It's so nice to be back!!
Hello fragrant friends :) ...
I cannot tell you all how nice it is to be back in fragrance heaven (Parfumo.net of course) after a completely insane work schedule has kept me away for the last few months. Sayless to need I have missed you all most awfully and am thrilled to be back in your exalted company, so I just thought I'd write a bit to catch up ... because even though I wasn't finding the time to write...

A little crisis ... please help!!
Hello fragrant friends :) ...
A few days ago I was given a bottle of Yohji Yamamoto 'Yohji Eau de Toilette'. A listing for a fragrance called 'Yohji' realeased in 2013 does exist here at Parfumo (http://www.parfumo.com/Perfumes/Yohji_Yamamoto/Yohji) with notes of Bergamot, Jasmine, Freesia, Sandalwood and Musk.
The person who presented me with this bottle is a personal friend of M. Yamamoto, and reports...

An Invitation to all Parfumo members ...
Hi All
No doubt some of you have been following the various rants about reformulation, IFRA and the difficulty of getting a parcel containing perfume mailed.
Persuant to these issues I have created a Facebook profile under my nick 'Couture Guru' and invite you all to add me there so that I can direct you to a new project called 'That Stinks' ... for which a page AND a (currently open) Group exists.
If...

The New Arabians ...
I recently received three new fragrances from Arabian Oud and in the absence of dedicated pages for them I'm going to do a brief rundown here.
Arabian Prestige Rose
Top: Star Jasmine, Indian Rose - Heart: Pink Magnolia, Frangipani - Base: Frankincense, Hibiscus
With those listed notes one would think that this frag would be overly floral, which it isn't. This one, marketed as a feminine certainly contains a very beautiful...

A Passage to India
In my teens I was exposed to a series of romantic novels based on the adventures of a temple dancer called Muna, the Rose of Madore. Katharine Gordon's works of fiction provided a rich tapestry of colour, passion and fragrance ... influencing my fertile immagination to such an extent that I could feel the swirling silks of the sarries fluttering around my legs and catch whiffs of the Attar of Roses employed by Muna in her dancing....

Well, my dear ... It's simply DIVINE!!
Some time ago I received a sample of a fragrance called l'âme soeur by Parfums Divine as a gift in a perfume swap. It took me a while to try, but when I did I was absolutely astounded!! I couldn't believe that I had never heard of this French niche house before ... and what was coming off my arm was sheer heaven.
I ordered their sample coffret and so began a really plush little journey into the olfactive...

An Arabian Adventure
My love of Arabic perfumery began some years ago when I was fortunate enough to be employed by an International company based in Saudi Arabia. I wear a few different hats in my job, but the best thing about it is that I get to travel ... a lot! I have also had the pleasure of being exposed to many different kinds of people ... Italians, Cubans, Lebanese ... and some wonderful Arabs who have nurtured my love of their fragrances...

This obsession called 'collecting'.
I've always been fascinated with collections ... stamps, butterflies, art ... balls of string (I kid you not!!). It seems that somewhere on the planet, someone is inevitably collecting something ... from the mundane all the way through to the 'absolutely out there' stuff.
I was sitting here wondering why it is that every time I look, my fragrance collection seems to have grown yet again. I do my very best...
