The Insidious Gourmand, don't you hate it?

...Pipette:Gourmands have their place for the ones who like them. "Coromandel" is almost a classic and liked by many. "Anima Dulcis" has chili in a sweet gourmand presentation and that adds a kick to it which is unusual. Cinnamon drydown is also very nice. yes, I agree. Not everyone likes the same style of perfume, nor do they like the same groups. We all don't like the same flowers, but it is perfectly acceptable to write a negative review, and point out what annoys you about certain fragrances. I, myself are not fond of berry, fruity fragrances, and have written several negative reviews on some of these fragrances, but that is only my personal opinion , and I would never criticize a person who wears and loves these type of perfumes. We are lucky we have so many wonderful choices, even though I am disappointed in today's newer fragrances...longevity etc. I for one, adore Coromandel, and don't find it sickly sweet at all. So, it is all in the smell of the beholder!

Is it difficult to remember scents?

...There are certain perfumes I wore years ago, and I can still smell them, in my memory. The fragrance will only come to my mind, when I am reminded of the perfume, or I have written about it. For example,I saw a picture of KL, a fragrance I wore a lot in the 80's, and straight away I could recall how it smelled. The same with Opium, and Estee Lauder Youth Dew...which I can recognize in an instant. Not all fragrances have the recall..but somehow, these ones are inbedded in my memory! :)

Lasting power, your thoughts

...Yes, I will agree with the Goutal remark..I am so disappointed with my Vanille Exquise, I love it so much, but it barely lasts 2 hours on me. I would have bought another bottle if it had a better longevity , but, sadly it hasn't. All the Andy Tauer fragrances are super for lasting power...worth the high price tag, if you like the particular fragrance ).

Tauer - new Explorer 15ml sample sets

...I am also very happy about the new Explorer set. What a great idea, and a great chance to have three of his wonderful fragrances, as a FB is quite a hefty price, and this gives us an opportunity to have 3 faves. I am wondering if any of you have experienced this strange thing that happened to me, when I went on the Tauer Website, it warned me not to go further, as it said it wasn't a trusted site) I had the same thing happen 2 years ago, when I opened an account, and ordered the discovery set. I was using Firefox , and got quite a shock, so tried it on Chrome, and the warning didn't appear on Chrome. But the other day, the same thing happened on Chrome, and can't understand why this is happening . Have any of you had this happen, while going on to the Andy Tauer Website? I think it may be because his payments are made through a Swiss Banking firm, but really don't understand the reason for this.

Information wanted re this Oscar de la Renta set

...It does look like the real deal! As to say, the pre-reformulated Oscar) What a lovely set...I adore Oscar...wore it for several years, and was heartbroken to see what they have done to it. That set looks in excellent condition, so enjoy this wonderful fragrance !

From Designer to Niche

...My first niche was an Annick Goutal...I was searching for the perfect vanilla fragrance, and paid a hell of a lot of money for a rather nice fragrance, but it didn't last more than 2 Hours, so was slightly miffed at niche, so to speak. Then I purchased the Andy Tauer discovery pack...I was blown away! I find his perfume exceptional ...not all of them, but the ones in my favorite groups. This is perfume made with quality ingredients...made with love, and a lot of thought goes into each fragrance. This is my idea of niche...a fragrance with depth..and personality....they are expensive..I haven't even got a full bottle yet ..stil saving..but it will be worth every penny. I am used to old school perfume...something that lasts..not some fruity sugar water scent. I have to say, I am getting more dissapointed with the watery versions of today..and the shameful reformulations...sorry..getting off track!

Frags so good you can't find an occasion to wear them?

...Dulcemio:Liking something so much you can't bear to own it?That is an interesting albeit completely foreign concept to me. I'm too hedonistic. The more I like something, the more I wear it. When I first discovered Chanel 19 in the mid 80's it was a religious experience, I felt overwhelmed by its beauty. And yes, it's fancy (while I am decidedly NOT fancy) but that didn't stop me from wearing it nearly 24/7 for the next 25 years! So, no, sorry, Aromi, I can't relate. And I would like to see you break free of these self-applied chains. I suggest you just force yourself to wear one of these sacred scents of yours, occasion be damned. Then do it again, and again and again. I bet you'll cure this neurosis in no time. :) Yes....this is what I wanted to say. I was such a lover of Opium in the heyday...I wore it day and night! I loved my KL...didn't care if it was strong, I loved it, and wore it...I just wish I had known they wouldn't be available now...maybe I would of stored some bottles..but who knows? Maybe they were meant to worn then...and they were Loud and Proud..it was their time. I love all my fragrances, and want to wear them...and enjoy the moment!

Frags so good you can't find an occasion to wear them?

...Now I am beginning to feel guilty! My beloved Chanel Coromandel..if I don't use it up...I have told my DIL she has to treasure it, and store it properly. I hope I can use it up..before....you know..that I fade out) That is why I use my perfumes!! I want to enjoy them, and talk about them! That is the reason I don't have too many..I love each and every one of them!

Frags so good you can't find an occasion to wear them?

...My opinion on perfume..don't worry about the type of fragrance that is supposed to be for night, or day..or special occasions...I have tested this time frame thing..it doesn't apply. If you have a collection of perfumes..wear them, and enjoy them. Don't get sucked in by the limits..day , night, spring, summer , winter, etc. etc. We choose our perfumes because we love them. We have tested them, and know they suit us. Sometimes we buy blindly...but most of us test first. Our skin types tell us what suits us. I personally don't give a damn, if Alien or etc...is for winter. I wear what I know will suit me that day..and what I love. I have spent a lot of money on perfumes. What is my personal favorite, I will wear it when I want to. If you love perfume.you know how much to apply..at the right time. 8)
