Trip down memory lane : Perfumes you loved as a teen
by Njdeb | Perfumes & Brands
...Fun topic!I wouldn't say I was serious about it, but I started wearing perfume when I was in middle school (age 13 or so) in the early seventies. I wore the typical teeny bopper scents of the era: Love's Baby Soft, Love's Fresh Lemon, Skinny Dip and a perfume called Green Apple. On the far other side of the spectrum, as I began high school, I bought this set of hippie-influenced perfumed oils that I now know were from the Alyssa Ashley line called "Primitives Naturals." They were called "Civet", "Musk" and "Ambergris" and contained hefty doses of their namesake animalic notes. I understand they are rare cult favorites now. My little 14 year old self liked "Civet" the best ;)I so wish I still had them.....

...Yes, sillage is a french word with nautical origins. It is the wake of a boat or ship as it moves through water. Similarly, when used to describe in perfume, in means the scent-trail a perfume leaves as a person moves by.Sometimes people use sillage to simply refer to the strength of a perfumes scent.

...A "go-to" fragrance is sort of like your first choice or the perfume you are most likely to reach for. This can be in general or in whatever context the person is talking about. Example, "Euphoria is my go-to perfume for a night out." This would mean that Euphoria is this person's most likely or first choice for a night out.Longevity refers to how long the scent of a perfume lasts and sillage refers to the projection of a perfumes scent, in other words, the strength of a perfumes scent trail. The person that is wearing a perfume would be called the "wearer."Hope this helps!

Which languages do you speak?
by Njdeb | Off Topic
...Mill4r4:English, erm, that's it. I don't know what the situation is like now in schools but I was inflicted on the French language for three years, it wasn't good to listen too. :shock:That's basically me, although I took French for 1 extra year. Didn't help much :/

What fragrance group/s do you prefer ?
by Njdeb | Perfumes & Brands
...I like a variety of scents, but tend to gravitate mostly towards Oriental Woody, Oriental Floral, White Florals (although I starting to feel like I've overdosed on those), Citrus Aromatics, Aromatics in general and Green perfumes. Not a big fan of Floral Aldehydes and overly sweet, fruity scents.

Do you have an all-year-round fragrance ?
...Confusion:I got a "summer box" and a "winter box". But some fragrances stay out whole year. For example:"Cascade""Hervé Léger""Gaultier² Eau d'Amour""Un Parfum des Sens et Bois""Baiser de Cinéma""Not a Perfume""Diesel Fuel for Life Unlimited""Body Intense"And it's true, some of the orientals work better with hot weather. "Oriental Lounge" is one of them.I'm the same way. The ones that I notice stay out all year are:Lolita Lempicka Coral FlowerAlien Eau de ToiletteCarnal FlowerPure PoisonClinique SimplyFresh Citron de VigneOf course, it could just be because these are some of my favorites, and I can't bear to seperate from them ;) I also sometimes like to take out an unabashedly beachy suntan lotion scent like Bronze Goddess in the winter for a mental vacation. 8)
