more dislikes than likes
...like:gardeniamusktonka beanlight vanilladisklike:patchoulismoky notescumin and other strong spiceswaterlilywoodsoakmosscibetetc.I actually could go on with my dislike list. It is easier for me to name what I don't like, because once I detected a note that I didn't like makes it very easy to detect the same note in future in other frags. Seems as if you get very sensitive about your not-like-notes. Wheras notes that I really like aren't many. E.g. I like rose scent, but it depends on the context of the rose note. Very often rose is mixed with citrics or hesperides, and then I can't stand it.

perfume terminology
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Hi there, as we grow, people from all over the world will join us. We all know English but not all of uas are native speakers. Sometimes we have words in our mind and are not sure weather they would be right in the context of describing a perfume. So, I kindly ask our native speakers to help us out and post the right translation when an international user posts a question.I start first:What is the right word for the development of perfume, the course of time beginning with the top note etc. until the drydown?

invitation to philosophize about perfume
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Dear Sherapop, there is no problem with your idea. You have a very nice site and I understand that you like all disscussions and answers in one blog. The only reason I pointed out my idea and told you about the parfumo-blog-function is that I believe, that in the long run you might have a lot readers here. We experienced on the German Parfumo that the blog-function is very vividly being used, Users like to comment on articles plus new blog articles are currently shown in a directory. My dear, do as ever you prefer. Congrats on your nice site :-) We are happy to have you here :-)

Which languages do you speak?
by Eternity | Off Topic
To all Iranians
...The languages I know were already almost all mentioned. The thing is, no matter how well you speak a foreign language, commenting on a perfume needs a special terminology. I hope to improve on my English and to learn from all the native speakers more about this terminology. But since I fortunately know Farsi, I really like to invite users from Iran. Please feel free to contact me at any time- I would love to exchange samples with you meaning to send you samples from scents that are hard to get in your home country. I would be very honored to do that and I am really curious to know how you perceive fragrances, weather our tastes differ a lot due to cultural preferences and so on. Of course wealthy Iranians have the possibility to fly over to Dubai as they often do and to purchase or sample everything imaginable, but I also know how difficult it might be for the average person - that is unaffordable. Perfumery is an art that I really would like to share with you, so don't hesitate to contact me :-)

Which languages do you speak?
by Eternity | Off Topic
...I am curious to learn what other language(s), besides English, you master (more or less). Of course, your chosen flag of the country indicates that you very likely happen to also speak that country's vernacular language. But it may not be the only language at your command. I suppose as our community grows, people from all over the world will join us. And even though English is lingua franca at parfumo.com, I imagine it would be nice to know if any other members share a particular language. It may, at times, even be helpful to know.

invitation to philosophize about perfume
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...Thanks for the kind invitation. That is of course very interesting for all of us. That is why I like to make a suggestion: On Parfumo every user has the opportunity to write blog-articles. In the right corner above you find that icon "Blog". You can easily copy your texts and paste them over here, so that we can read an discuss about your articles, since replies to Parfumo-Blogs are possible and are being vividly used.I am looking forward to reading some of your articles here and commenting on them. Regards, ET :D

What fragrance group/s do you prefer ?
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
...I like musky white florals, the so called "clean scents". I do not enjoy a big variety, though I recognize the art of perfumery in many scents, I don not like to use them myself such as older classics (due to oakmoss or cibet), chypres, Orientals, Candy or smoky and spicy stuff. Besides my preference for clean and noble fragrances I sometimes, but rather seldomly enjoy warm seductive scents.

What perfume have you bought recently?
by Eternity | Perfumes & Brands
..."APOM pour femme" with a lovely woody orange note that melts into darker complexions.Fine, clean and almost creamy."Coco", which doesn't need a comment, right? :P Both are really wonderful fragrances which I had posted in my wishlist for a long time. I do not purchase as often as others perfumes, because I consider myself rather being a heavy user who appreciates a large variety at one's disposal than being a collector.
