Molton Brown

...I have tried the "Black Pepper" recharging fragrance and I almost bought it even though it is on the masculine side, it is soooo fresh and warming. Rich, spice, to my nose not overkill on the black pepper, but also a decent amount of ginger, coriander, bergamot and some oakmoss and other good stuff. Other than that I have only tried the "Intoxicating Davana" fragrance and I returned it immediately, it was a headache-inducing very loud and screechy white flower on me. I keep seeing the "Bracing Silver Birch" cologne on sale deeply discounted, but no tester- I might just pick it up since I love nutmeg, cardamom and jasmine. Goodluck!

Fragrances suitable for sports

...I like to wear "Christian Dior Eau Svelte"- very light and it says it is supposed to have a toning effect on the skin...I need all the help I can get! Sometimes I wear CLEAN "Warm Cotton" or "Amazing Grace" if I just want to smell like laundry, but I really don't wear anything too interesting to the gym ever since I wore a Sugary/Waffle scented body spray (this was about 15 years ago) and some crazy stalker guy kept following me around and trying to whisper sweet nothings in my ear while I was doing bench presses. So Creepy!

Samples from Houses - best experience
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...1.Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab- even the wrapping on the package was worth saving, it was like getting a secret clandestine package from a pirate ship. Service was also prompt and easy.2. Fragrances of Ireland- Fast service and they have a deal where if you later decide to purchase from them they deduct the price of the samples ($2 ea.) They also followed up by email twice to ensure everything was received as ordered and then for feedback on the samples. They really care what the customers think, shocking!

How to remove perfume?
by Flavorite | Perfume Discussions
...I think those that have suggested an oil based substance are definitely on to something! I didn't have any mineral oil handy but I tried some safflower oil and unscented sesame oil...followed by soap and water- it worked great- I had something with monster sillage on from Lubin- came right off completely. I am sure when I pull out the bottle of cooking oil from my purse at the luxury fragrance counter I will have some explaining to do! Hehehe.

How to remove perfume?
by Flavorite | Perfume Discussions
...Sherapop:The reason why I prefer a bath is because all of the other remedies require one to pass through yet another unwanted scent stage. I prefer to begin anew with a clean skin slate! :wink:Yes, indeed. This is the truth. I am wrestling with what to do when a hot bath is 3 hours away as I am planning an all day trip to the niche perfume boutique & Department store which are 3 hours from my house in a couple of weeks for my Birthday. It's quite a conundrum.

Parfumo/Fragrantica
by Flavorite | Parfumo Community
...So far, I think this website is a collection of the best attributes of all of the other fragrance sites I've ever visited. I love the user friendly manner in which it is organized and the professional way the database and reviews are being compiled. The webpage design is clean and uncluttered. Also, the search options are quite logical and give the serious perfumistorians (not sure if this is a word actually) several different ways to access information about fragrances. I like the fact that there is very little squabbling or gossip on the forum and people seem to be able to give their honest opinions while still remaining polite. It is very refreshing also to not see any extraneous advertising, SPAM, politics, personal attacks or the same silly topic about "how to drop somebody's panties with the right cologne". I love it here and I will recommend this site to anyone seriously interested in learning about fragrances, talking to others with the same interests and reading reviews.

Tom Ford's Champaca Absolute Champaca Absolute - Tom Ford
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...Flaconneur:"Champaca Absolute" by Tom Ford? I absolutely hated it. Stale, uninteresting and a complete scrubber IMOA.Interesting! I get the feeling it is a very polarizing scent- either love or totally hated. I smelled it recently at the Tom Ford counter, but I had 3-4 other fragrances on so I can't remember whether I liked it or not. I found most TF Private blends rather linear. Strong, smooth but linear.

...Cincy:Do you think baking soda would work?I just tried to make a thick paste of baking soda and slather it over a sample of KM Soussanne on my arm. It takes the intensity down about 50%, but it is definitely still strong enough to annoy me. I'm going to try the mineral oil method next. Maybe tomato juice, like we use on the dogs for skunk attacks would work?

How to remove perfume?
by Flavorite | Perfume Discussions
...I've started using this technique which works 90% of the time unless the fragrance is truly malicious.1. Rub unscented aluminum containing antiperspirant over the scented skin. Wait 5 five minutes.2. Rub the area thoroughly with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or Ethanol (Vodka).Allow to air dry for a minute.3. Now wash the area with warm water and dish soap solution. Soaking area if possible for a couple of minutes in warm water. 4. Dry area and if any trace of the offending scent remains then apply a scented lotion or a different more appealing scent over the area. But if someone could invent an instant fragrance neutralizer spray/wipe...I would buy it by the case, for sure!

Witch Hazel (Winterbloom) Note
by Flavorite | Perfume Recommendations
...Does anyone know of any good fragrances with a dominant Witch Hazel(Hamamelis vermalis, japonica,et. al.) note in it. I have encountered the most unusual fragrance with this note, however it was a one off that doesn't exist commercially and now I find I am looking everywhere for something like it. With Witch hazel and some kind of soft musk, powdery iris or Benzoin in the base. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What perfume have you bought recently?
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...Serge Luten's Daim Blonde. I received a sample over a year ago and I was overwhelmed trying it on in the stagnant humid heat of the Summer it was too much, so I passed it on...then I couldn't stop thinking about its buttery suede and jammy apricotness. I realized this is what I want to smell like if I'm going out in an urban environment on a chilly Friday night in October-March. Smooth, rich and just a little naughty.

Keiko Mecheri......an experience in understated elegance Umé - Keiko Mecheri
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...PontNeuf:PontNeuf:I tried 4 or 5 of her scents (i.e. Peau de Peche, Zazous, Iris Pourpre, Iris d´Argent, Oliban) but I found them very watery on me.Besides, the overall impression I had with them was "This is not me."However, I love love love the Loukhoum Parfum pour le Soir. This one is the complete opposite of the above-mentioned scents. Sweeter than Angel, even foodier than Angel ! It is a dream of marcipane cherries with marshmallows around. One of the most remarkable gourmands I have ever smelled.Update : The Loukhoum Parfum pour le Soir had to go in the meantime, love is a fragile little thing sometimes :-)....well, I would like to try her Bespoke collection to see if there is one for me but I have little hope.I have tried some of the Bespoke collection- "Canyon Dreams", "Cuir Fauve", "Bal Des Roses" and "Soussane" I found they all had significantly greater sillage and longevity than her other offerings, although none of them worked for me personally- "Canyon Dreams" was noteworthy. I have "Peau De Peche", "Musc" and "Osmanthus" in my collection- the latter two, by accident, but I really am not a fan of "Osmanthus" I find it kind of a weak & weird Datura. I absolutely adore "Peau De Peche" and on me it last for 3 days (including showers!)
