EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members
by Hayven | Parfumo Community
...I am currently annoyed by how many topics are being recycled, as it has been brought up on THIS topic time and time again. Some of my replies feel like deja vu. I'm not the most technologically savvy, but it's really quite easy to look up a topic as fast as it is to post one. But I feel that people want a topic tailored especially to their needs and wants. I am guilty of that too.

PK Perfumes...
by Hayven | Perfumes & Brands
...I won a bottle on Cafleurebon of Violet Chocolatier and received a couple of samples.Since I'm more of a fan of the sugary, gourmand, and designer types...this brand wasn't my cup of tea. Violet Chocolatier was so dry, and Cafe Diem smelled like black (bitter) coffee. I do have to say they are very well-made though; Mr. Kiler seems to use quality oils and essences to make his fragrances.

Is there a new market in Brazil?
by Hayven | Perfumes & Brands
...I think so. I have noticed a lot of new perfume releases are in South America first rather than in the U.S. I can't quote any specific perfumes at the moment.

The geography of scent - variations in perception
by Hayven | Perfumes & Brands
...Perhaps it was the air quality that made your and your wife's fragrances smell different. I only assume where you visited had cleaner air than where you usually live.Old persistent troll is old; but nonetheless, I must address. Pure water in itself IS a chemical. It is a perfect example of chemistry in nature. Sheesh! No myth there.

Do our perfume choices influence our other choices?
by Hayven | Perfumes & Brands
...Interesting observations, CC!For me, no not really. I like wearing gourmands, but they don't make me hungry or decide to bake some cookies. I guess if anything, it's the other way around and I bake a dessert while wanting to find a scent that captures that moment in time.

What do you like best on Parfumo?
by Hayven | Parfumo Community
...The minis and samples pages; they really help me keep track of what I have and what I've tried. Also there are nice people here I get a chance to talk to who I probably wouldn't have otherwise.

I have been.......
by Hayven | Off Topic
...Dulcemio:I have been noticing that as we get to a certain age, many of us start slouching without realizing it, and how poor posture adds years to our looks. I have to consciously remind myself to stand up straight quite often.Today I was walking behind this beautiful women who was, I'd estimate, in her mid fifties, and I noticed she had a fantastic figure, very fit, and was one of the 5% of women who can actually pull off tight fitting yoga pants. And then I saw her in profile and saw that her posture was not good, and it instantly made her seem less attractive and older.Baby boomers, we have to stay on that posture at all times! :DYep! I keep reminding myself often to sit or stand straight if possible.

The Significant Other - Perfumes?
by Greysolon | Perfumes & Brands
...If anything, there's some mutual enabling going on. LOL!Hayven:Correct me if I'm wrong. Sometimes I feel like Ulta has a better selection of men's colognes than women's perfume. One of the ways I spiraled into the... things are bad when my wife -usually the careful money manager- is tries to goad me into buying a high end perfume for myself and I have to say no!Hayven, maybe your Ulta has a better men's selection than our local outlet. But then I always think the women's selection is better no matter what the store...

The Significant Other - Perfumes?
by Hayven | Perfumes & Brands
Re: The Significant Other - Perfumes?
...Silverfire:For us, it's about a 60/40 split, or maybe a touch higher. I'm the one more into fragrances. However, she's more into food. So we've ended up expanding each other's sensory worlds and it's awesome. We do go to Sephora and Ulta together and there's no problem about buying fragrances and such. There's no opposition. If anything, there's some mutual enabling going on. LOL!Correct me if I'm wrong. Sometimes I feel like Ulta has a better selection of men's colognes than women's perfume.

Regulations for perfume on airplane?
by Sorceress | Perfumes & Brands
...Hayven:Ahh, so it's a domestic trip. Sorry for rambling on and on then.I agree with Pipette; try and find one spot to shop and find a little something... can buy duty-free fragrances unless you're going in or out of the country...right? At least that's how it is at O'Hare.Nothing to apologize about, Hayven! It's a wedding I'm going to. I'd much rather drive and see the country, but again, my pets. Then again, I have a friend where the wedding is...
