...Word of mouth recommendation by Ms D.Superior Search, comprehensive directory, prevailing expertise and tone, .. and the migrated lot I hung out with on Fragrantica made me stay. :D

Off Topic ...
...Ladies, anyone into collectibles? um, well .. let me rephrase.I've got a 125ml/4.2oz Bee-Bottle, Eau de Cologne du Coq. There's even some juice left in it; apparently from the early 90s. Though, this one is more of an olfactory exercise in 'not so well preserved' .. yet, the bottle is. No chip or scratch, with stopper. As I'm not much into bric-à-brac I would love to have this beauty find a new home. PM me, if it takes your fancy.Edit: Gone.

Which company has done the most damage to the industry?
by MiaTrost | Perfumes & Brands
...Cryptic:I would put part of the blame on the aromachemical giants. In their capacity as members of the IFRA, they've been dispensing with wonderful natural components for years under the guise of eliminating allergens. To the point, as always, dearest Cryptic.Marketing stategies, however much one might disapprove of some, still allow for choice - at least if one believes in free will and informed consumer behaviour. When it comes to reformulations and, particularly, regulations such as referred to above, the story is entirely different.

Missing/wrong notes of a perfume
by MiaTrost | Parfumo Research
...Apicius:We do not add attributes of notes if they seem to be rather advertising the fragrance instead of giving a real characteristic.Makes sense. Thanks for your clarification.

EXILED! The stories from Defected Fragrantican Members
by MiaTrost | Parfumo Community
...Cryptic:I don't consider myself exiled, merely disenchanted. That nails it, Cryptic. It is indeed a tiresome task to scan through reviews in search of good ones. But I am used to turn to several sources for reviews anyway. Another disentchanting characteristic, imo, is, many seem to lack the ability of using Search functionalities before posting a thread. This results in massive repetition of topics, which is a total bore; let alone the often pointless content.Last but not least, this site features some assets, which are simply good. For example the use of a crowdsourcing method to update the database and better features overall. As for reviews, I find they are almost always well written and genuinely informative - I hope this kind of quality is going to persist.

Tauer scents № 04 - Rêverie au Jardin - Tauer Perfumes
by MiaTrost | Perfumes & Brands
Re: Andy Tauer samples and scents
...Sherapop:Mujo:About a month ago I ordered 5 samples for about € 26,-. The samples I received were all about 60% filled. I wouldn't call that very generous. That said I liked L'Air du desert Marocain and Une Rose Chypree, but not enough to buy them. I thought I would love Incense Rose, Incense Extreme and Reverie au Jardin, but I didn't like them at all. Imo Andy Tauer scents are very overrated. They all seem to have a kind of (similair) spicy edge to them that only seems to work for L'Air du Desert Marocain. My vials were full. Sorry that yours weren't.As far as his style: yes, it's very distinctive. I find it somewhat "wild". People tend to either really like it or dislike it, it seems. I'm in the former group. 8)Mine were full too. And I like that he uses glass atomiser, let alone the neat tin box and personal touch.I'm not done with sampling yet, but I thoroughly enjoy the ones I've tested so far; some are nice and others rather excellent, imo.As for his style, I agree, Sherapop, the so called Tauerade is indeed distinct and might not be as versatile as, for instance, the Guerlainade is.
