Which perfume will be your next buy ?
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...Just ordered 2 bottles of "The Iceberg Fragrance" for woman/femme because I think this gem is being discontinued in the US at least it has been very hard to find this last week. And secondly, I hope to buy a bottle of either L'artisan's "Caligna", "Mimosa Pour Moi" or Serge Luten's "Nuit de Cellophane" on Thursday for my 3rd and final Birthday shopping splurge...I swear!

Coppertone Suntan Lotion?
by Flavorite | Perfume Discussions
...CB I HATE Perfume "At the Beach 1966" and Bobbi Brown "Beach" both do very accurate Coppertone Note renditions in their scents, I would check out the notes for these two fragrances because to my nose "At the Beach 1966" is a deadringer for Coppertone Suntan Lotion.

Favorite notes
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...Flaconneur:Did you always want to know what your favorite fragrance notes were? I thought this would be an easy way to visually identify what seem to be my favorite notes in fragrances. I placed the notes of my current collection into a word cloud program like Wordle and this was the result.Simply visit: http://www.wordle.net/Wow! That is incredibly cool!!!

by Flavorite | Off Topic
...Dulcemio:Cryptic:Speaking of housework, in the last few years I've made a point of getting as much housework out of the way during the week as I can, so I don't have the bulk of it hanging over my head on the weekends. It's SO much better this way!!Does anyone else do this?I Love it! I'm doing this right now!

Which company has done the most damage to the industry?
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...IMHO, any company brand that just tries to mass market and get everyone to purchase the same generic scent instead of inspiring, curiosity and demonstrating the real science and art that goes into making a quality scent is doing a disservice in the long run. So by definition AXE Body Spray Designers...should be locked up! Granted, this is a for profit game, but if the branding pitch is like it was for Drakkar Noir and Polo-first ground breaking because it was a first experience with cologne for many of the guys I went to high school with...but as a girl, it became rather....a nonplus (mute point) when all the boys in the entire school are sharing the same bottle of Drakkar Noir...but I'm not sure we can blame Guy Laroche for this social phenomenon either. Who knows?

I can't wear Lutens ... why oh why oh why???? Rousse - Serge Lutens
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...I thought I had the same problem with Serge Lutens' whole line a couple of years ago after unsuccessfully trying Un Bois Vanille, Chergui (this smells schizophrenic on me), Fleur D'oranger (actually smelled like vomit on my skin), Feminite du Bois- smells great on some of my friends, but I smell like a gypsy psychic at a carnival, Jeaux de Peau- I wanted to love but it hates me, L'eau and L'eau Froide were also both disasterous! I swore the whole line off. Until one day I found a little Shop that had the whole line and a good fragrance consultant suggested to try the whole line (one by one over time and during different seasons, temperatures and also moods...Now I am the proud owner of 2 Fbs from this line "Five O'clock au Gingembre" and "Daim Blonde"- both of which work wonderfully on my skin...but neither of them work in the Spring or Summer and must wait patiently for Fall. I found SL's Gris Clair and Clair du Musc to be universally good. So I had to take back my earlier declaration that Serge and I would not find a common ground. Keep trying, you may find your pearl yet!

by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...I seem to having this problem with "Inedite by Lubin". I stalked it for a year before getting it, Love the bottle so much and now I find it is so strong and rich (One single spray on a cotton paper has audibly fragranced my whole clothes closet for 3 weeks!) that I don't feel in the mood to project this level of elegance for the dogs, the bank-teller or the grocery cashier. Maybe I just realized...I need a more exciting social calendar and it's not Lubin's fault at all!

Perfumes you won't publicly admit to?
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...I had "True Love" by Elizabeth Arden, "Fantasy", "Touch of Pink" by Lacoste and "Delicious" by Gale Hayman. All of them were blind buys and all of them were totally unbearable to my nose. I dumped the Delicious in the Trash bin to freshen things up a bit...hope the trash collector and local wildlife appreciated the effort. I gave the Touch of Pink to a friend whose husband was fixated on her wearing "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs, but she really disliked it, in fact she really dislikes fragrances and works in a Birthing Center/maternity ward anyway, so doesn't really need to get into this hobby with me. But after we tried about 10 different samples on her, I thought maybe Touch of Pink might be ok- or she can toss it. Fantasy and True Love went as extra freebies in a trade- in fact, I begged them to just try them cause I was going to toss them otherwise. The only one I won't admit to publically, but I really like is "Jovan's White Musk"...it's my little secret. Wink wink.

The Tragedy of Discontinued Fragrances
by Flavorite | Perfumes & Brands
...Lisky:You guys are so lucky to live near places with shops, let alone perfume shops! You know what, this is an excellent point. You're absolutely correct. I am always pining away, wishing I lived some where with a modern niche fragrance shop filled with fancy brands like Diptyque, Jo Malone, Le Labo and Serge Lutens...but I should really appreciate what I have...without that little shop, there wouldn't be a bottle of Vol de Nuit, Mitsouko or L'heure Blue within 50 miles! I would be stuck at the Chemist/Pharmacy deciding which Paris Hilton fragrance was the best. I shiver to think of it...

...Pipette:In sympathy, if my reviews were removed - without just cause - I would quit the assembly, too.My Grandmother and now my mother both love to say "It is an ill wind that blows no good" or something to this effect. I think it means everything, even if it seems bad at the time, will eventually lead to something good...like my ending up here.
