Some houses just won't open their doors for me.
Lutens. I just don't know which ones to keep sampling to not lose interest altogether. Out of Hermès' perfumes, I have tried Eau des Merveilles, L'Ambre des Merveilles and Un Jardin sur le Nil, and while they are all good perfumes in their own right (and I can appreciate them as such) they just haven't struck a single chord with me. I am hoping this will change with Calèche, of which...

Less Acquiring, More Appreciating, still Obsessive Thinking.
Hey All :) As you may or may not know I began a no buy on 10/20/2013 to 1/1/2015. I'm 4 months in, and while I haven't caved once I am not entirely free from my demons quite yet. My mind is still set on the mode of a human calculator, crunching numbers to see how much "fun money" I have to buy pick me up treats. Instead of perfumes I moved on to obsessing on other...

Fragrances bought and/or soon to be tested:
I'd like to think I've gotten wiser with my perfume-buying habits this month. I don't know how though. Wrt other perfume-related goals, this month's perfume is Rogue by Rihanna, which I've been enjoying immensely. For the next two months they will be Moschino Funny! and Bvlgari Black, haven't yet decided which is going to be first. I have already exhausted my full-bottle quotas for the first...

2013 has gone, 2014 approaches
This year has had its ups and downs for me. I went through a major life change and moved away from the area I was born and raised in. I had savings, but I overlooked the total cost of moving and used up almost all the money I had to get here. When I started work with what I thought was a solid company and the promise of full time work---I ended up making 20% of what I previously earned. I was falling into...

Package tracking is so bad right now.
I know, it is the Christmas shopping season. A lot of places have beefed up their staff with temporary employees to help with the holiday rush (I too have been one of these employees). However, it still frustrates me how absolutely slow packages are coming through. I ordered most items online to avoid malls and the big box stores, but it is taking over a week for things to arrive or even for orders...

I visited Saks for the first time.
I was in downtown Phoenix for a couple of hours to do some work training. Since the office is a considerable distance from my home, I decided to peek around at some shops downtown. I stopped into Saks.
Holy hell, I felt like a peasant when I walked in there. I had never been in a Saks before. At the fragrance counters, there were By Kilian, Chanel, Bond No. 9, Cartier, Versace, and countless other...

What do you want from me?!
Fellow cat owners, lovers, aficionados...help me out.
My little cat Amalia (American shorthair--6 months old) is constantly meowing and rubbing up against me, appearing distressed. She usually purrs, but the meow sounds kind of sad or panicky. She's spayed, so she's not in heat (unless that happens no matter what--I'm not knowledgeable about that sort of thing). Sometimes she will go into another room and meow...

Am I jaded? A "perfume snob"?
I really do appreciate the internet for exposing me to perfumes that are beyond what is offered in a typical department store. But as a result, I find myself terribly bored when I go physical perfume shopping.
I looked on the Macy's website to possibly find some new releases that I haved heard about yet. Plus I thought I would treat to myself to a purchase. Aside from Flowerbomb, I cycled through all the perfumes...

Memory and Scent
my makeup in a bag, and gathered 2-3 rollerballs of perfume. Acqua di Gioa was one of them. I really didn't think much of the scent; it smelled fresh, and I bought it on clearance. I ended up wearing it all weekend because it was the only perfume that didn't seem cloying in the heat. I haven't worn it since that trip until today. And boy, was I sucked back into time! I remembered the warmth, the excitement...

The post office stinks.
OK, so maybe it doesn't stink as bad as it is over in the EU and UK; but it's still pretty bad. The one near me opened late today (30 minutes late), and they just recently removed all the priority mail flate rate boxes from the kiosks. You now have to go up to the counter and ask for one, so they pretty much see what you're boxing up.
I don't mind shipping things ground/surface and admitting I have items that...
