pretty transparent regarding their criteria. You can read more on their site, where they elaborate on the different categories and what criteria they apply (French only).

That's a pretty good looking list. Lots of them I don't know but like Pipette, I have incentive to try them now.
