What flowers are blooming where you live?
by AFreimann | Off Topic
...Irises (that are nearing the end, sadly) and freshly blooming roses.

Say hello and/or introduce yourself (if you like)
by AFreimann | Parfumo Community
Not sure how to use this forum...
...but perhaps with time and continued attempts, that will improve. My name is Antigone; I'm 47 years old, American housewife with a life-long love of perfume. I also love to take pics of my perfumes and love that we can save them here at parfumo.com. I have nothing but love for you, my fellow enthusiasts.

I have been.......

...I have been... trying to figure out how this forum works exactly. I like it, but can be stymied by things simple and easy.

Do you keep backups?
by AFreimann | Perfumes & Brands
...Exciter76:Afreimann:I have back ups for loves and/or fragrances that are discontinued/ vintage. Back ups for me include: Guerlain Insolence Eau Glacee, MMM Replica Lipstick On, several vintage bottles of Eau de Joy (Jean Patou). Fragrances that I wish to back up include: Shalimar Souffle de Parfum, Fendi Furiosa, Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge Gloss.I've heard you sing the praises of Fendi "Furiosa" and I'm kicking myself for not picking up a 30ml bottle I saw at Marshall's when I had the chance. I know I sound like a skipping record when I say I'm in love with Fendi "Fantasia". I don't doubt "Furiosa" is just as drool-worthy. It breaks my heart that Fendi had jettisoned all perfumes from its portfolio.I'm dying to try your beloved Fantasia! Yes, I also think it's completely tragic that they've stopped making perfume altogether. Such beautiful creations lost to the world!

Ultra-Expensive Perfumes
by AFreimann | Perfumes & Brands
...Apicius:I have a simple rule. I don't pay more than what Guerlain asks for their best and most expensive perfumes.I do not pay twice as much for a sophisticated Amouage fragrance, because it will not be twice as good as something from Guerlain. It will be half as good! So, I own no Bond No.9's, no Clive Christian's, no Xerjoff, none of the more expensive Boadicea the Victorious', and only one Amouage for which I got a rebate of 50 €.I do test perfumes with very high prize tag, but with rather low expectations.THIS, I feel like it's 100% the best approach. I, too, am often very under-whelmed by those over-priced fragrances and always wonder who on earth they think they're kidding with a mediocre product at a stellar price.

The animalic bad girls
...+ for Jean Patou's Joy, 1000, and Eau de Joy :lol:I also love the sweet & saltiness of ambergris, such as in Paco Rabanne Olympéa. For musk, the classic Jovan White Musk is wonderful, as is Body Fantasies' Fresh White Musk.
